OR you can walk over to CR and call from there.
IIRC Uber said they sometimes have trouble getting into the CR to pick up or drop off - the guard at the gate requires an ID and ADR or room reservation at times? Maybe its resolved now, but just an FYI. (No issue at TTC).

ok, i also read about checking in at the online check in at the hotel...is this checking in with an actual person as well?

If you check in online prior to arriving, you may get a text with your room number. If you do, you can bypass all check in counters/people once you get there and head straight to your room. If you check in online prior to arriving, you may not get a text with your room number. If you don't, go to the counter marked "online check in" when you get there and speak to an actual person to get your room number. If you don't check in online prior to arriving, you just go up to a general check in counter and speak to a person.

Just to add, you can always go up to a check in counter regardless of whether you checked in online or not. Some people like the personal contact and directions to their room

Also if you are not from the US then you will not receive the text. They will only text to US numbers. I so wish we could get the text, I'm not a fan of the check in counter after doing it so many times.

Best standard room area to request at check in? We will have a car so closeness to buses is not critical, but to everything pop and hippidy pool is important.

Personally we request 60's building, lake view. Close to all you're looking for, quiet and beautiful view also. If you want to be closer to your car you may wish to request 50's section.

I've also go a text that my room wasn't ready yet, and then never received a text that it was. The person at the counter was as confused as I was, saying I should have got a text but didn't, so you just never know. lol

Yeah ... me too. But I finally got the text/email my room was ready .... 4 days later on our last night. :rotfl2:

PS I was in the right room.

Would have been very funny if the text had shown a totally different room number! I wouldn't put it past Disney's IT.

I usually opt for the email rather than a text. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. I'm looking forward to seeing if the MDE update actually shows the room number when I take my trip later this month.

Has anyone been to Pop lately on the dining plan? We are going to August and I was wondering if they are allowing substitutions for the drink since the plan includes a refillable mug.

During my April trip a few weeks ago, I saw my assigned room (at All-Star Music) in MDE, however, I did not receive the "room ready" text. Since I knew the room number from MDE, I went directly to the room anyway but unfortunately none of our Magic Bands worked to open the door. I needed to visit the check-in desk in order to get access to the room.

Interesting. Why put the room number on there if you aren't going to have access to the room? Or maybe they didn't get all the bugs worked out of the system yet? I'll just hope for my normal email then.

The allowed substitutions in Frebrary :)

Curious- what kinds of things did they allow you to substitute for? I've always selected another type of drink - orange juice, milk, etc as my beverage. Do they allow you to substitute something other than an beverage?

Off the top of my head:
Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich
Hummus/Veggies
Side Salad
Grapes

Pretty sure you can sub any 1 SC item for your beverage. I picked up a stomach virus and had leftover credits. I was able to exchange 1 QS credit for 3 snack items. I got trail mix and cookies.

Yes, you're quite right that you can substitute 3 snacks for 1 quick service meal.

The original poster asked if you could make a substitution for a drink since the plan includes a refillable mug.

I thought possibly you were purchasing something other than a drink in place of the drink portion of a quick service meal.

Were they allowing that @jsmla? Eg. Could you get a hamburger and fries plus an ice cream sandwich and count it all as 1 quick service meal?

My understanding is that you cannot switch out anything in a quick service meal in place of the drink except with another type of drink.

PS - One of our favourite places to go to switch out QS credits is the Main Street Bakery. Great bang for your buck with 3 delicious treats!

Yes, all of the things on the list were subbed in place of the included beverage using a QS credit. I don't drink juice and rarely soda and subbed my drink out out every time I ate at Pop.

Sorry if the above was confusing. I did use a QS credit for the trail mix/cookies transaction but the hummus, salad, grapes and ice cream were all "purchased" in place of the beverage included with a QS credit.

Just remembered another-got a yogurt parfait for the next morning in place of a beverage one evening.

Every time when we eat at pop we grab a monster drink and that is part of the meal.

When did they start putting the room number in MDE? At the end of September it never showed a room number in my MDE?

The update to My Disney Experience at the end of March 2017 included the ability to see your Disney resort hotel room number.
