Disney Gift Card Deals

Ebates lists all the categories that are excluded at Target in the "special conditions" section before you click through to Target. I know the advice is to add a small inexpensive item, but we should add that it also needs to be an eligible item. I just finished buying a much needed set of towels for the master bath, one piece at a time.

For those who use ebates to get the reward on Target purchases. I forgot to add a small item last night while purchasing $150 eBay cards through Target (through ebates) so didn't get ebates. I would have earned $3 on that purchase. I guess you guys are buying small inexpensive items?? What do you buy that doesn't eat into the ebates entirely?

I don't buy a bunch of items that I will never use, like tons of unnecessary office supplies. It pretty much defeats the purpose of getting the eBates in the first place. And buying $500 in gift cards and throwing in a $0.25 item is probably not a good idea over the long run. I always buy items that I actually need, so I don't count them as "eating into my eBates." Those items just come out of my regular budget. And I often set the add on items for in store pickup since I shop at Target pretty regularly anyways. Then I shop in store for whatever else I need.

when going thru ebates I usually buy something that I would need or use anyway- stocking up on pens, tape, a towel,a throw rug, etc. Last visit I bought a pair of cute Disney sneakers! (this works for me b/c I usually have to round out my total to get above my gc amount anyway)

I'm not sure how you would do a successful search on this thread for this topic but others have reported what they have added on that qualifies for the rebate. I'm pretty sure deodorant and band-aids do not qualify.
I'm a beginner, so I don't know the ropes yet! :) I wish there was a way to go through these 600+ pages & find the most essential info. Any way to do a search on specific things like that?

There isn't really a single post because there isn't one single essential way to do this work. There are many options such as starting with a gc reseller like Raise or buying gc to earn fuel points or earning cards from sites like Swagbucks. And the route for churning isn't singular either. People use Kmart, Target, eBay, Best Buy, GamesStop, etc. And things are always changing. New deals come up or some avenues close.

The best way to learn is to read back 50 pages or so and then follow this thread moving forward as well. There is a learning curve and your success will in many ways be proportional to your time investment to learn. We are happy to answer questions that you have regarding specific elements, but no one is going to write a single post that gives you everything.

Marionette did a great post on page 470 which is a good overview. After you've read that, you can do a search for your more specific questions in the search feature.

If you are in Western PA with Giant Eagle. Use your Fuel perks card to get TARGET GIFT CARDS - double perks comes out to 12%. I use a Mastercard that is 3% fuel rebate so get at GETCO although if you have Chase Freedom next quarter is 5% rebate at Grocers. Then use the Target Gift Card on line to save the bonus 5%, report this to ebates for your bonus 2 percent and if you have a disney vacation account deposit the received gift cards for a bonus 2%. Total 22% savings.

I have purchased JUST gift cards thru target on ebates and simply report the transaction to ebates and they immediately deposit the amount into my ebates account. I never order anything extra....

Sometimes they will retract that money if they determine it is not eligible, especially if you report over and over again. It basically flags your account for further review.

Just keep in mind if it doesn't automatically credit (which it won't for a gift card purchase with no eligible item thrown in) they often require you to submit a copy of your order (i.e. Forward them the email confirmation of your order). When they see it is for gift cards them will not credit it. I speak from experience. I was buying clothes from target.com last fall and also ordered a $100 southwest gift card at the same time. My purchase did not Track automatically for some reason so I contacted ebates to get credit for the clothes purchase. I had to forward them the confirmation from target and they only credited the portion for the clothes purchase as gift cards are excluded (which I expected).

The categores that count for ebates are listed on the ebates site for Target. I tend to buy school or office supplies that we would actually buy anyways. And I don't always do it. Bought gift cards last night from Target and purposely did not go though ebates.

When talking about things to add in your cart, I too, find it difficult sometimes. A couple things I HAVE purchased:

Dish towels, makeup brush, under shirts, clearance clothes, holiday decor, picture frames, toys, Easter basket grass, plastic Easter eggs, stocking stuffers/basket stuffers, school supplies, lotion, candles.

I guess if you have young kids it's easier. I bought them each a small toy for their Easter baskets that I would have bought in store. I was able to purchase basket grass at .50 each. Most of my last 8 purchases or so have all had some sort of Easter related item.

Just a word of warning because this is the first time this has happened to me: I just purchased some under shirts for my husband and I left them on the counter for him to open. He was about to throw them away and pulled out what were essentially a Target shipping bag folded (3 of them). 3 $50 gift cards individually wrapped inside the bag that shipped the shirts.

My gift cards have ALWAYS come separately (one envelope for all $50 cards and one for all $100 cards) so just a warning for others.

I had to post quick and run earlier but coming back to this...I have bought:

~placemats & washclothes,
~toys (between my 4 kids and their friends, always a b-day party coming up and we need a gift),
~clearance clothes (great deals on pj's right now for next winter!)...socks, undies, tees
~party supplies (plates, napkins, balloons)
~school & office supplies...pencils, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, school glue, composition notebooks, index cards...Even if you do not have a need for these items, you can donate to your local school or church or a neighbor who has kids.

A couple of times I tried items that were more 'household' like garbage bags and paper plates. Those did not credit. Hand soap did not credit for me either.

There are so many things that we need & buy from Target that it shouldn't be difficult to buy something you need anyway, like deodorant, bandaids, pens, etc., right?

Beauty, Personal Care, and Office Supplies items will usually get you cash back. But I believe Household Essentials are excluded. Check the category that Target lists the item under to be sure.

I've always had hand soap credit, but always make sure they're categorized under Personal Care and not Household Essentials. Softsoap and up&up brands sell hand soap for under $1, and both have credited for me.

Maybe mine was a 'fluke' then. I ordered the up and up brand but once I saw it did not credit, I've not tried it again. I can always use more soap so it would be great if that worked also!

Fuel Perks only come out to 12% if you take full advantage of the 30 gallons! Great for those who can, but for those of us who cant (my car holds like 11-12 gallons and I don't buy cans worth of gas b/c I live in an apartment), it's not nearly as great of savings. Just wanted to point that out so people don't assume it is an automatic 12%. Great deal for those who can do it, though! Gas is a separate item in my budget so while it would be nice to save in that area, I just prefer the direct savings via Target!

I'm sure you're all aware of the Target gift card $50 for $40 on groupon. I got two gift cards on two separate Groupon accounts. I receive 5% cashback to my upromise account. I paid with my capital one that gets me an additional 1.5% cash back. Then received 5% off for red card. Saving a total of 30% on $100 Disney gift card.

Hey Guys, So I use to just buy all my GC from Kroger and get the fuel points. WOW have I been missing out my last 4 trips to WDW! So I just did my first order of $190 of Target Gift cards from Cardpool and purchased $200 of Disney GC for only $170 (had an extra coupon code for 5% off my first order at Cardpool)... So looking into this further I found thread and went back to page 470 and found all the EXTREMELY helpful posts by you guys. (THANK YOU) I'm SUPER UPSET that I never heard of Ebay Bucks!!!!!!!!!!! I USE EBAY ALLLLLLLL THE TIME! I just finished getting supplies for all costumes I made for my kids school play and used Ebay A Ton. All the money I spend I got reimbursed but labor was free. I COULD HAVE EARNED $$$ BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH! Ok Sorry back to my posting... So I don't have much time before my next trip to Disney (July 6-10) I'm going to beach for week and half this summer and just doing a mini trip for last 4 days to do a full two week vaction! (I usually only take a week so I'm super excited to 2 weeker!) SO but I want to do my first Disney Cruise next year or year after. So as soon as I get back I want to start saving for that. I think I'm just going to do the buy discount Target cards and straight getting Disney cards and putting them on my DVC for the bonus. (I've had the account open since last October but haven't really used it much). But for the cruise I'd like to to try this churning. I'm actually really nervous about it! So do you have a tips that might make me feel no so scared. Also tips on how to stay organized for it. Like some kind a spread sheet or how long you usually keep it going before you buy Disney GCs. I have to have my up coming trip paid off June 2nd just don't think its time to try new stuff. But saving 100's and 1000's sounds freaking awesome and could help me pay for longer cruise or even better time like Christmas that so expensive! Also what size cards you usually have going at one time things like that I'd love to hear. Maybe try copy by example!

Was it a $5 coupon for carpool or 5% and how did you get it? other have warn here about buying unclean cards because it can potentially get you ban from target. com. Let me know how it goes, because I plan on doing the same for our trip next month.
