Keep in mind, I had a "cardiac event" two months ago, THEN I signed up to run the W&D Half! But I'm a Mighty Duck! Maybe a bit crazy...not foolish...but crazy.
I ran outside both Saturday and Sunday this weekend for the first time since my "cardiac event" (all other running has been on the treadmill with a heart monitor). My plan was to run as slow as possible, like on the treadmill. But you know what? I couldn't run on the street as slow as I do on the treadmill. My Garmin reports I ran about a minute faster per mile than the treadmill. I felt fine both days running. Just couldn't move that slow. 4 miles both days. My plan is to keep a base of 15 to 20-ish mile per week until early August. Then I'll start working in longer weekly runs.
How is everyone else doing on their training plans?
Liz - Have you found any shoes yet? I'm an Asics girl, too. I'm not too fond of where they've taken the GT Gel series shoe over the years, but it still works for me. Any luck yet?
