Dole Whips

Only in the MK at Aloha Isle in Adventureland.

OH! This is a MUST HAVE snack! So glad you are making it a priority! ;)

They can be found just past the entrance to Adventureland on the right. You can get a whip, which looks like whipped frozen yogurt...LOOKS....taste cannot compare for the Dole Whip is phenominally out of this world! You can also get the whip in a float...the whip is floating in pineapple juice which is just as tasty.

DH and I just got excited about this over dinner as we were discussing plans for our trip in two weeks....DOLE WHIP IS A MUST!!!!!

A little tid bit. My DD is allergic to milk and eggs (resulting in her me not being able to eat it for a while because she is breast feed.) I was asking about dairy free things and someone told me that dole wips are dairy free. Now I don't plan on eating one with out asking to read the ingredient list myself (sometimes non dairy contains casin, a milk protein.) But I have heard it doesn't have lacaid so if you are lactose intollerent check them out at least. I know I plan too. :teeth:

Just wondering if they are low-fat? Our first trip (with our children) in '03 I gained 7 pounds... with miles and miles of walking! My DH returned the same weight and so did 2 of our 3 kids... our youngest DS (Captain Stroller) also gained weight... but EVERYONE really really teased me as normally I am very food and weight conscious... but I ate absolutely everything I wanted! It was heaven... It was very fun. Our last trip in May '05 I was more carefull and returned the same as when I left... but had NO snacks inbetween meals. So sad. So I am looking for recommendations for our upcoming trip in 2 weeks... healthy, yummy, low fat or fat-free snacks in the Parks????????? Any advice??????

I usually come back the same weight (or a few pounds over) after a trip to WDW. My boyfriend and I usually share CS meals (breakfast and lunch). Drink plenty of water and with all the walking we are usually ok in the weight department. Although, as far as I am concerned a few pounds is worth it to have a Mickey bar and a Dole Whip - rather than to deprive yourself the whole trip. Usually one Mickey bar and one Dole Whip is just enough for me (and sometimes a Mickey Rice Crispy Treat). Last time down we had a coupon for a free Sundae at Giradelle (which I never got because evertime we were in Downtown Disney I was too full for one). Next trip I plan on making a special trip to Downtown Disney for one of those.

I guess my biggest tip would be to share CS meals and no soda.

I completley know what you mean.... I gained at least five punds on our past trip, but it was worth it. Once I got home it fell right off. I would recommend either eating the healthier snacks, like fruit and/or better food at meal times, items luke salads, fisn and grilled chicken.... I know boring. But maybe if you just splurged once a day, a Dole Whip or Mickey Bar, and then ate light the rest of the day, I am sure you would be fine. You could also try to fit in exercise in the mornings or night, not like all the walking is not exercise. You could go for a jog or a swim.

Next time we go, I am planning on doing the extra exercise bit and eating what I want.
Have a great trip :earboy2:

Thanks for all the ideas!!! But... I'm SO jealous... it took me quite a bit of effort to lose those Mickey Pounds!!!! I was in an "Eat what You Really Want" frame of mind when I returned home and I felt SO deprived when I started cooking again... even things that I normally like seemed to pale in comparison to WDW food memories. I must admit that I really took a liking to all-you-care-to-eatbuffets while we were there. I came to the conclusion that if I lived in WDW I would eventually explode... good thing I can't afford to!!!!! And I LOVE those Tollhouse Cookie Ice Cream sandwiches that seem to be everywhere...

I guess that will be the sliver lining to my not being able to eat what I want at WDW. (although personally I would take the extra 5 and be good at home instead any day.) I have lost 15 pounds by cutting all dairy and eggs out of my diet in 3 months, but the weight seems to have stablezed. (I could loose another 15 pounds and to be to skinnny. ;) ) Heck if I lost another 15 pounds I might even fit in my wedding dress (13 years old now.)

Still, would rather just eat what I wanted, at least at WDW :guilty:

I've learned to skip the buffets and make sure that when I do eat its healthy meals while at Disney. That allows me to drink alcohol and eat snacks and desserts because I'm reasonably good at meals. And being good at meals doesn't mean salad...it just means no fried foods, hot dogs or hamburgers...aka quick and casual... If the fried food groups were the only option then that means no snacks, no dessert. And I always do breakfast in my room unless there is something special I want to try...if so THEN I'll eat a salad for one of the other two meals.
