Do you ever hit the "show your signature button?"

When you reply to a thread there is a button under "Miscellaneous Options" that you can check to show your signature.

Tsk me again and I'm telling Mom.

I imagine most people leave their sigs "on" most of the time. I never thought about turning mine off for a double post in the same thread.

Maybe the poster has dial up and it takes a long time to see a post with a picture. But, there should be a way for that poster to opt to block out all sigs and avatars if that is the case. At least, I think you can do that, but I'm not sure.

I enjoy seeing everyone's pictures!

Maybe the poster has dial up and it takes a long time to see a post with a picture. But, there should be a way for that poster to opt to block out all sigs and avatars if that is the case. At least, I think you can do that, but I'm not sure.

There is a way to do this, go to User CP, then Edit Options and then scroll down to Thread Display Options. You can decide whether you want to hide signatures, images or avatars (or a combination of all three). We DIS members have all sorts of options to not read or see what we do not want to see.

I would find it surprising that the poster, who made it an issue, in that other thread knows enough to tell other people to turn off their siggies for one post, but doesn't know the above.

I think some people think the world revolves around them. JMO

I'm sorry you didn't get it Slo, and apparently no one else did either. My inquiry was one I had intended to make earlier, and yours just happened to be the first post I came across today where the writer had placed her picture on the thread more than once.

What I mean to say is that I did not pick on you, but rather simply wondered why folks don't bother to hit the "show your signature" button more often. I do not see why such an innocent question would cause such a negative reaction.

I am beginning to see that many people on here are quite sensitive, and comments like "uncalled for," and "rude" just enforce that perception. And, I suspect that the bandwagon effect played a role here as well. lol

In any case, I did not intend to be rude at all; and as I said in my orginal post, I was simply "wondering" why folks repeat their signatures on the same thread. Nothing more.

Please forgive me, and I will make every effort not to offend anyone in the future.
