Disney Gift Card Deals

The Target Groupon sale is invitation only. If you did not get the email you can't activate the sale.
A bunch of the websites that post deals said on Thursday it had gone live for everyone (no longer invite only) so many of us were trying-but no luck :(

ETA sorry that's what I thought-competitor website so blocked

Thanks. I think I might have found the thread, if its another popular Disney forum. It says the three who were banned earlier this year used Gift Card Zen to buy some of their cards. Also, are these banning coming after buying the Disney cards or Ebay gift cards? What I am seeing right now says its after purchasing large amounts of Disney. If so, I'll probably take mine in-store and forgo the last 5% when its time to cash out. But $3k is a LOT in one day! Wow!

I think if I recall correctly some people that were banned posted here about using Gift card zen. I could be wrong.

These bans are coming from Target. That's why a lot of people say they're stopping using Raise and Gift card mall, etc in lieu of "clean" cards right from target.

The thread that I found stated that they did NOT use a reseller - only bought CLEAN cards from Safeway but the problem was from buying $3,000 worth of Disney cards in one day.

Also, using Giftcardmall is just like buying from a grocery store, Best buy etc. They're clean cards.

Yes poster said $3000 in a single day using gift cards purchased from local grocery store.
Website might be blocked but I will try

I had a gut feeling as to which website this might be and I was right. Lucky guess for me.

The things that jump out at me from his posts:
  • The OP stated that the Target GCs were from a local grocery store and were therefore "clean".
  • They purchased $3K in Disney GCs online in a single day.
  • Their REDCard was relatively new (about 1 month old).
  • No real history of buying from Target .com in the past.
I know that it gets said a lot on here, but it really is flirting with trouble when you try to go about this too fast and for too much. Given that Target .com limits you to a total of $500 in Disney GCs (4-$50 GCs and 3-$100) in a single order, the OP of that post had to have made 6 identical orders in a single day. Use some caution, people! Fly below the radar!

Right, I just didn't realize all of the people had bought from the same reseller. However, after reading the post from the guy who was most recently banned, he bought all of his cards from Safeway grocery store, so IDK about clean cards being safe either.

Cannot be said enough! I'm just trying to figure out where "below the radar" is lol. Is it $100 a week? Is it $300 a day? Is it $5k each quarter? I wish we knew...

Unfortunately, Target isn't going to share that info because the true "resellers" would just exploit the system up to the very limit. By having a "double secret probation", they can discourage resellers but they also end up banning legitimate customers in the process. What's really ironic is that the professional resellers will also know how to circumvent the bans, so who is Target really hurting?

I agree-that's why I reposted here-new posters join us here all the time (plus many lurkers I'm sure) and may not realize how important it is not to do things that draw unwanted attention to their orders/account such as LARGE purchases in a single day. I think honestly that is what was that person's undoing.

Well I definitely think on Disney gift cards it is probably a good idea to only buy up the the $500 allowed in a single order per day. For what ever reason target set that limit and having duplicate orders for an item with a set buying limit very likely could be something flagging the account for manual review/evaluation. As to eBay or other cards with no set limit who knows?

So sorry! I meant to say gift card zen, not gift card mall.. I've been buying from gift card mall on eBay so that must have been what I had in my head. :)

We'll find it in our hearts to forgive you, @Vernie822.

Although I have to say - when I saw your post, I didn't recognize you because you changed from your Lilo picture! I was thinking "who is this new person spreading misinformation!"

Ugh cancelled again. Now I wonder what would happen if I placed it again and added more "filler" items. I've had Disney cards go through no problem so this is weird.

Are you ordering $200 eBay cards? I had a similar issue earlier this week when ordering that denomination plus an add-on item. Adding other items and mixing in other denominations didn't seem to do anything. Target canceled four orders before I gave it a break. Maybe just wait a while. When I later ordered a $100 card alone -- no add-on item so no Ebates, but payment by gift card with the Red Card discount -- it went through. I've since ordered $100s and $200s without problems.

Three questions...

  1. It is Disney that is getting cancelled for you, correct? I'm still trying to figure out if the problems are steaming from just Disney GCs or GCs in general.
  2. Are you using your Red Card discount, but paying with a GC or are you actually paying with your Red Card?
  3. Have you tried an order with just low-value GC ($100 or less) and nothing else?
Thanks!

I tried to do a $200 and a $100 eBay gcard and hand soap paid by a target gc and with the 5 percent red card discount, no go twice now. So maybe I will try a $100 eBay gc and see what happens. I know I can add more filler items easily to get the ebates. Will report back!

MyPoints credits for buying Ebay cards on Target without a small item, if you can't find anything to buy.
This looks like it is no longer happening. I placed 2 orders in the last 4 days and have not received credit for it at Mypoints. They credit after 24 hours, normally.

Just an FYI another target.com banning was posted on a different message board. Seems like the poster's trigger was multiple purchases of Disney gift cards all in one day so I'd advise spreading out purchases.
So true. I only buy the $500 max and don't buy them again until at least I received the last order.

I was really happy when 2 of my 3/14 ebay 4x promo orders arrived in the mail today. I made 2 separate large ebay gc purchases from Target and both went through smoothly. It took about 4 hours to get egift email and ebates cashback. Fillers were clearance baby clothes, orajel, razors. I'm hoping that we get some promos next week. Ebay's been having alot of promos. I hope they keep it up.
