As a direct member does this bother you or the more the merrier?

I'm surprised that in 3 pages, no one's brought up the fact that while DVC's lounge doesn't have restrooms, I'll bet that the AP lounge at Restaurant Marakesh does. I suppose I could be a little jealous about not having restrooms, but since the ones outside the DVC lounge are nice, quiet, and clean, it's not a big deal.
The best part of the lounge at DL is the bathrooms. Was very sad to learn no bathrooms at WDW lounges

More the merrier. Glad AP holders getting perks too. no idea why DVC people would have any issues w AP lounges/perks.

Why did they close it?? Sad I will never get to experience it, didn't even know it was closed 😪
My understanding (?) is that the nation of Morocco & WDW couldn't hammer out a deal to main the restaurant or the entire pavillion. It was originally designed by Morocco to be a respectful artful representation of their culture. Maybe others know more.
The orig WS countries were involved in design of their Pavillions & CMs were only from those nations.
I really miss all of the orig intent of EPCOT.

It does bother me because I just bought 3 sorcerers passes for our upcoming trip which ends a few days before these start. Bummer, skunked again!

I'm a DVC owner but not technically a "member"
I’m confused by this statement.

Do you mean you are an owner that doesn’t qualify for membership extras (blue card)?

If so you are still a member.

Are you an associate member? If so you wouldn’t be an owner.

I feel the same. I drug my family into the EPCOT lounge on our first DVC trip. We got a drink, stared at each other for a few minutes, then left. We haven't felt the need to go back. It was a nice break for a few minutes from the heat, but I'd rather be at Spice Road Table for a break eating falafel. IMO anything that absorbs people off the walkways is a good thing, so I'm happy for those that want these lounges.
We love stopping here and having a pitcher of sangria at one of the tables next to the water :)

Starting May 14, Annual Passholders will be able to
enjoy an Annual Passholder Lounge as part of
V.I.Passholder Days!

This year, the lounge will be opening in the Morocco
Pavilion, inside Restaurant Marrakesh. It will be
open daily from 11am to 7pm, and you might even see
characters while you're there!

V.l.Passholder Days will also bring perks like additional
discounts to Passholders, a new Passholder magnet
Passholder-exclusive snacks, and special photo ops!

The lounge will be open from May 14-July 13, so it's
time to start making plans to get to EPCOT!
Not sure why this would bother anyone, if anything it will take some pressure off the DVC lounge. I'm a direct member and a AP holder and I would probably use the AP lounge as it's larger and easier to get into without a wait.

just visited.. here is what did bother me. At the DVC lounge only one person has to be a member and your entire party is allowed in. At the AP lounge they would not let my daughter in - even though she is listed on my resort reservation. I understand not bringing a crowd, but those listed on your resort reservation should be allowed in with AP. I mean how crowded could it have been? We are all DVC but my daughter is a FL resident and doesn’t visit as often so she usually only buys the FL resident ticket.

I had the same experience with the AP lounge in Morocco. I was hoping to bring my husband in with me, and they would not allow him in. I used the restroom there and grabbed a quick cup of water. Then I explained to the check-in team about the great experience we had at the MK DVC lounge in Frontierland. The DVC team allowed us to have our entire party join us, (DH and I are both DVC members). We did not have to wait, and my 86 year old father was able to get a much needed break. I let the AP team know how much I appreciated that about the DVC lounge. The gal at Morocco informed that they had just changed the amount of people allowed in. Later on in the afternoon, our entire party was allowed in at the DVC lounge in the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT. Everyone that checked us in was super friendly and professional, and we were grateful for the break. I let them know how great they were, and never returned to the AP lounge.

My guess is because the number of AP holders is vastly larger than DVC.

At least it’s good to know for me for the future if I am ever there as I am the only one who ever has an AP if the group I travel with regularly.
