Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

The update to My Disney Experience at the end of March 2017 included the ability to see your Disney resort hotel room number.

Ok thank you. Can't wait to see that in November since I can't get the texts and have never received the emails. It sucks being from Canada sometimes, lol.

Would have been very funny if the text had shown a totally different room number! I wouldn't put it past Disney's IT.

I usually opt for the email rather than a text. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. I'm looking forward to seeing if the MDE update actually shows the room number when I take my trip later this month.

This actually did happen to me at CBR. I was standing at the front desk AFTER 3 pm and was being personally told that my room was not ready yet. As she was saying that, I got a text that my room was ready and was given a room number. I told the CM. She informed me that was not my room and the text had been sent in error because my room was not ready. o_O Right hand, meet left.

With all the talk about room numbers in the MDE app I figure this is as good a time as any to ask if our June check in plan sound correct or if we should try do anything differently.

We have 2 rooms booked for the middle of June and our top priority is getting connecting rooms. When we booked the rooms we made sure that connecting rooms was our only request make, in hoping that will increase our chances of getting them. For check in our best option would be to check in thru the front desk, correct? I know we could also check in, in advance online and skip the front desk, but we figured that would just be asking for trouble. My brother booked the rooms and I'll need to connect my credit card to my MB, so we'll need to go to the front desk on our arrival day anyways.

we received the text and email almost simultaneously last week. Our room was ready about 8:30am!

In MDE I marked that having the room ready early was more important than my other requests. It worked :)

Awesome! I was actually going to ask about how early check-in can be. We're going to drive in and stay off site the night before the Disney vacation starts and I'd love to drop off bags in an early ready room before heading to the parks.

We're also going to attempt to hide it from DD until we hit the road. That is if I can keep from spilling the beans. :/

Hi everyone! My crew (9 of us) are headed to the POP the first week of August and we are excited! I have a few questions to ask. If anyone can assist I would appreciate it.

We never have room service because I have to do remote work and I don't want to disassemble my set up (which I would have to) if I allowed Mouse keeping in. A couple of years ago, I would receive a bag of towels and soap on the door in lieu of the service. We were there last year and that didn't happen and it was kind of a pain to have to ask for specific items. The cast member didn't bring a cart, she carried 2 towels to my room - that's it. Has anyone gotten the bag of stuff instead of calling for 2 washcloths each time I need them? lol
I am traveling with family members who need connecting rooms - 2 adults and 2 kids, elderly family that have separate rooms but help each other, etc. We did place a request on the reservation but is there a way to up the chances? Early check in or something of that nature?
I used Garden Grocer for my sons trip this Spring. Nice service but am interested in using Primenow instead for this trip. Is there a list of approved delivery vendors or are any of them ok?

Thanks for your help. Love my Pop!

We're in the same situation and it looks like your doing what we did.
  1. Did you place any other requests on their reservation? If connecting rooms is your only request it might increase your chances of getting it.
  2. Arriving earlier definitely wouldn't hurt. We booked a 7am flight exactly for that reason.
  3. I'd also check in thru the front desk, not skip it, so you actually talk with a person. I asked the same question a few posts up and have yet to get a response.

Where are you seeing your resort room number on MDE? Do you need to be there/arriving that day before it shows up?

Hi all! I'm booked for a stay at AKL November 4-12 this year, but I'm off work the 1-4 as well. So I'm strongly considering heading down a few days before my family, catching the last Halloween party, and staying at Pop Century! It would be easy to add some days to my current park hopper/enjoy some time at the resorts, and the hotel room would only be $423 which seems pretty reasonable.

I last stayed at Pop Century way back in 2005 when I went with a friend for our high school graduation trip! So long ago.

While it's nice to go directly to the room when you can, I'd agree that with your situation visiting the front desk would be a good idea, so you are set with what you need.

Sounds like fun! Enjoy!!

Just received ANOTHER email from Disney regarding our upcoming August stay at Pop. Nothing new. Just reiterating work will be done at the resort. Construction noise will not be heard from dusk to 9am. It was signed, general manager Jeff Korte.

I'm just curious how many more I'll receive until we check in :D

I know I recieved two - one on March 21st, and one on April 25th, for a stay starting on June 1st. I'm eager to see if they send me another notice about it here near the end of May! XD

We stay at Pop every year and have 2 or 3 rooms each trip. Have never had a problem getting towels or toiletries in quantity. We do call for towels daily and they always ask how many we need. We always tell them how many of us there are and that we are going to the pool so we need xtra, lol. If we are not in the room when they bring them, they just put them on one of the beds. Also the last few trips when we went to the pool there were carts with towels by the pool area and we helped ourselves.
My daughter is the one who always gets the big bag of toiletries. Don't know exactly what she tells them, lol.
