I have two kids DD6 and DS8. I am considering getting a single stroller and having them take turns on the longer days with it. I am curious though, is it big enough that my DD could sit on my DS lap occassionally?

Also, how do you deal with the stroller on the longer line rides?

It will be a tight fit. My DS7 was complaining her head hitting the top canopy and it can't be removed.

I'm sure you can squeeze two of them on their, but it will be tight.

My wife and I were interested in renting off site. We saw a few of these around the park and they looked much more comfortable than Disney's.

I would honestly have to say no, neither child will fit by themself, better off together. At the end of one of our DHS days, there were several strollers sitting by the entrance that had been abandoned for the day. I had dd5 (a week away from 6) sit in them both. She would have been very uncomfortable in the single stroller - her head hit the top and her legs were scrunched up or hanging off the end and she filled the seat completely. She wasn't as uncomfortable in the double but her head still hit the top. There is no way my average size ds8 could have ridden in either one.

I'm in a similar situation- my DD will be 5 and is about 42lbs, my DS will be 9 but looks like a 6 or 7 year old (he wears size 7 clothes) and is under 50lbs. We have a 2 week vacation planned and am worried they might tire of walking by the end.

Suggestions? Does anyone have pics of current WDW strollers? Or would the Orlando rentals be better? Single or double?

Thank you!!!

:)

One could fit, but not both. On our last trip, my sister rented one for my younger niece. Both of my girls were able to fit comfortably by themselves in the single stroller just fine. My oldest daughter is 9. She is 48" tall and weighs 54lbs. My youngest daughter is 8. She is 47" and weighs 70lbs.
My girls fit fine in a double together. I got one for them to use in EPCOT. It was much hotter than they are used to and it was a very long day.

other then size, does $31 for a double stroller rental sound too high? Try a rental offsite, or a wheelchair for $10.

Personally I wouldn't rent a stroller for those ages, if I can walk so can they.

Strollers aren't allowed in lines so there isn't anything to deal with in lines. They get parked before getting into the line.

Children need the strollers.. You are going to be walking up to 5 miles in the larger parks. I am sorry, my DD5 could not walk 5 miles in the heat. I think the single stroller would fit one of them fine.

yes $31 is defiantely alot for a double stroller and I cringe at paying for it.
I knew that my girls would probably only need it for EPCOT. For some reason EPCOT gets to be too much for them. By the time we get to America it's mid day and they both run out of gas. So i just budget for a stroller for that one day. It is worth it for me and for them. There is no sense for me to bring anything from home or do any offsite rental for just one day. I find that the WDW strollers are so durable and I dont have to worry about taking an offsite rental on the monorail, bus, tram, etc.
One year we did so the length of stay pass. You still pay alot, but you can at least save a little bit that way.

Me too! :rotfl: EPCOT is a tiring park.

..and only rented once - and that was in EPCOT. We brought a stroller for our 4 yr old but our 6 and 8 yr olds walked the whole trip. BUT on our last night we went to epcot for dinner and wanted to walk around world showcase and do the kidcot stamps... we paid the $31 and it was the best money I've spent! My 6 and 8yr old crammed in there and then when it got close to illuminations (9pm) the 4yr old was asleep and the other 2 had a blanket in there and just snuggled up. They are big kids, taller than the avg 6 & 8 yr old and although they were not that comfy they were much happier than walking!

I wouldnt have rented from offsite b/c its the only time in the 8 days that they really needed it. Animal Kingdom was a lot of walking too, but we sat and watched Nemo, Lion King, Tough to be a Bug etc so they rested more.
