I'm not a Michael Jackson fan, but as a musician I have to say that the main thing that really matters to me about any occasion is the music. My wedding was all about the music, I'm sure my memorial service will be as well. The people doing the music, readings, etc. won't be celebrities, but since that's who Michael Jackson associated with, it makes sense that it's all celebrities there. I think it makes total sense to have a concert to memorialize a musician - it wouldn't make sense to me NOT to make music a major focus of the service.

Excellent point where is Oprah? Donations? Doesn't charity begin at home? Honestly it really upsets me that whomever organized this was so immune to the economic plight of the city .

Looks to me like they could feed the masses just with the cost of the casket which I might add will be destroyed because it is rumored he will be creamated. That means the casket will appear for auction because they use only a very flamable and cheap casket for creamation.

I heard the guy that is over the police say that they had used their entire budget for this year to cover this shananigan. They should have charged admission if it was going to empty the cities pockets. I think it is hilarious that many of the tickets were up on e-bay and craigslist

The supposed "gold" casket is actually gold plated, but I guess it could catch a fortune on E-bay, since MJ laid in is, or so we think he did, who knows if he is really in there
