Disney's Art of Animation Resort hotel

Thanks for the floor plans link. It looks like there won't be any problem getting my wheelchair into the room. I'm also wondering about a roll away cot. It may be able to fit one of them, too. I'm hoping it will anyway.
I tried to print out a couple of copies of the resort map (thanks for that link also!), but for some reason my printer wouldn't copy it out properly??? :confused3 Any ideas on why? It copies everything else without problem. I really want to thank everyone on this thread. I'm still pretty new to this site and all of you have been so nice to deal with. It's like we're all discovering and going to explore this new resort together. A true Disney adventure; it's really exciting! :yay:

Are you bringing a roll away cot? If not, Values don't have them and I doubt it would fit anyways. But you can fit an airmatress. But if you have a wheel chair, then it may not fit either. (I'm talking about the Little Mermaid rooms.)

Thanks for those links! I'm excited about three things from them.

1. I see closets!
2. Looks like Nemo rooms will all have a decent view!
3. Pool Bar!

I noticed this too.. even if you get a 'bad' view in the Nemo section, you won't get a parking lot.

A general question that was previously touched on-- will there be room anywhere for a double- sized air mattress? Our room will be 6 girls for an all-girls trip, and I'm considering bring the mattress for myself to sleep on and for extra sitting room. I'm starting to get a little nervous about size-- not enough seats for everyone in the living room, not enough closets, etc :sad1:

I got it...Here is just the picture of the map. I right clicked on the small pic and then clicked on open link in new tab and there it is. It is very big so if you are printing it make sure you make it smaller. :-)

Just switched our ressie and have the standard LM room!

I was told that there isn't a fridge in the room but they are available at checkin for $10.00 a day and will be paid directly to the hotel. I know the news of them having fridges in the rooms has been out for a bit, but wasn't sure if anyone was paying close attention to that detail. The CM i spoke wiht a half hour ago mentioned it a few times.

Just giving every a heads up!!

Check or call to make sure I wasn'tdelusional hearing that.

That's crazy! If they're adding fridges to the other values, surely AoA wouldn't open without them!

I'd probably move my reservation to Pop if this is the case.

I am currently booked 9/29 to 10/6 at PORFQ and I see the Little Mermaid rooms are currently available for my dates.

We are celebrating my DD's 7th Birthday. We normally stay at the POP, but when FD was released, it was not available. I was really looking forward to staying at PORFQ as it would be our first time there, but I think my DD would enjoy AOA much better and after all, this is her birthday celebration.

I am on the edge of switching my reservation. What do you all think? I know its hard since it is a new resort, but that is also part of the appeal.

Please help.

Well, I just had my reservation changed. We're now set to stay at AoA (LM section). Keeping my fingers crossed for a special promotion for the fall. From the pics we've been seeing, the decor at AoA looks to be very entertaining. We usually stay at the All Stars, so this will be a change for us. Really looking forward to it. I've also read that the food court will be somewhat different. Healthier food choices or something along those lines. Good luck on your decision! Even if you choose not to change your resort, you and your daughter can always hop on the bus to AoA for a visit!

I am wondering if anybody has started an official AOA info thread. I am thinking I would like to switch our reservation over to 2 suites at AOA instead of 2 rooms at Pop, but I am wondering about connection rooms, etc. There is 7 in our party so I would definitely have to do 2 suites. Any info is appreciated! Also, before I get a lecture, I know there is no guarantee of connecting or adjoining rooms ;)

My guess is that this is a case of a CM who doesn't know about the policy change regarding fridges in value rooms. That seems to happen a lot with Disney's phone reps. I seriously doubt Disney intends to provide fridges in all the value properties except for the most expensive of the bunch!

I think so too. Disney's site still lists fridges as available for an extra charge, but I'm sure once they're officially in all the rooms, it will be changed and CMs will be informed.

With deluxe dining I think the fridge is going to be a really nice added bonus since I know I'm going to have leftovers at almost every meal.

Ahhhhh finally! After wayyy too many calls and waiting too many hours for call-backs that never came, I drove to my TA's office and plunked myself down in front of her until I got switched!!

Sept. 16-23 in a Little Mermaid room! YAY!

We'll be there in the LM section 9/24-29 - just changed our ressies over this morning from All Star Sports - I'm so excited to stay at a new resort and this one looks awesome!

Just switched our reservations at Pop Century with free dining to AOA. Thanks for the heads up on the LM section opening up.:worship: We are going Sept 26th - Oct 3rd .
I asked the reservation person if they will have fridges in the rooms and he said YES ! :woohoo::cheer2:

Just changed our reservations from Beach Club to AoA. We are very excited! We are staying in the nemo suites. I think my kids are going to love the themeing. We will be there Sept 22-30

I am 99% this thread has become the defacto official AoA thread. :goodvibes

When I made our reservations at AoA in LM rooms I asked if there was going to be a fridge and the CM said yes. She didn't say anything about it being an extra charge. But I will check again. I don't think I will pay extra for a fridge. I will just switch our reservations, because really if they come out with FD during our stay you can stay at a moderate resort with FD cheaper then AoA LM rooms and also have a fridge free of charge. But DD4 will be upset about not sleeping in a LM room.
