Do all rides with a height requirement do a rider/child switch?

I am aware of no WDW attractions with a height requirement that do not have child swap.

Yes, even SDMT. We got a rider swap on our May, 2014 trip. DS was only 36 inches. When we asked for the swap they made us get him out of the stroller to check his height, but once he didn't make it we got the swap.

I have seen some post that they just swap Magic Bands to accomplish this.

Just switch bands/tickets when you're ready to ride.

Will this work though if I have 2 adults sitting out? I can send my son with my mom's band with my husband while she and I wait with my daughter. Then can she and I use the RS pass with my son?

Our FP times are different, I should mention that. I've been working on overlapping them with no luck so far.

Wait, so what if you have a kid who makes the height requirement but is too chicken to go on the ride? Can you not do rider swap then?

I don't know for sure, but from what I have heard some CMs will allow that, some won't. The website says you can use rider switch for people who don't want to ride, but it's really up to the CM.

I hope so!!! My son is just 44" tall, so tall enough for most MK rides, but there is NO WAY IN HELL that he'll go on either Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain ... We're bringing a stroller for him, so I may just have him sit in it when we get the rider switch and hopefully the cast member won't ask to measure him or anything.

it may be a pain but you could always print out a copy from the wdw website where it states the rider swap can be used for those who do not reach requirements or for those that do not wish to ride and show the cast member if they try to deny you.

Keep in mind that SDMT does not send out empty seats. So someone will end up sitting next to a stranger. That doesn't bother me, but it may not be ok with someone else. And the seats are small, so you are squished in pretty tight.

The web site says one thing and official printed materials say another. the reality is that if the CM doesn't give you the rider switch, you don't get the rider switch. Guest Relations told me that all accommodations are at the discretion of the ride CM's.

The website is constantly wrong. I don't see a printout helping. CMs will go off their training.

No, if the child is tall enough to ride, you won't be able to use rider swap.
