Looks like Sarge's Surplus Hut might be just dressing for the pool pump room:

Was coming to post wdwnewstoday link ......was disappointed that there was no pictures of the cars pool..

Well AoA friends, sadly I am out of this thread for now. For our August trip after going back and forth several times we've booked 2 rooms at Port Orleans Riverside for only 150 more as we were upgrading to the regular dining anyway.
I am happier with this decision as it is probably one of my favourite resorts, and it gives our party a little more separation. Staying in the AoA suites still meant that we had 2 teenagers sleeping in the living area along with all of their stuff. There is also a younger brother in the equation and it's much easier if he shares a room with us as he runs on our schedule. Plus as fun as the pool looked, he is a waterslide junkie and loves the ones at the mods.

AoA isn't out forever, but we'll try it when we aren't bringing an extra teen along (it's dd's friend this time).

I am still eagerly awaiting all of the trip reports and pictures. We have AP's and I am considering a Christmas trip to check out all of the decorations and activities this year. So you never know;)

ETA) I was able to do this because the Canadian free dining offer was extended and a bunch of standard view rooms became available. Previously it had only been Royal Rooms which were a lot more.

Hi!

This is going to be so different for me! I've been going to WDW pretty much every other year since 1972. Mostly staying in Deluxe places like the Poly, Boardwalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, etc. It was made affordable since my Mom and I split the cost of the room.

Seven years ago, Mom passed away and my brother and sister in law gave me a week at their condo in the Orange Lake Resort and I've been to WDW every year that way.

This year, I'll be staying back on property for the first time in a long time and I'm booked into a LM room for October 16-24 since it actually makes this vacation affordable for me.

I'm rather excited about staying on property again and not having to rent a car. (though I might rent one for a day or two to do some offsite shopping)

I have looked at the map and the LM rooms do look like a bit of a walk but, with the ability to have any packages you buy sent to the resort to be picked up, it will make it easier than having to carry them all the way from the park to your room.

I do hope that this resort, since it is about the same size as POP, will have its own bus system. I have heard that the POP buses are full enough with their own customers!

A couple of questions for those in the know: Will the LM rooms have a mini fridge? Are there elevators in the buildings?

I'm so looking forward to seeing pictures from everyone's trips to AOA and hearing about the food. The food pictures have looked yummy!

I'm with everyone else... I hardly can wait for my vacation!!!

I cannot wait to book for a room only LM room in February!! My youngest dd loves Ariel and am going to stay here 1-2 nights with no parks! cannot wait to see pics from everyone's stays here!!

Am I the only one doing a non park stay here just to check it out? My daughter will freak out with excitement when she sees the huge Ariel. Had to convince dh to do it when we are going back in October. lol

This thread is making me do excited for my Christmas stay at AoA this year!!
And i didn't think it was even possible to become more excited than I already am! :cheer2:

Can't wait to hear the goss from the lucky ducks that get to stay there in a week's time popcorn::

I just want to know if they have "real" ice cream and not only the gelato.:rotfl:

We are doing a non park day too and I can't wait to just explore the resort!

I will be in the LM section sept 28th-oct 5th and extremely excited .The best part about this thread is that we see these and love the pictures but it does not compare to be right in the middle of it all so nothing here can be considered a spoiler.

Just booked a Nemo room for a 8/28-9/4 stay, the kids are going to freak out when we get there. They have no idea we're going to Disney, it is going to be awesome. We were planning on going to the Dolphin instead, but the 15% off deal for AoA pushed us over the edge.:yay:

A last week....
Pop and AoA are planned to be sister resorts at this time...sharing pools. Not definite yet, but it is the early plan. They are not supposed to be sharing buses though.

Again???... Have they been changing minds if whether both resorts to be sisters or separate resorts? The last time I heard/read was they weren't (maybe not from this thread). But either way I'm sure there's pros and cons if they are sister resorts. For sure the pool at AoA will be packed... but I'm sure as years go by it won't be because the AoA won't be new anymore. Is AoA LM more expensive than POP?
