How far of a walk to you think it is from LM to the main building?

Of course it depends on how fast you walk but anywhere from 4-8 minutes would be my guess. Depending how far you are back too.

We stay in the back of 70s and 50's on 2 different trips to Pop and the walk was about 5 minutes. We like to be in the action, so we preferred 1st floor poolside at Pop. I'm sure we'll be fine at Aoa though. My DD is very excited to be staying in a Mermaid room. In fact I told her I had to switch my client there today. (which means she has to be quiet while I'm on the phone) and she started crying, thinking they would take our room. I assured her that 1 they were going a different time than us, and 2 that they have several mermaid rooms. :rotfl2:

Ack!! Really?? On the phone with my TA! Hope she can find me something!
*Eta -- never should have booked through a Ta. I can't call Disney myself, my TA is on vacation and the others in the office are unwilling to help me. I'm going to have to try in the morning.

I would book online to hold my room and either cancel with the TA when you get a chance, or have her move you if the room is still available and then cancel the online reservation. Either way, you lock in your room and don't risk losing your dates or sell out. You get the deposit back. :)

You can also have your new reservation transfered over to your TA when she gets back...after she cancels the other...if you go that route.

That's what I did. My TA is good about doing things right away, but I don't think she'd get my message tonight, so I booked it tonight so I have nothing to worry about, and I'll just tell her tomorrow that she needs to change my resort reservation. Again.

"When you Wish Upon A Star".... I am soooo happy that all of you got FD! MerryWeather, I just came on now to let you and the others know that I just got off of the Disney site and you can get FD!!!! LOL :lmao: But, I see you already know. And Cinderella73, too! :thumbsup2 I just put in some late Sept. dates and and asked for LM and it came up with free QS; I was so excited to get on here and tell everyone. Now I'll just tell you all how very happy I am for all of you. So my next goal is to 'Wish' for FD for the Nov to Dec time period; if they grant that wish, my friends and I will be set for a terrific holiday trip! It will make it about $1000.00 less for us, which means my two friends will be able to do a lot more shopping at DTD! :santa:

Thanks for the floor plans link. It looks like there won't be any problem getting my wheelchair into the room. I'm also wondering about a roll away cot. It may be able to fit one of them, too. I'm hoping it will anyway.
I tried to print out a couple of copies of the resort map (thanks for that link also!), but for some reason my printer wouldn't copy it out properly??? :confused3 Any ideas on why? It copies everything else without problem. I really want to thank everyone on this thread. I'm still pretty new to this site and all of you have been so nice to deal with. It's like we're all discovering and going to explore this new resort together. A true Disney adventure; it's really exciting! :yay:

I set my printer on landscape so it would print the whole image. Is your cutting the image off ? Also maybe try checking what size paper your printer is set to. On my printer I have to click preferences and then click off portrait and go onto landscape. Hope that helps some.

Okay, I think I can manage. It's just so hard for me to picture the time of walking distance just by pictures I've seen :).

Does anyone know of a link for a full aerial view of AOA? I can find partial, but I can't find the whole resort. I am trying to get an idea on how far the LM rooms are from the main building. Comparing the map posted a page back to ASMo map, it looks like the LM rooms are a little bit further than Herbie the Lovebug is from the main building at ASMo, which is all of 5-6 minutes.
I know I just can't wait until May 31st when we can get pictures and feedback. I'm so excited to "know" everything. :goodvibes

I did this on google earth and then path it out from the center of the little mermaid section to the middle of the main building and it is about 1360 feet or 445 yards or .25 miles. :)

I'm not sure. I think it has something to do with the picture opening up in like a slideshow form but I know. That is why I posted the link instead of just posting the picture because I could not get it to save no matter what I did. I even looked for the picture in the google image search and I did not find it.:confused3

I got it...Here is just the picture of the map. I right clicked on the small pic and then clicked on open link in new tab and there it is. It is very big so if you are printing it make sure you make it smaller. :-)

I wish Disney would make a value themed hotel with larger rooms. I love the theming of the values but the price just kills it for me. With a party of 5 I have to get a suite then when I add on the price of changing the dinning plan its cheaper to go to a mod.

Yeah I know its a suite versus a room but to me a room is to sleep in.

Maybe I will have to go with out kids:lmao:

I hear you! We were booked in one room at POR, garden view, for 14 nights and free dining. I insanely switched to AOA, 2 rooms and had to upgrade our dining and our total is now +$1100!!! :scared1:
Dh says he likes that we will have two rooms and the newness of it all. The themes will be incredible for our kids, but $1100 difference...for a downgrade?
I'm still digesting it and looking every now and then at our old room that is still up for grabs. LOL I *never* pay retail for anything and I'm a major bargain shopper and this one really really hurts.

glitzybabes,
Thanks for the image! I think the walk from LM to the main building should not take more than 10 minutes. I'm tempted to switch my resort to AoA!!

Oh man! Your TA should be able to answer email while on vacation or have a designated person to take care of her clients while she is gone. Do you have her phone number. I was on vacation the last week of March and was on the phone with clients making changes one morning. It just comes with the job.
The only exception would be if she is out of country or on a cruise, but then she should have someone at her agency there to help out.
Well there is another agent who works in the same office, but she wasn't answering, their calls were re-routed to another branch of the same company. When i got someone there, she was too busy with clients sitting in front of her to help me. I know there's nothing she could have done differently, it just ticks me off that I can't do anything to my own vacation since it's booked through her. She is somewhere in the Caribbean I believe. I'm waiting... 20 more minutes until their office opens this morning and I'm going to have my hand on the phone and already dialed!

I was very tempted, I knew I would get my deposit back from Disney but I wasn't sure about cancelling with the TA if I would get my entire deposit back from her, you know? Maybe I would, maybe not but I didn't want to risk losing it. If I missed out on a room last night because of this I'll have something to say though.
