Hi everyone. Hope everyones weekend is less eventful than mine!

Thanks Beth :). We leave tomorrow, but our trip has drastically changed. Devin broke this leg on Friday and needless to say there has been a lot of scrambling to get him fixed and change plans during our cruise . So ultimately this cruise is going to be a very relaxing one!!!

Such is life, but on the positive side I get to bring a lot less luggage since I only have to bring 1 of each shoe for Devin (and his size 13 shoes take up a lot of room) and no jeans (since they don't fit over his temporary cast).

I"ll try to check in tomorrow before I leave, but if I don't, hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll be back in a week :thumbsup2.

OMG what a thing to have happen right before you leave! I admire your attitude as you just made it sound like a small bump in the road...then found the positive side (less shoes LOL) Good for you! Enjoy your relaxing!

Spring cleaning has been going well. We bought the bookshelf I wanted, got it home and assembled, but the cubbys are too small for the baskets we already had - so now its off to target to get different baskets. I was just focusing on the boys room today and we were able to get rid of a ton of stuff - it looks so much better! Unfortunatly I think my craft room is next :scared1:

You want to help with my spring cleaning, by any chance :rolleyes1

We drove out to the hot springs today for a lunch & a swim and all my muscles are all relaxed. We had a nice day! It was good to get out and just do something for fun.

I love hot springs. We live close to Harrison Hot Springs. Don't get there very often, but we have a hot tub for those times :rotfl:

Been working on my trip report all day......have 6 of the 8 days done!! :cool1:

Yay for trip reports!

Had all the windows and doors open all day here, it was chilly, but no rain and just pur sunshine. Started my summer Kitchen project. We are re-doing our kitchen cabinets and I have the job of taking about 4 layers of unsightly and very sticky shelf paper / lining. I got 1.5 drawers done out ouf about 25 :lmao:

Sunny and chilly here yesterday too. Good luck on the kitchen project!

OMG :scared1: Hopefully he's okay (other than the broken leg!). How did he do that?? This is one of my biggest fears. I hear you on the size 13 shoes, sista!!! How the heck did they get so dang big??

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Morning everyone.

Gosh Katie that is awful about your son! I agree glad you are taking it in stride and can still have fun! Poor kid he won't be able to go swimming or anything!! :( Well hopefully you can do as you said and still have a nice relaxing time!!

It has just been CRAZY here! As I mentioned we had such a NICE February and got really spoiled. It was nice and sunny and even warm a few days and then we are DEF making up for it in March!! Sheesh! It has been non-stop rain and storms!

I was on my way to mom and dad's yesterday to check on their place and got a call from Shelby's best friend's mom and she asked if Shelby could go with them to a mission. They are doing a mission report and her son's mission is really close (San Jose) so they wanted to go see it in person etc. So Shelby was REALLY excited. I have lived in CA most of my life but have never been to a mission believe it or not! So I was excited for her that she got to go!! They went and enjoyed it and then went to the Jelly Belly factory.

Shane had to work part of the day so Katy and I hung out and just watched movies and then when he got home we just stayed in and stayed DRY!

Last night though the winds picked up and I didn't sleep at ALL last night!! They were at least 40 mph and our house is reall old (built in 1890) so it really creaks and moans with the winds and we have a lot of large old trees and I was SO nervous that one was going to fall on the house. We already had a HUGE limb fall on shane's truck and completely destroy it about 5 years ago so it is a real fear! Then our power went out around 2 a.m. and when it came back on the satellite dish came on and the sound was SUPER loud and about woke the dead LOL. Although it didn't wake anyone but ME! Scary!! It seems my group would sleep through a tornado!! Then our stupid fire alarm decided to start chirping. So it was a LOOOONG night!!

Then this morning we went out and checked on mom and dad's place since they have lost several trees and large limbs in storms as well but luckily all was well at their place! We ran to the store and now made it home just in timeas the next wave of rain hit!

Today we are just going to be playing board games and again trying to stay dry!

Next week is going to be an interesting week! I have to go in to work tomorrow but then on Wed Katy has her big field trip to SF so I am really excited. I am chaperoning and we are going down on buses to the new museum. I have been there once with the kids and it is really neat! The only thing I am a bit nervous about is I have to be AT the school at 6:45 and my parents are out of town and shelby can't be at school till 8:15 so I am going to have to drop her off at a friend's house at like 6 a.m. and she is going to take her to school. I just hate having to burden them so early but I really have no choice. Shane goes to work at 4 and no one else is around to do it. So I hope it all goes ok. And we won't be back till almost 5 so she will have to pick her up and take her to work as well and I will pick her up when we get back!

Then on Friday is Shelby's 2nd piano recital. I am so bummed my parents are going to miss it but excited to see how she does!

So pretty exciting week on tap.

Anyway that's bout it for me.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Katie! OMG you are so calm! I would be freaking out! I hope that everything goes well and you are able to have a great time on the cruise.

Katie - so sorry to hear about Devin - hope all works out on the cruise! I hear you on the size 13 shoes - my son just hit size 13 (and he is only a freshman!) - and my husband is size 15!! We need a suitcase just for their shoes!

Have a great time!:goodvibes

Happy Sunday, ladies!! :cool1:

I have tons of errands to do today. Darn kids, I keep buying groceries and they just keep eating them. :confused3 And also lots of laundry. Fun, fun, fun. lol

Hope you all have a great day!

I do something like that but instead of layering each color I drop small spoonfuls of each color over and over and it ends up looking like a mosiac. I make them every Easter. I found really cute cupcake holders at Walmart today so I can't wait to make them.
I'll be at Walmart today so I'll have to look for their cupcake holders. Those cupcakes you make sound really cute too!

Good luck! Sounds like a lot of work, but I'm sure in the end it will look wonderful!

 Oh no, Katie. I am so sorry. You sound a lot more cool, calm and collected than I would be. Bummer for Devin, but I hope you all still have a great time. I'm sure you will. :wizard:

Talk to ya later everyone! :hippie:

Aw, you two make a very nice looking couple.:goodvibes
I'm sure you are freezing, especially coming from Florida. But I'm sure he is worth it. I miss Utah. We used to go down to Temple Square all the time, especially in my student ward days...I miss that! There really is a lot to appreciate in Utah. A great place to visit.:thumbsup2 My ex-husband's family is from Provo, Centerville, and Salt Lake. I'm in Boise and I must say it's nice to have another diva in the area.
There is a lot to appreciate here. I get sad that folks that live here take it all for granted. That, and I have had a lot of trouble making close friends. People stay here forever and it seems like if you didn't grow up with anyone they know, they tend to pass you over. That's the one rite of passage you have to pass before someone will even give you the time of day... it's totally weird to me! I also HATE gossip. It's definitely a cultural thing. Some things are taboo where I'm from and they're not here.

Greg and I are very religious, and enjoy the access we have to our religion here. Also, we love hiking, camping, kayaking, snowboarding... so, Utah is a great place to live for that. We're still looking for another couple or two (or more) that enjoy those things. But that's been extremely (and surprisingly) difficult.
Marie~ Good job this week!
I am from Brigham City, Utah, but moved to Washington in 7th grade. It is a beautiful state. How long have you lived there?
I've been here since August 2006. Met Greg 6 months later, and got married after I had been here about 2 years.
Great job on the weight loss!
Thanks!! I am super excited :cloud9:
And he has a great energy! When Marie was talking to him on the phone while in our room and he was so bubbly about her trip with us and his. It was super cute to hear:lovestruc
Yea, you told me you couldn't believe how much he was laughing. And I was like, "he was?"

You girls have been chatty since last tim I was on. Life is busy crazy like normal in the Baller household. Katie and I leave on the 31st for Ventura California, she was invited down as visiting royalty to a pageant down there. Really wanted to do Disneyland one day but really don't want to pay for one day and especially during spring break. We have annual passes to Universal so I guess we will just go there.

Today is Matt's first baseball scrimage on his new select team. It's not raining so hopefully it will be semi nice out. I am going to be so glad when we are down to 1 sport with him. We only have one more week of wrestling and he made it to districts.

I guess I would be bored if I didn't have anything to do!

Hi ladies! :flower3:

My Sunday has been uneventful as usual...went to church and made cookies with Maddie before she went to her dad's. Now I have a plateful of peanut butter cookies with chocolate frosting.

Marie---I know what you mean by the mentality there because it is the same here in Idaho. When I got married it was hard to find "couple" friends to hang with so we mostly did things alone and had Madelyn right away so we were too busy with that to care about having friends. But I do know what you mean. Hang in there!

Beth---if you are wanting to do WW I have a points plus calculator you can have. I have the WW app on my iphone so I don't need it anymore. Just let me know if you want it.:goodvibes

I'm marinating in front of the tv tonight. Anyone else with me? :happytv:

Wow, sounds like you are very busy!
How old is your son? Maddie just started t-ball and I hope she turns out loving it as much as I loved playing. Softball and baseball are huge in my family. Hope your son had a good time playing today! :thumbsup2

Is your daughter in pageants? Ventura is soooo pretty! :lovestruc Hope the rain takes a break down there. :wizard:

Well, our area had wind gusts last night between 55 and 60MPH. I finally got to sleep sometime after midnight. I was surprised we didn't have the power go out at all, but our lines *are* underground here. But that doesn't always mean it will stay on. Go figure. Got up this morning and DH was already up and I asked him if he had been outside to check the house and yard and he said he had and everything looked good. We had pieces of shingle from the neighbors' houses on our lawn and a piece of the next door patio cover on our driveway, but he said all our stuff was fine. So I am making my tea and look out the back door and TWO FREAKIN SECTIONS OF THE FENCE ARE HALF WAY DOWN. Everything is fine? Sheesh. Men. So I have that propped back up. Hopefully it will hang in there. Same two sections that came down a few years ago. Neighbor behind us wanted to fix it himself and it only cost me $50, so I'm good with it lasting only 3 years. LOL Neighbor 2 doors down lost their whole side fence and we had a house around the corner with the tree in their front yard down, but it was small and didn't cause damage to anything but itself and the lawn.

It was like that where we lived in Traverse City, Michigan. I grew up in SoCal, but all my family lives in MI so we moved there from '04 to '07. I left after 3 years of living there with no more friends than I had when we first moved!! :sad2:
Luckily I had lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. or it would have been very lonely there. Good luck to you, hope you find another fun couple to hang with.

I guess I would be bored if I didn't have anything to do!
You are always so busy! I don't know how you do it. Have fun in Ventura.

Sure, I'd love it! Do you still have my address? Thanks! I need to give it a try at least.

I finally finished errands and laundry, so we've been discussing our plans for our Carlsbad/San Diego trip in May. I made a list of everything I want to do. :goodvibes Now I need to go through that list and figure out what we can realistically do. LOL They don't often match up. :rotfl:

We also rented "Unstoppable" so we are going to watch that soon. What are you watching?

Well, our area had wind gusts last night between 55 and 60MPH. I finally got to sleep sometime after midnight.
Wow, that's pretty strong! Glad nothing was too damaged, and I hope the fence holds up, at least for awhile.

:wave2: Hope everyone's enjoyed their weekend. I can't believe I slept almost the whole day away. I think I was up around noon for an hour or two and then I fell back asleep until 6p!!

We are re-doing our kitchen cabinets and I have the job of taking about 4 layers of unsightly and very sticky shelf paper / lining. I got 1.5 drawers done out ouf about 25 :lmao:
I heard that if you heat the paper up with a blow dryer they come off easy.
Devin broke this leg on Friday .
Oh that's too bad. Hopefully he'll still enjoy the cruise and be able to get around ok.
our house is reall old (built in 1890)
Wow that is an old house ! Any interesting history about it or ghosts?:rotfl: I'd love to see a picture of it. I love old houses !

The rain hasn't stopped all day. Sarah and I went to Simi for my Mom's 87th birthday and driving in the rain was terrible. Lots of accidents on the freeway.

:thumbsup2 I tried that, but eventually went to an iron, put a towel down first, and then ironed it, and it seemed to peel up better, but it is still so tedious because we think that there are 4 different layers.

:goodvibes Evening ladies

Went on a long nice walk today n the sunshine with my mom, sister, neice and my dog Wilson. It was nice, a little chilly but nice.

Other than that did the usual weekly grocery shopping, and now getting ready to get clothes ready for work tomorrow.

Can not believe the weekend went this fast, hope you all had a great one!

Sitting here listening to the rain and relaxing before the start of another week. My daughter is at her first official visit to USF with their track team. Missing her for one night (going to really miss her when she starts school) I have been reading thru post and trying to plan when we are going up to Disneyland for the day for my daughters 18th birthday.

All the ladies on this board seem very supportive, encouraging, nice. I am glad I found you guys.
Chris, Very sorry for your loss. :grouphug: I'm just making it a group hug because you know we are all sending you one.

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd drop in and say, "Hi!" It's been a rough week and I'm about 20 pages behind on here already! I started the Biggest Loser on the W.I.S.H. section of the forums. This is my first week, and I lost 3.8 lbs! With any luck, nobody will recognize me (at least not right away) at the 2012 meet & greet :-)

Now, to try and get caught up with y'all.

Good luck with the weight loss. Haven't checked out W.I.S.H. section yet but keep hearring about it need to check it out.

So I was thinking....
Are any other divas doing Weight Watchers? I was just curious. I signed up not too long ago and love it so much.
:flower3:

I used to do weight watchers (did good when on the program) stopped when wamu changed to chase last year and payments stopped going thru. There was a lot of stress at work at the time and then got emberassed because I gained back 30 of the 60 pounds I lost. I plan on going back to learn about the new point system.

I saw the fried
green tomato sandwich yesterday. Someone posted a pic online and I was like  :rotfl: I want to try it! The cupcake looks so cute! :) I'm glad they changed the menu. I ate there a few months ago and the food was not tasty. I'm hoping that this new one is better :)

I want to eat here when I go for my daughters birthday.

:wave2: Hope everyone's enjoyed their weekend. I can't believe I slept almost the whole day away. I think I was up around noon for an hour or two and then I fell back asleep until 6p!!
Wow, you must've really been tired! Glad you got some much needed rest.

Ghosts?? :hyper: Actually, as much as I love spooky things, living in a house that old would totally freak me out. I'd visit, but not stay. ;)
Happy Birthday to your mom! Glad you and Sarah made it there and back okay.

Can not believe the weekend went this fast, hope you all had a great one!
It always goes by too fast......

Nighty night, ladies!! :cloud9:

This is a great group and we are glad you found us, too! :goodvibes Good luck to your daughter and the track team. :cheer2:

Oh, and I hear ya on the weight gain. I did really well two years ago and lost about 50 lbs. Kept it off for awhile, but in the past 8 months, I've gained most of it back. Not even sure why, just lost my motivation. :sad2:
Anyway, we did it once, we can do it again, right?!?!? Let's both keep at it. :thumbsup2

Ok, now I'm off to bed. lol
