Does Coronado Springs have Disney magic?

Stayed at CSR in December 2003 and thoroughly enjoyed it. If I were a child, I would adore The Dig Site!

The only thing I disliked was my CM at check in. The one thing I specifically requested was not to be placed in Ranchos. Where do you think this CM was determined to place me? Ranchos. *sigh* People, I live in the desert. I do not want to vacation in a faux desert in Florida! *sigh* Another CM rescued me and placed me in an excellent location in Cabanas. The first one couldn't be bothered.

I'm one of those people who doesn't like Pepper Market. I'm a picky eater and their food just did not appeal to me, so I avoided it for the most part. Most people seemed to enjoy it, so don't base your opinions on my finicky eating habits!

Other than that, no complaints. I'm not sure what you consider to be "magic". Friendly CMs, nice surroundings, comfortable room? I tend to think "magic" is what one chooses to make it!

We went there last year at Christmas time, and really enjoyed it. Maybe it was the time of year, but I did not see any convention folks. We enjoyed the food court, lots of options. We even got some towel animals.

They had some Christmas activites for the kids such as a pinata. We didn't make it to any since we were in the parks, but sounded like fun.

The Rancho's are by far the best rooms. Further? Perhaps, but from what? The Casita's are...Ugly. The Cabanas' are mundane but the Ranchos are unto themselves.

CSR is no POR but it's far better than CBR.

We stayed there in 2001 and I would say that of all the places I've stayed so far (WL, Poly, Swan, ASMo and CSR) it's the least magical. I liked it, don't get me wrong, but I didn't really feel the magic. It's relaxing, the pool and Pepper Market are great, but I didn't feel like I was in Disney. That might be after staying at ASMo, where right out our window was Buzz LIghtyear three stories tall.

We stayed at CSR in July 2003. I don't remember seeing very many conventioners. Maybe there aren't many conventions in July ? Anyway, we had no complaints---stayed in the Casitas, with a view of the lake. The landscaping was beautiful. :sunny: Enjoy your trip.

We've stayed there 3 times and I have noticed very few conventioners too.

We stayed there this summer and I was really looking forward to the southwest/Mexican theme. I thought it didn't seem natural at all. All I could think of in my head was that it seemed very "plastic". The theming at POR seems very natural to me, but CSR did not seem believable. It is not a bad resort and you can have a good time there, but I doubt that we will be staying there again.
