Disney in May - Florida Schools

We were planning on doing a possible trip at BLT from May 12 - 17. I was not sure when Florida schools go on summer break and was hoping to avoid some of those crowds. Anyone have any idea when most schools let out in FL?

The last day of school for Orange County FL and Seminole County FL schools is June 9, 2010.

Sounds like a great time to go to avoid crowds, springbreak is over and all schools are still in session.

we went last year from may 9-15th and the crowds were very light! We loved every minute of it!

A great time - before my DS started elementary school, that's when we went! Here in Pinellas, school ends 6/9/10.

I also checked the calendars for Osceola and Polk counties and the last day of school is either 6/9 or 6/10.

It's the first week of June for majority of Florida Schools. There is a new state law stating that public schools can't start before August 20 something, so it pushes back our last day.

We went down sometime in the spring and dealt with early park closures because the local high schools were having grad parties or something. It was very annoying to pay the regular price of admission and have to leave early.

This was a few years ago so maybe they don't do it anymore?

I too remember the grad nights a couple of years ago and having to leave a park early but other than that the crowds were light and weather impeccable. Swimming during the day and parks in the evening. I can't wait!!! BLT, here we come. I just checked and grad nites for 2010 are at the MK on April 23,24 and April 30, May 1.

and May 1st 2010
