Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

Question- due to the current flight issues, we might be changing our incoming flight from late night to early morning. I would need to work from the resort. I'm assuming if we get there at 10:30 am the room will not be ready. Is there a quiet area to work?

Not really.

Your best bet would probably be the seating area in the old concierge area immediately to the left as you walk in the front door of the lobby.

McDonald's is a short walk away but I doubt there would be any quiet areas to work there either.

You could always go to CSR or one of the deluxe ones by bus to get your work done. They have some nice quieter working areas.

Which park do you think will be easiest to get to from All Star Sports via bus for EE on the Sunday of the marathon in January? I'm concerned about all the road closures and delays I've read about.

Logically I would think Animal Kingdom.

Animal Kingdom is SO close to Sports.

Very little "road time".

If you were staying at the Sports, planning on hitting Disney Studios for May the 4th, and you use a scooter, how crazy do you think the bus situation will be? How early should I be at the stop so I don't have to wait multiple buses?

We are staying at AS Sports in late February and are flying on Southwest. I would like to use the service where they pick up our luggage at the airport and deliver it to the room. How do we go about getting the tags mailed to us? Do they automatically do that? I have done the online check-in on the site, but there was nowhere to indicate that we wanted to use this.

Refurbishment Begins at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Pool

A refurbishment of the Surfboard Bay Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort announced back in 2024 is now underway. The pool closed in January 2026 and will remain closed until late April

Surfboard Bay Pool Refurbishment

The pool was drained, revealing the concrete floor with wave designs. Crews have started to remove the flooring and walls at one end, although have left the blue-green waves intact. Some of the tile trim, which displays the depth of the water, has also been removed.

The kiddie pool is also closed for maintenance. The Grand Slam Leisure Pool and other All-Star Resorts pools remain open.
