Here is what I got from some friedns who toured Ao
A last week....
Pop and AoA are planned to be sister resorts at this time...sharing pools. Not definite yet, but it is the early plan. They are not supposed to be sharing buses though.

I don't know why that would be the case since the Big Blue rules specifically say only for AoA guest use and you can only enter the pool with an AoA rfid card. I would say that the CM giving the tour was not correct.

Again???... Have they been changing minds if whether both resorts to be sisters or separate resorts? The last time I heard/read was they weren't (maybe not from this thread). But either way I'm sure there's pros and cons if they are sister resorts. For sure the pool at AoA will be packed... but I'm sure as years go by it won't be because the AoA won't be new anymore. Is AoA LM more expensive than POP?

Yes, the LM standard rooms are $10-$20 more depending on the time of year, I think.

Agree..
EDIT TO ADD: I asked the folks at POP thread if they know any latest news about both resorts being a sister resorts.. Just to confirm if this is true or not.. But since you mentioned about "for AoA guest use.." it sounds like they will not be sisters.

Thank you for your quick response! :)

There have been several discussions over whether they will or will not be sister resorts, share pools, share busses, etc....The last "semi-official" word was they will not share either, since as stated above, the Nemo pool sign specifically states it is for AoA guests only.

A couple of questions for those in the know: Will the LM rooms have a mini fridge? Are there elevators in the buildings?

We don't know for sure that the LM rooms will have a mini fridge, but with other Value resorts adding them, we can hope/expect that LM rooms will have them.

The LM buildings have elevators.

I did ask her about the card for the pool and she didn't seem to know about that. These were CM's that strictly do tours for Travel agents. When I went last year, they knew some inside info...but other things they didn't know about at all...like the testing of the refillable mugs at AS sports with the chip in them. They did tell us then (it was Aug) that the plan was to put fridges in Values eventually. Which is now happening.

If you can't use the pool I don't see why they would be called sister resorts though. She did say the bridge will open though.

I called and asked specifically if the rooms would have fridges and the CM said that the would as they were putting fridges in all of the value resorts this year.:)

we currently have reservations at POP in a prefered room....my only question is how the LM rooms/buildings are located at AOA. will they be way out there, causing us to walk quite a way for the buses and the food areas.....if the distance is close to the same, I am really thinking about changing our reservations(it will actually be cheaper, not by much but a little).....

The LM rooms are the furthest away from Animation Hall, but comparable to the 90's section of POP to Classic Hall distance-wise.

just made resie's for Nov 31 and Dec 1st quickie weekend fly down trip. Surprising my wife with a getaway. Two disadultkids in a LM room :hippie:
Don't plan on being in the room much though. Short weekend trips to the world are commando adventures! Deluxe dining...now I have to make my ADR's.

Maybe it's the same CM that told me on the phone yesterday that I could not request a lake view room (not as a category, just as a request) because he just toured AoA and no one has a view of any lakes. When I said, fine, please just put I don't want to overlook the pool. He told me that was silly since the buildings have interior hallways, there's no way you'd hear noise from the pool. Cool that AoA apparently has soundproof windows.

Well the CM's that took them on the tour... their sole job is to educate travel agents. They people do know a lot, but not everything.

You also have to a TA with a card too...meaning, not just any travel agent can get it. It takes a few years usually for most to earn enough to qualify for the card....and it depends on the agency they work for as well.
