Our first cruise- 3 days and trying to decide if we should take our daughters (8 and 3 1/2) on the Atlantis Dolphin Excursion or just stay on the ship? Thoughts???

A lot depends on your kids. We did the Blue Lagoon dolphin encounter with a six and seven year old in March and had a wonderful time. but I'm glad we didn't do it when they were younger. Both my kids are quite comfortable in water ( it was chest deep on my 45 inch six year old) and fairly adventurous. There was another family with a child of about two or three who absolutely freaked out when they tried to go into the water; she didn't want anything to do with it. The dolphin is big and a little bit intimidating at first. If your child would be really uncomfortable with a big friendly dog or barnyard animal in a petting zoo coming right up to her she might find it a bit scary. You know your kids best.
