I often recognize a poster through their picture, avatar, etc, esp if I'm scrolling quickly, so I'm not bothered by having a picture on there. If someone doesn't want to see a signature for whatever reason (ie, has an old computer or slow connection which means that it takes a long time to load the pages with the pictures) they can turn the option off.

Me too! If I am following a thread, I scroll using the pictures or avatar's to find the post. To be honest I never thought of clicking the signature button.
 
Karnak, also, to be honest, like others have said, I never really noticed the various buttons. Probably because it's such a habit to click the "submit reply" button, often in a hurry while the dogs are barking, but for a cat walking on the keyboard, when I'm being paged by one of the kids, when the phone is ringing, etc. :rotfl: Ater a few hundred of those times and it's just a mindless click, which I've done plenty of times before I was was ready to submit. :teeth:
