Sorry for the delay- have been busy with friends and fun and awesome weather! Please don't give up on me!
Here's the rest of Day 2:
I think anyone who was at WDW that week in May could tell you that it was hot. Really, really hot. The thing I remember most about the Friendship ride we took was sweating. We sat inside, and the sun beating down on the boat had made it very warm in there. I spent the long journey to Epcot wondering if my butt had sweat through my dress. I was pretty sure it had (spoiler: it hadnt, though my back
did). I really dont do heat well, mostly because I am such a sweaty beast- not comfortable or attractive, but its the way it is.
After what felt like forevvvvvver, we were entering Epcot through the International Gateway. My goal here was to show Mark the awesomeness of a Kim Possible mission. I knew hed love it, and I also knew hed become addicted. Mark gets very, very into any kind of game and cannot leave anything undone. I was a little leery about him wanting to do every single mission right then, but I was willing to risk it.
So we stopped at the kiosk and picked up a Kimmunicator. Mark was extremely self conscious at this point, and didnt believe me when I told him other adults play. So he kind of hid off in a corner to start the UK mission, and I went into the Rose&Crown to get a Bass Ale. (Have you ever noticed that this is one of
the coldest spots in the World Showcase? The other one is the bathroom in Germany.)
I came out of the bar with my drink, and sorta watched him do the mission, taking pictures along the way.
At one point, we had to go into a store and tell a secret phrase to a CM. Mark was still pretty embarrassed but so compelled to keep playing that he did it anyway. The CM handed us this:
(it's a tea bag)
And we continued saving the world. Incidentally, these are my favorite parts of the missions- when you must find a certain CM and tell them something to get a clue. I like the scavenger hunt-ishness of it and how interactive the whole thing is.
Mark did a great job and we were soon done in the UK
We continued on to France, where Mark did yet another mission. I mostly kept standing in doorways of shops to try and stay cool.
I was very happy when the clues brought us inside.
Before I completely melted, we were done in France and had to think about what was next. We just so happened to be standing near the Grey Goose Slushie cart, so I suggested we try a couple of those. They helped keep us a little cooler (even though Mark drank his in about 4 seconds), and I requested that we do the Mexico mission next because it is indoors. Of course, I forgot about the part where wed have to walk the whole way there. Oops.
As we made our way, passing through the America pavilion, a mother duck crossed the path with several adorable ducklings. Most people stopped and said things like awwww! and look! Cute!. One little boy wanted to be different, and he was stomping around after them. His parents just kinda watched, but when he got thisclose to
actually stepping on one, I instinctively called out do NOT step on them! several other people also shouted things like hey! and stop! So
then his parents finally told their precious Nicolas to leave the ducks alone. I was not a happy camper- to see
two almost animal squashing in one day was a bit much for me.
Despite this excitement, we did eventually make it to Mexico. It felt pretty awesome to be inside and out of the heat! Before I could even think about doing anything else, I steered us to La Cava de Tequila.
This pretty much sums up how we felt when we got there:
But a couple of these:
thats the cucumber margarita and the Don Julio Pomegranate (I think
)
Had us back to normal:
We also ordered the Queso Blanco to split. Our waitress brought us some chips and salsa because she said a new batch of the cheese was coming up, and it would be a little bit of a wait. It ended up taking a very long time to get the cheese (enough time to have a couple more margaritas, probably
) but when we did it was amazing!!! So, so good- a little spicy, a lot cheesy. And because of the wait, she didnt charge us for them. Awww, thanks! I have always had great service here and pretty much just think Cava de Tequila rocks!
Next up was China, where Mark completed yet another KP mission.
I though this topiary was awesome- it was dripping water out of its mouth!
Before we left China, we stopped for another drink (why not? It was super hot out and we werent driving anywhere!) Mark got a gingerita and I got a drink special: Tipsy Ducks in Love. It was tea and coffee blended with whiskey and chocolate. It was pretty good- but strong!
We had to make our way back to the UK because dinner would be at the Rose & Crown. We had a bit of time, so we took the photo booth pictures, as you do:

I looooove that creepy picture!
A phone began ringing while we were there, but there was a toddler in the booth (her family was taking a picture) so I couldnt answer it. One of the older kids in that group did answer it, and he spoke briefly before hanging up. But then the other phone rang, and I picked it up- it was Ben! He knew when our ADR was, so I had an idea hed be trying to call. We chatted for just a little bit, then Mark and I checked in for dinner and were seated pretty quickly.
We amused ourselves as we waited for our food:
Look innocent:
Look thoughtful:
Look confused:
Pretend Ben's here:
Haha, yes we had been drinking, but no, that is not what makes us act this way- this is normal for us!
After dinner (which was just ok- I ordered the appetizer trio for my meal and it was underwhelming.) we made our way toward the front of the park, stopping for a random picture on a bench:
And hopping on Spaceship Earth for a spin. We had the most amazing video
it cracked me up (and still does, especially since you can hear me cackling all through the video
)
We were back in our room at about 8, and decided to go swimming. Except that by the time I got changed, Mark was sleeping. I left without him and headed to the main pool. It had started to rain, so I popped into the Gurgling Suitcase instead of the pool and got a Turtle Crawl.
I called Ben and we talked for a bit, and then Mark was there! He had woken up and came over to swim
so we did! It had actually got pretty cool (the
only time during this trip), but the pool was really warm. We found the hot tub, and I tried to help my poor feet by soaking them in the hot water. It helped a bit, and felt great. We caught a bus back to our room and it was bedtime by 10.
This had been a great day- and the pace was a lot slower in many spots (though trucking it across the World Showcase to get to Mexico was not a lot of fun). I was pleased to introduce Mark to the joys of adult beverages in Epcot, as well as the fun of a good Kim Possible mission.
Day 3: 'Magic wrapped up in PIXIE dust!'
