speaking of pics, this has reminded me that i never posted my pics from my september weekend trip. i think i may have posted the tonga toast ones in the original food porn thread, but who ever gets tired of seeing tonga toast???

crystal palace dinner

my first plate: (clockwise starting at bottom) salad with blue cheese and peppers, some sort of cous cous salad (i liked it except for the chick peas), dinner roll with basil butter (the butter was SO good!), pasta salad

Picture078-2.jpg

my second plate: (clockwise starting at bottom) salmon (VERY good), mahi mahi (yuck - very dry), roast beef, some kind of corn souffle, mashed potatoes, broccoli (loved the seasoning on this), mixed veggies, some sort of pasta with mushrooms in the middle

'50's primetime cafe

fried herb cheese (very good....loved it spread over the bread!)

grilled chicken sandwich w/ fries (average)

we went to ohana's too but it was so chaotic in there that i forgot to take pictures. not a fan. i know most people love ohana's but it's just not for me. the meat was dry. although the chips/dip and salad were very good....as was the lapu lapu.......:cloud9: i look very relaxed in this picture!

agreed. (see above! ;) )

Your photos look really good.......the lighting is very even in all of them. Just wondering what kind of camera (digital, film, SLR, brand, model) you use. Was the exposure automatic or did you have to tweak the settings for the end results?? My DW uses a digital, but sometimes lighting is a problem for the camera and the flash sometimes washes things out. I hate to carry my Nikon with me because it is too heavy to lug around all day so she carries the Sony Cybershot.

:thumbsup2

how funny....i use a cybershot too! it's a sony cybershot DSCW50. i don't remember what settings i had it on - i think just the automatic one with the auto adjustment/flash.

I am suddenly very sad that we are not going to be able to snag Tonga Toast this trip. :( Looks delish!!! Food Pornolicious :D Now I need a cuddle.

Tonga Toast looks AMAZING! I had something kind of similar at the Rainforest Cafe' however sadly I have developed a banana allergy and won't get to try Tonga Toast, I wonder if they can serve it with another type of fruit inside.

 And why not? You know they now serve this at the Poly Counter Service location right?

apostolic4life and punkin413,

Believe it or not, food porn causes us to :scared1: at times. Glad you two are still in love with the food!!

Hey Punkin Gyrl, I love the pics of the tonga toast!! I think I will try it in Sept when we stay at the Poly! Is it too sweet? Ummm...I guess you would say that isn't coming from the girl you gained 6lbs at Disney in 4 days.:rotfl2:

Keep it coming!!

The best Calamari I've ever had - Crispy Sesame and Togarashi-scented Calamari - spiced green papaya and fragrant vegetables, Asian dipping sauce

Potato-Wrapped Red Snapper - Creamy Leek Fondue and Red Wine and Cassis Butter Sauce

I also loved the fried calamari dish at Flying Fish. Though I called it the second best I've ever had. But then, I've had lots of plates at lots of fantastic restaurants, so I count #2 as a raving success.
And my snapper was also fantastic.
I just finished talking about Flying Fish in the most recent installment of my trip report, and these pictures made my mouth water once more!

i'm sure they prep those ahead of time with bananas in them. but maybe if you call ahead and explain your allergies they could accommodate you? it's worth a try!

hey, madi!! depends on the person, i think, as far as the sweetness. the poster above me says it was too sweet for them. i was afraid of that, but i thought that the sourdough bread kinda evened out the sweetness. plus the saltiness of the bacon helped, too. it was soooooooo good!

Vegetarian Chili and a side of fries at the Columbia Harbour House. The chili was so yummy!

And the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe.

:goodvibes

We are staying at SSR, and have everything so planned that I didn't leave room to go over to the Poly. However my DP and I are going again sans kids in Sept and plan on staying at the Poly so I am SO indulging in Tonga Toast then. Maybe several times. :thumbsup2
