Do you use a travel agent for vacations ?

I ask becasue I wanted to book a trip for my family, So I did all this leg work. Checked and re-checked prices on line and on a wim I called a travel agency and they got me a better deal on a nicer hotel.

I took their deal and now dont think I will ever book a vacation again on my own.

I used mouseearvacations for our land/sea Disney vacation. Our agent was great!!!!! I may have been able to save alittle money doing it on my own, but still think that I got a good deal. Our agent took very good care of us!!!

No because I am very particular OR I am using skyauction one of the two. Well I take that back if I am going someplace in the caribean like Sandals you almost have to use a TA to get a good deal but on just regular travel no.

My sister used to be a travel agent and booked my honeymoon to Jamaica and big family vacations to Florida. Since she quit I have booked all of our FL trips on my own and never had any issues.

I have had bad luck with travel agents. I always seem to have more information than they do...about the ship, the hotel, airfare, etc. I like to do my own research about a trip, so often end up answering my own questions. When you find yourself telling the travel agent how to get the best rate, it's time to say goodbye. I will most likely never use one again.

I am a TA, so of course I do! I do want to say thank you for supporting us. We've had a hard few years and we need clients who are willing to give us a chance. I work hard and do try to find the best deal I can. I can't always beat the internet price but I sure do try. Thanks!

The only time I'll use a travel agent is for our trip to Ireland next year. Other than that, I book everything myself!

I book myself... two of my co-workers just used travel agents & I was appalled at how much I could have saved both of them!!! $3900 for 7 nights at a 2BR Vistana Condo (3 adults 1 child), Base WDW tixs for 4 days & 2 day Universal tix, airfare & car rental....

Where we work we get 20% off both WDW Hoppers & Universal tix - so why they wouldn't save that $ I have NO idea... And I told them I could get the same condo through Skyauction for a fraction of the $200+ per night the breakdown from the TA showed... just off the top of my head I could have shaved about $1600 off the price they paid

I haven't used a TA in years. The Internet provides me with everything I need to book my own vacations at the price I want to pay. I'd never go back to using a TA.

I was a travel agent before 9/11. I won't use one for domestic travel, but I would seek out a friend who still works for the agency that I did if we were doing something internationally.
