What I mean to say is that I did not pick on you, but rather simply wondered why folks don't bother to hit the "show your signature" button more often. I do not see why such an innocent question would cause such a negative reaction.

Just curious and not trying to offend, seriously, but I just wonder why people who find signatures and pics (etc) annoying do not exercise the options to turn them off? I mean, it seems much easier than to keep getting frustrated by it. Mainly because even if some poeple remember to hit the siige button, that would only be a small percentage. Seems to make more sense, to me, for the readers to choose the options that fit their reading comfort.

I'm not snarky (well, my screenname is not snarky) ...but I dunno, that 'wear gloves' comment really could be considered offensive... :lmao:

I'm sorry you didn't get it Slo, and apparently no one else did either. My inquiry was one I had intended to make earlier, and yours just happened to be the first post I came across today where the writer had placed her picture on the thread more than once.

What I mean to say is that I did not pick on you, but rather simply wondered why folks don't bother to hit the "show your signature" button more often. I do not see why such an innocent question would cause such a negative reaction.

I am beginning to see that many people on here are quite sensitive, and comments like "uncalled for," and "rude" just enforce that perception. And, I suspect that the bandwagon effect played a role here as well. lol

In any case, I did not intend to be rude at all; and as I said in my orginal post, I was simply "wondering" why folks repeat their signatures on the same thread. Nothing more.

Please forgive me, and I will make every effort not to offend anyone in the future.

Karnak.

What I don't understand, is why you posted this to begin with :confused3 . I made a thread asking people to post when they are going for the free dining and I got your post.

If you have a question to ask, maybe you should start your own thread and ask people for their opinions. Don't go on someone else's thread and respond with a post that has nothing to do with the thread.

I just dont see why anyone would care if someone posts more than once on a board with keeping their pics in their sig? :confused3 Seems like something silly to be bothered about. Im like one of the pp who said the recognize posters by their sigs not their names. And if it does bother someone that they are seeing the pics more than once in the same thread, can't they can disable them on their side.

I actually think it's a great idea if people could easily temporarily disable signatures when posting multiple times on the same thread! I don't expect people to go to a different screen to do so though.

Now that I'm on cable, I enjoy seeing signatures. However, for my first 5 years on the DIS I had them disabled due to my dial-up connection. Even now, I find the size of the pictures over and over on the same thread to be a small irritant - probably because I know what havoc they are causing those on dial-up.

I never paid attention to the "additonal options" before this thread. :confused3

BRING HIM BACK!!! I read your posts just to see Chachi!! Please don't ever do that again. :teeth:

When I was on dialup, I used the option to not show siggies. That was up to me, as I didn't want to wait.

I'm not going to tell someone else they can't have their pretty cat picture, their dishy guy picture, their adorable kid picture, their yummy drink picture, their favorite car picture or their silly hubby picture. Don't like it? Then use the User CP option to not see em.

I'm with T&B...I recognize by siggy pics half the time. What's funnier is that DH notices them too, from across the couch! BTW, Martha, the kitty pics are torturing him-but in a good way.

I'm afraid to post here 'cause if my picture's too big, I don't know how to fix it! But anyway had to ask...where exactly is that button anyway?
You can edit it really easily to within their guidelines by doing a 50% size edit in your Photobucket account. Just click on the Edit icon above the picture in your account, and resize.

And yes, I do use it sometimes, though not for the reason indicated in the OP.

Well, lookie here...only 3 posts later, 2 posters are claiming the world revolves around them! :lmao: :rotfl2: Hmph...world's going to hell in a handbasket, I say!!!!

ML, I'll meet you at Kings Dominion tomorrow, if you want, and we can duke it out there. That's almost on your territory, right? :rotfl2: I'm pretty sure that the world revolves around me, but it could just be my family that revolves around me. But then again, if you look at my 6yo it would be pretty obvious that the world revolves around him. Or maybe his 12yo brother. That's what their siblings think! :rotfl:

No it was over the 200 height limit.

Bummer--it didn't look real big too me and I thought maybe it was the width that was over 200 like mine. At least I think it's only my width that's only over 200--I don't want to look too closely. :)
