"Diva" Trip - "Cliff Notes" p.236 OLD THREAD!

Good morning ladies!

Maddie has her first day of T-ball practice. This should be interesting. She hates sports but wanted to play because her cousin, Taylor, is playing. She played soccer for awhile when she was 4 but mostly whined and decided during the first game to lay on the field and pretend to nap. So that was the end of soccer. :lmao:We will see how t-ball works out.

So I was thinking....
Are any other divas doing Weight Watchers? I was just curious. I signed up not too long ago and love it so much. :lovestruc

Hope you all have a nice Saturday! :flower3:

Okay, this may be a dumb question..but what is an earthquake kit?

Jessica, I love your new siggie:thumbsup2

An earthquake kit is something that you make up with supplies for you and your family to survive for a certain period of time in case of a natural disaster. We in California naturally call them earthquake kits - could be hurricane kits in the south, tornado kits in the midwest - you get the idea. I have first aid kit, water, MRE's, space blankets, crank radio, pet food, etc. and I store it in a huge rubbermaid container.

Seriously, though, he is pretty hot (right?) and the nicest person I have ever met. So while I am constantly homesick and in a state of absolute culture shock everyday, I guess it's worth it.

And he has a great energy! When Marie was talking to him on the phone while in our room and he was so bubbly about her trip with us and his. It was super cute to hear:lovestruc

Last night I had my freshman girls over (I am staff for our church youth group). We had planned a movie night to watch Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail - a staple of my youth group days....
We all told them ahead of time what movie we were watching and to let their parents know. It is rated PG - no nudity or curse words. Well....one parent (who sent their daughter) emailed me to say that it was highly inappropriate movie and I should go to the Christian book store to find a better choice. Rude! She could have kept her daughter at home when we had 9 other girls ready to watch that movie and ended up having to watch Megamind instead. Some of the other parents were upset because they were actually excited for their kids to finally see this classic comedy. Sometimes having so many homeschooled kids in our group is a bummer cause there are always a few parents who, imho, shelter their kids to the extreme.

The rain canceled opening day for baseball for my son, Brydon so we are going to spring clean today! Starting with a trip to Ikea for a bookshelf. I LOVE that store!!! I hope the rest of you have productive days!

Thank you!!

Speaking of earthquake kits ... my dad has us all prepared for the zombie apocalypse. Well, something like that. But he's very into his emergency preparedness kits and made them for the entire family. He's got BAB, the Big *** Bag that's all ready and then there's his garage that has never once housed a car but is all ready for a natural disaster and ... I could go on and on.

In other news, a friend of mine passed along a job opening at the car dealership where she works and I actually just applied. I haven't filled out a job application since just before my 18th birthday! That was nerve-racking. Keeping my fingers crossed.

:goodvibes Hope you get it ....Does it pay enough to cover losing your target employee discount?

Haha, considering the hours I've been getting at Target and then how much I can end up spending there () just because I'm there it's a big jump up if I get it. Higher salary, set hours, not tempting to go shopping while I'm there ...

Was sitting here enjoying the respite from the rain but no... here it comes again! My poor dog does not understand why we don't go for our normal long walk on the levee when it is raining!
Aww, poor pup. Hope the rain doesn't last too long. Send it my way. I love the rain! And we rarely get any here.

I'm thinking of signing up for it. I never have before, but right now I'm desperate. Nothing I've tried before is working for me. My motivation is non-existent. I would only be able to do it online though. So we'll see.
How did Maddie do today? Did she like it? The soccer story was too funny. lol

I agree. Why ruin the fun of the entire group for just one girl? That's not really fair.
How's the Spring cleaning coming? If you still have any energy left, feel free to come do my house next. ;)

Sending lucky thoughts and pixie dust your way!!!

It's so quiet on the thread today! Hopefully that means everyone is out doing something fun and exciting today. :)

We are being L-A-Z-Y at my house. The twins are playing outside, Noelle went to a soccer game and Adam is playing a new video game. It's very windy out, so it's probably just as well we didn't have any real plans.

Rochelle posted a pic on FB of the fried green tomato sandwich at Hungry Bear, as well as the cupcake. She said the sweet potato fries were good and she liked the sandwich. Yay! A good review. I was happy to hear that. Makes me even more excited to add HB to our schedule for next time. :thumbsup2

I would like to think I am ready for the Zombie apocalypse - however my supply of weapons is limited to a few knives.

Good luck on the job :)

Beth~ Couldn't stay evil for long, huh?

Spring cleaning has been going well. We bought the bookshelf I wanted, got it home and assembled, but the cubbys are too small for the baskets we already had - so now its off to target to get different baskets. I was just focusing on the boys room today and we were able to get rid of a ton of stuff - it looks so much better! Unfortunatly I think my craft room is next :scared1:

Hope you get it That would be wonderful! Looks like your Dad goes a bit overboard LOL but hey maybe someday you will be glad he did...How was he during the whole Y2K thing?

We drove out to the hot springs today for a lunch & a swim and all my muscles are all relaxed. We had a nice day! It was good to get out and just do something for fun.

Just a quick hello & bye!!!

Going out to get my sing on!!! (and maybe a drink or two)

Oh, my evil side is always there.......some days I just hide it better than others.

Your first sentence about the Zombies cracked me up. That needs to be a tag!
(do you hear that Tag Fairy?)

You wild woman you! ;) Have fun.

Just wanted to wish Katie a fun trip, and calm seas!! Can't wait to see your pics, and hear all about it, especially Laila's first time on the "big boat". :)

And Chris, safe travels to WDW! Have fun, and enjoy your time alone as well as with good friends. :wizard:

Well....one parent (who sent their daughter) emailed me to say that it was highly inappropriate movie and I should go to the Christian book store to find a better choice.

I would have told that parent that you're sorry her daughter would have to miss the movie night and that hopefully she'll make the next one.
If the parent truly thought the movie was inappropriate she would have kept her daughter home.
Makes me wonder if she is always like that, wanting things to change just for her wishes with no concern for others.

Your rainbow cupcakes were so pretty. I do something like that but instead of layering each color I drop small spoonfuls of each color over and over and it ends up looking like a mosiac. I make them every Easter. I found really cute cupcake holders at Walmart today so I can't wait to make them.

I was hoping to see the big moon tonight but it's cloudy here.

:goodvibes Evening Ladies,

The moon was so brilliant tonight, it took my breathe away, just a lovely site. I am so glad it was a clear night here.

Had all the windows and doors open all day here, it was chilly, but no rain and just pur sunshine. Started my summer Kitchen project. We are re-doing our kitchen cabinets and I have the job of taking about 4 layers of unsightly and very sticky shelf paper / lining. I got 1.5 drawers done out ouf about 25 :lmao:

Spent the rest of the day being Lazy!

Jessica good luck on your potential job.
Sherri the hot springs sound so nice, so relaxing!

Not sure everything I else I read, I am tired, but I hopw you all had a joyous day!

Hi everyone. Hope everyones weekend is less eventful than mine!

Thanks Beth :). We leave tomorrow, but our trip has drastically changed. Devin broke this leg on Friday and needless to say there has been a lot of scrambling to get him fixed and change plans during our cruise . So ultimately this cruise is going to be a very relaxing one!!!

Such is life, but on the positive side I get to bring a lot less luggage since I only have to bring 1 of each shoe for Devin (and his size 13 shoes take up a lot of room) and no jeans (since they don't fit over his temporary cast).

I"ll try to check in tomorrow before I leave, but if I don't, hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll be back in a week :thumbsup2.
