please note...when i die...i TOTALLY want a concert thrown in my honor.
in all seriousness though - no, this ISN'T a funeral, it's a way for fans to mourn and be together. i think it will be much more of a celebration of his music and performances, and a way of remembering his life.
i mean, i'm still pretty young so death really isn't something i think about on a daily basis, but i've told my brother a million times - when i die, i don't want a sad funeral, i want everyone to just get together and partyyyy and talk about how amazing & funny i was, hahaha.

(note: these plans may change, but HOLY MOLY do funerals freak me out. that scene is just not for me!!)
i mean, come on people...the guy was an entertainer...you don't think he'd be THRILLED to know that all of these other artists and his fans were going to come out in full force to honor him?
i do agree though, the coverage has been a wee ridiculous. but i think after this big thing, and all of the ruckus around it, people will be over it. "Going out with a bang", as it were.
