Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

Good to hear that January isn’t as bad as July for the 15’s. Do you think we should try to see if we could switch to Music or Movies? I just figured they’d be at any of the All Stars and since we’ve stayed at those ones on previous trips we thought we’d try Sports this time. Not sure we’d find availability at those ones though at this point but I could try I suppose.
I would just stick with Sports-15s could be at any of the All-Stars.

We were at Sports last January and didn't see many 15s at all-they have been slow to return Post Covid.

But we were back at Sports in July and they were everywhere, just like Pre Covid.

Hopefully that doesn't indicate anything about this January and your experience will be like ours from last January.

You've done everything you can for the best chance. One other thing I like to do is call the main reservation line about a week out and ask them to read off any requests on my reservation just to make sure it's there.

There is no number that will get you to the All Star resort. All numbers you can find on the internet will all route to the general call center.
Yes, call about a week out and ask them to read you the requests on your reservation. Try not to stress over it; I'm positive they'll find a way to make it work. We've been going for over 2 decades and always request a connecting room with my mom and have never not gotten it. Once you get to the resort; check to make sure it's connecting before you go to the room and if it's not, go to the front desk and explain the situation. They'll get it figured out. They don't guarantee it, but like I've said we've never not gotten it after our request was put in. I also think there is a guarantee when the other room is all minor children, but again I wouldn't stress about it. Just speak to them once you get there if for some reason your request wasn't met.

I have 2 rooms booked and linked as traveling together. One for me & my husband and the other for my 3 teenagers. I called Disney regular phone number and asked if we can be together or at least in the same building and they said they can put in a request but there's no guarantee until we check in. Anyone have any advice on how to proceed to have the rooms together? Should I call All Star Sports direct phone number?
We recently stayed at Sports after booking 2 rooms (separate times booked and both through Priceline - we added a room weeks later when DH and my teen decided to come). We did call Disney ahead of time and, when we arrived, they saw a note made in the request.

The resort was pretty full, and while our rooms weren't next door, we did get rooms in the same section about 5 rooms away. The CMs at the front desk were super accommodating as best as they could be to get the rooms close by. This was our first time there and we really had an excellent experience. We had some hiccups with the right names on the rooms, the magic bands not working, etc., and they fixed everything right away.

We are due to stay January 19-26, when we booked I thought we would be coming in on the tail end of cheer and dance and thought it’d be ok but now I’m reading there may still be some still taking place for our dates. I recently lost my mum and this was to be a time to just relax and escape reality for a bit, so we’re nervous about the possibility of noise and crowds during our stay. We are doing two After Hours events so will mostly be at the resort the other times. So a couple questions please, do we have reason to worry and is there a possibility we may receive an offer to switch resorts? I think I’ve read of that happening to others staying at All Stars during times of sports events. Thanks.
Girls Soccer Showcase is also January 17-20. The 2 Disney properties that were offered this year was All Star Sports and Port Orleans Riverside.

What's the best was to get to HS if we want to arrive 1 hour before park opening for early entry? Bus, uber or Minnie Van. If Minnie Van - should we take to HS or the nearest resort and walk?

Great question Jrits.
I have only ever taken the bus so I cannot say about Uber of Minnie Van.

Anyone else have some insight on this?

Per the Walt Disney World Website: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/all-star-sports-resort/

From January 2026 until late April 2026, the Surfboard Bay Pool and the kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort will be closed for maintenance. During this time, the Grand Slam Leisure Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports will continue to be available. Additionally, Guests are welcome to use the other pools throughout Disney’s All-Star Resorts, including the Calypso Pool, Piano Pool and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort; and the Fantasia Pool, Duck Pond Pool and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me about the arcade tournament that happens daily?

What is it? What are the prizes?

Has anyone had a problem with a room near the smoking section?

For our next trip in June, I had a standard room but applied an offer where preferred was less expensive & the only available room category.

I'm afraid I'll have a room by the smoking section and be able to smell it. Building 10 seems to be the worst bc they have it on both sides and i can smell smoke just walking by it .

I hadn't even thought about that! Thank you for bringing it up!

Wow, I never thought of this and I've stayed at the All Stars two or three times.

The online map at the WDW website indicates one outdoor smoking area near "Hoops Hotel Building 3." I wonder if this is accurate, since a place as large as Sports would probably have more than one such area.

Though I don't know about Sports specifically, over the last 10 years or so WDW has been significantly reducing the number of designated smoking areas.

There is a large Smoking Area by the "back door" to End Zone Food Court.
