Can't wait til our July stay at the Lodge. So glad to keep reading positive things as we love POR so going outside our comfort zone.

Can someone please tell me about the boat that goes to CR? We are going to CR for Pirates and Pals and I am wondering if this is a viable option for getting to and from the CR.

This is how I feel. My home resorts are POR/FQ so this will also be my first time at WL. I am really excited! So many great reviews of this resort.

There is a boat that travels between the Contemporary, Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge - actually, it is two boats. One travels from WL to CR to FW and the other travels from WL to FW to CR. It is a 5 minute boat ride to CR from WL with the one boat and about a 15-20 minute boat ride if you catch the boat that goes to FW first. We've taken the boat to CR several times in order to get on the monorail. It is an easy way to get there. :)

We are still at the Lodge for one more night so I checked the outlets. One outlet is down low on the wall next to one of the beds. It has 2 plugs so you may want to bring a couple of outlet covers. The rest are either hidden behind a nightstand or up higher so shouldn't be a problem with a crawling child.
Thank you so much!

*another* question. Looks like we may be arriving a day earlier due to airline tickets. If we wanted to go with a value resort for our first night (we won't be getting in until midnight) how do you handle transferring between two disney properties? Do they have any services to help you with that or are you on your own for transporting your luggage?

When leaving hotel #1, leave your luggage with Bell Services. Tell them you want it transferred to hotel #2. They will take care of it!

Go about your day and when returning to hotel #2, retrieve your bags from Bell Services.

Please be aware that bags are transferred only late afternoon. We had to wait until 4 PM on time for our bags to arrive. That's why recommend going on with your day, and only getting your bags when you're done.

Does anyone know how long it will take for the scaffolding to move to another area? We just put a call in with room requests and the area we were hoping for is currently behind that scaffolding (or at least close to it). Are those rooms occupied right now or out of service?

I'm very happy to hear that they are changing out mattresses. Will this be happening for the entire resort or just specific rooms?

We are so excited to be staying at WL. Way out of our comfort zone as CBR is typically our "home away from home" but wanted to change things up and the summer discount offer made that possible for us. :)

Kook: sorry I missed wishing you safe travels and a wonderful trip! You are missing some crazy cold temps back here in NoVA. I wore my winter coat, hat, and gloves to go food shopping today!
Looks like you are going to have some nice weather this week, with only Thursday having rain, and up to the upper 80's on Friday! Enjoy!!! Looking forward to your reports.

Thanks to everyone for sharing info and excitement over upcoming trips. It keeps those of us without tickers looking forward to when we will be doing the same. :)

When we were there in January the scaffolding was in front of the rooms that are in the south wing, inner courtyard, upper streams area. It was in front of the lobby windows in December and last September they were in front of the woods view rooms that face the villas in the south wing. I'm pretty sure that those rooms were taken out of the room rotation while the scaffolding was in front of them. We didn't see anyone staying in them.

The scaffolding really wasn't very obtrusive. It almost blends in with the lodge.

Can anyone advise where the nearest place to WL is to add old non exp to magic bands. We will be arriving late afternoon from UK. We have added our park tickets already to magic bands but we have some old tickets that have water park days left on ( non exp) is this something guest services can do at wilderness lodge? Or will we have to go somewhere else. We plan on going to the water park the next morning- thank you for your help
We tried to get old non expire tickets added to our magic bands before our July 2014 vacation. The tickets had no park days left, only 'extras' water park/disney quest/golf. Someone from Disney walked us through adding the tickets but the 'extras' did not show up as available in MDE. We used the regular tickets to go to TL, and will keep doing that until the 'extras' are used up (we have a lot!). Maybe things have changed, but I don't think so.

Hi all- I'm new to this group and I haven't been on these boards since our last Disney trip in 2009. First of all, I would like to say thank you to Kook for an amazing amount of specific and updated information about WL! I have read thorough all of the posts and found many other members to be extremely helpful as well.
We will be stay at WL for the first time 8/7-8/16, club level standard room. This was only possible with the 30% off and free hopper pin code. We are beyond excited! We have never stayed at a deluxe resort before and CL is something we never thought we'd be able to afford. Ever.
It will be me, DH, DS13, and DD10.
A have a couple of quick questions I was hoping some of you helpful folks would know:
Are all standard club level rooms on the 7th floor? (I know deluxe rooms on any floor have CL access). We want to be on the 7th floor..
Is skim milk available?
TIA!

Thank you! The way I see it, I can look at construction signs here at home, or while enjoying my family in Disney World!

So, right now, the scaffolding is where? We are checking in about a month or a little less from now. (of course I realize that the scaffolding could be moved by that time..)

The last picture I saw had showed the scaffolding in front of the Roaring forks, Artist Point area of the resort.

Haven't visited the thread in awhile (and have to update the signature) but we are getting close to our next trip to the Lodge (April 25)! We had originally booked last October but switched out to the Grand RPC due to the refurb--geez I still have to post my review - it was great :)

Can't wait to be back, see the new pool, and the great OFC staff!

Thanks for that info! Doesn't sound as if that has caused any rooms to be taken out of circulation, but then, I would have to look at the resort map to see if I'm correct.

The scaffolding goes all the way to the roof, so the 4th through 7th floors would be affected. They are sealing up cracks and gaps to keep critters out of the roof area and also making other repairs to all the balconies and building fronts.

Do they charge the usual extra person fee for the deluxe rooms? If they do, then it would be $100 extra a night if you had 6 adults in the room?

They do charge the extra per person fee regardless of room capacity.

For instance, if you have 4 people in the room then the cost is $515.00
5 people in the room it's $540.00
6 people in the room it's $565.00

It's $25 per person, per night.

Welcome. You'll find everything you want to know about WL here, along with a lot of great people.

To answer your questions, all of the regular CL rooms are on the 7th floor, which requires CL access to get to and is where the CL lounge is. Also skim milk is available at Roaring Fork (The QS restaurant and mug refill area) and in the Mercantile (store in the lobby), and may be available in the CL lounge, but someone else will have to chime in on that.

Happy planning and enjoy your trip.
