Do NOT step on any animals, please! A May 2012 TR. NEW! 6/25

I hope, hope, hope the weather is kinder in October!

You and me both! There's a reason I won't ever go for my birthday - it's in July. I'm not interested in melting to the pavement.

I'm always amazed at what parents will let their kids do! I will let Paxton have a little freedom as long as he's not bothering anyone else or hurting anyone or himself. Sure wouldn't let him be trying to step on a baby duck! :sad2: Glad you stepped in and set the kid right.

Looks like Mark quickly got over his hesitancy of doing the Kim Possible missions. :rotfl: He seems to really be enjoying this! We've never done it, but now that DS (and DH!) enjoy watching Phineas & Ferb, I'm sure an Agent P mission is in our not so distant future, possibly next year when DS is older.

Mmm, the queso blanco sounds good without even needing to see a picture! Might have to make a stop there for some. :thumbsup2

I absolutely love the fact that your DH knew the exact date & time to call the red phone booth for you to answer!! :lmao:

That day sounds amazing! You have exactly the kind of Epcot day I want to experience next trip. I definitely want to check out Cava de Tequila. Those margaritas look wonderful!

I've never done Kimpossible. My BF is super shy so I wonder if he'd like it?

What a fun adult day you had!!! All those beverage look and sound amazing! Don't think I could ever keep up with you though... Once... were were in epcot and a group was having to about carry out one of their party. She had obviously had too many boozes. That would be me if I were to have tried to drink along side you.

As for the animals... yeah... I saw a couple kids trying to chase baby ducks. didn't make me to happy. I too am an animal lover and just try to save them all the time.

I won't go for mine either. It's in June and Ugh!! Heat and Humidity are not for me!!

We'll just celebrate ours in October too. :thumbsup2

Let's see...my niece's bday is Oct. 1, my mom is the 3rd. And then 2 of my closest friends are the 16th and 17th, so I think I should qualify for an Oct. celebration.

Loooove La Cava de Tequila!! It's one of the things I may have never discovered were it not for the DIS! :disrocks: We tried one of the margarita samplers one time and it was so refreshing. Looks like you had a great time at WS!

I'm so bummed kimpossible is gone :sad1: I just did it for the first time back in April and couldn't wait to do the rest of the countries missed with the fam. Oh well.

Random question...did they change the missions in the countries frequently or have more than one that you could get? Because that was definitely not our France mission!

On a happier note, all your drinks looked delish!

The Phineas and Ferb missions should be pretty similar, so your family can still enjoy it!

I think there are a few different effects in each country so not every mission is 100% the same, though the storyline is.

Okay you seriously had the exact afternoon at Epcot that I want to have on one of my upcoming trips. Nothing but adult beverages and exploring the WS. Can you believe we've never done Kim Possible? And I guess we'll never get the chance since it will soon be Phineas and Ferb, though I think the missions are staying the same, so we'll give it a shot.

We've also never been to La Cava (horrifying :scared1: for two adults who travel to Disney with no kids).

I loved that Ben called you on the WS phone! Great timing.

I highly recommend you visit La Cava! It is such a relaxing place, and the CMs there are always great.

I wasn't so surprised that they let him chase the ducks, but when he came soooo close to squashing that little baby- I just couldn't stand by and watch.

Mark very quickly got over his embarrassment- before too long, he was no longer hiding to listen to the Kimmunicator :rotfl:

He might not like it cause the phone makes a fairly loud, distinctive ring that lets everyone around now what you're up to. Though this might change once the Agent P changes are done...

All the drinks were over the course of a pretty long time, and mixed in with plenty of food and water! I try not to over do it and end up like the girl you described!

The margarita sampler is awesome- they took it off the menu, but I asked for it once and the bartender made it for me :thumbsup2

Day 3

Once again, Mark’s early rising got me up and out of bed earlier than what is strictly normal for me. I didn’t complain, though- Just got up and got ready to go. We woke up so early, that we had plenty of time before leaving for the Magic Kingdom. And remembering what a failure getting breakfast at DHS the day before had been, we decided to use this time wisely… and headed to Olivia’s for breakfast.

I truly, truly, truly adore this restaurant. It is a place I have been longing for since coming home from this trip, and wish that I could pop in for breakfast in real life. Sigh…
We got to the restaurant just as it opened, and were the second group seated. Since it was so early, and still a comfortable temperature, we opted to sit outside. Our server was awesome and came right over to take our drink order. Brace yourselves: we both got bloody Mary’s. When they were brought to us, I asked the server what mix they use and he told me- but I forget. He also mentioned all the things they add to make them super delicious. Then he told us that he is self-conscious and didn’t want to watch us try them (since the servers make the drinks in the morning), so he stepped back inside. Well, he needn’t have worried because they were AWESOME. We told him so when he came back and quickly placed our order: Mark had Eggs Benedict again (Olivia’s is known for this dish, and it is wonderful) and I had the Banana Bread French Toast. If you don’t like sweet- don’t order this. But if you do, hang on to your hats cause it is yumm-tastic. The Bahamian rum sauce on top adds to the sweetness, but it also adds to the flavor. When I first tasted it, I didn’t think there was any way I could finish because of how sweet the dish was, but it was addictive, and I did eat most of it, before passing it over to Mark for him to finish. I think my ideal breakfast would be a ½ order of Benedict and ½ of this. Droooooooool.

With our bellies full and our taste buds happy, we took the super quick walk to the bus stop, and a MK bus was just pulling up. We hopped aboard and after a pretty short jaunt, found ourselves heading through the turnstiles in time for the opening show!

This was one of the few (maybe only?) times Ben made it with us into a park.

IMG_7412.jpg

Since I don’t carry a bag around to the parks, and Mark only brought his this day, poor Ben just didn’t quite get to see as much of WDW as we thought he would…

While we were being wished a ‘Good Morning, Good Moooor-ning’ I teared up, as usual. I just love that show. ‘Magic wrapped up in PIXIE dust’ gets me every single time.
We enjoyed our stroll up Main Street, and headed enjoyed short waits since the park just opened. We ended up riding most everything in Fantasyland, which was especially fun since I don’t always ride these because of how long the waits get.

Mark had not experienced the interactive queue at Haunted Mansion before, so we decided to check it out. And we brought Ben along.

When we headed into the stretching room, we watched a woman in a giant ECV with an awning drive in with her headlight on. She kept the light on the whole time, and I thought it was really funny. Mark joked about whether she was going to ride it right onto the ride, and we both got the hilarious visual of seeing her in a doom buggy, still sitting in the ECV with the light on. It had me cracking up!

After visiting with our ghostly friends, we decided to grab lunch at Columbia Harbor House. I love this place, so it was my call- Mark would have much rather done another TS meal, I am sure. But I ordered my usual Anchors Aweigh, and I think he got the fried fish/chicken basket. We had a tough time finding a table, until I led us upstairs. Mark was very impressed because he didn’t know there was seating up there. We ate our lunch, but I could tell Mark wasn’t thrilled with his meal. Oh wellsies!

After lunch, Mark wanted to check out Tom Sawyers Island- a place he insists that he had never been, but I still maintain we journeyed over there on a previous trip. We hopped on a raft (which I have officially decided is the single hottest spot in all of WDW) and made the trip over to the island. We explored every nook and cranny that we could.

IMG_7419.jpg

We barely made it to the dock to wait for a raft before melting.

IMG_7420.jpg

But we put our best game faces on and made it back to Frontierland.

IMG_7421.jpg

I believe it was around here that we found Mark’s stunt double. And we loved his hat.

IMG_7423.jpg

We realized that there was a favorite we hadn’t done yet, and it would be a good chance to get out of the heat. So off to Carousel of Progress we went!

IMG_7416.jpg

We both love this, and it was a nice break. Though I will admit I got a TEENY bit annoyed by Mark singing along rather loudly. I was hot and cranky and it was just rubbing me the wrong way. But I very politely did not say anything and enjoyed the show despite the added soundtrack. Once COP was over, we decided to leave the park.

Our plan for dinner had been to head to DtD and visit Raglan Road… but we realized that by the time we went and ate, we wouldn’t be able to go to another park that evening. Instead, we opted to head to Epcot and have dinner at the World Showcase, in a place new to the both of us!

Day 3, Part 2: "And that's when my feet exploded..."

OMG, some of your pictures on that last update are just cracking me up!

The first one of Ben... he aaaaaaaalmost has quite the girlish figure. It had me do a double take. :rotfl2:

Mark's stunt double. :lmao: Did they pose like that on purpose? I mean... they are standing perfectly alike.

It does look pretty warm that day. You both seem to be a bit red. Oh...and I totally agree with you.. that raft to TSI is soooo hot!!!!

So much to comment on!

1) Bethenny—I love her. I lost my addiction to RH of (insert city here) a few months back, but I still love Bethenny. She seems like such a real person.
2) I love the picture of Ben that you took along.
3) Skymall has the greatest things—I really want the garden yeti
4) I am convinced that the FastPASS expiration thing is just to make more money. You have people wandering around in a certain area waiting for their FP time. For example, you bought a drink while waiting for EE. What do you think of this theory?
5) Mark’s expressions are amazing.
6) Interesting about the TWI and splitting the check. Another thing to remember when I go with my large group! Fight for my rights, LOL!
7) How were the buses at OKW? The points you need to stay there are few, so it may be a good option for us. Thoughts?
8) I can’t believe how much you get done everyday! I feel like the crowds were low and/or you were running to each attraction!
9) Being a sweaty beast sucks! The worst part is my clothing is limited because of the modesty standards of my church. No tanks for me! Whenever I need a break I will take a pit stop in the Germany bathroom.
10) Love that Ben called the UK phone booths!

I've always heard amazing things about Olivia's breakfast - someday I have to go there!!

Looks like Ben was able to visit a bit of MK! You guys are hilarious!

Olivia's sounds so good; Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast meal, any I'm really picky about the way the sauce tastes, so now I really wanna try some and see how it is.

Glad you were able to go on all the Fantasyland rides, they get busy so quickly!

I can only imagine how amusing the bright ECV light was in the HM intro. It's supposed to be dark and daunting, and here you have this huge beam shining through the room. :rotfl:

Can't wait to see where you ate at World Showcase. (Based on your PTR I have a guess, but we'll see. :confused3)

Hahaha... yes, Ben looks quite lovely there in his blue shirt!
We were trying to be not-too-obvious about taking a picture of Mark's twin... but clearly, he saw the camera :lmao:

Not a bad theory on the FP... AK is the park where I noticed the most people just hanging out by the FP return. People were literally waiting in a line at the FP entrance to the Safari until their time came up. It was weird. And we just walked by them, because ours were already valid.

Buses at OKW are not horrible, but not ideal. There are so many internal stops, that depending on where you are, it takes twice as long to get to a park. They do come frequently, though. Honestly, I don't think I'll stay there again without a car.

Do it- it's sooooo good!

Eggs Benedict is my favorite, too. The hollandaise sauce at Olivia's is described as 'key lime', which I can't say I noticed, but it was very tasty. And something about the english muffins were just extra scrumptious.

I always hear such great things about Olivia's, I should check it out someday! :cool1:

I LOVE the opening show at MK! I cry every time I see it! It's just so good!

Haha, love the picture of Mark's double! That guy doesn't look too happy, though!

Wow, that banana bread french toast sounds FANTASTIC. I might have to make a beeline for Olivias one morning if we have it free. Sounds delish! I love rum sauce - bananas foster is my absolutely favorite dessert.

MK looks like fun! Sounds like our typical mornings - 9AM openings are too late for us, usually up by 6 or so! :lmao:

The fact that mark's double wasn't in on it makes it even funnier.

LOL at Mark's stunt double!

I love that you guys carried a picture of Ben around the parks and had him 'pose' for pictures. Classic.

I've never made the trek over to Tom Sawyer Island. I think I tried once and the raft was taking way too long so I bailed.

But with a hat like that, he's gotta be a fun-loving dude! :rotfl:

It is sooooooo good! I want some, right now.

I am not a morning person. A little better at Disney, but still not a morning person. Mark kinda made the early days happen.

The fact that mark's double wasn't in on it makes it even funnier.

I know- I wish I could show him that pic!

Tom's Island is pretty neat, but definitely NOT a warm weather activity.

I must say, after reading your TR (among others), I have NO desire to go to TSI...I think we'll find enough heat without it next week!
