Happy birthday to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror! Tower of Terror opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 22, 1994, and has been thrilling guests ever since. In addition to its thrilling and unpredictable drops, Tower of Terror is also well known for its incredible attention to detail and theming in the queue area. A version of this attraction exists at every currently operating Disney resort, but the Hollywood Studios version is the original.

Happy 21st birthday, Tower of Terror! Thanks for “dropping” into the parks!

Interesting how the scary rides like ToT and HM are in all the parks! :cool2:

Tower of Terror! On of my favorite rides and probably my favorite queue.

Catching up with my minutes, which involved a 5.17 mile run this morning. I'm proud that I got the run in before 6:00 a.m..

1219/1600 -which I think puts me just over 75%.

Kudos to you for getting out there early and getting 'er done! :yay:

20 minutes walking brings me to 1201/1000

I love how everyone is making it happen every day! :flower1:

I can add 90 hard-earned minutes to my time from my last post. My knee has gotten worse and I have an MRI scheduled for next Monday. Hoping and praying that I don't need surgery. The Jingle Jungle 5K is coming up quickly!

226/600

Sorry the knee is still bothering you! :flower3: Hope they can figure out what is going on and start helping you to feel better very soon. pixiedust: And walking the 5k is always a possibility if the knee will let you. Hang in there!

We had never ridden ToT until the last trip we took to WDW, and that once was way more than enough! Theming was awesome, but no, no thank you to the actual ride.

I've never ridden it and I don't think I ever will. One of my biggest fears is elevators dropping (I hate when I'm in an elevator and it drops a little before going back up), so ToT is definitely not for me!

(I'm proud when I can wake up at 6...)

Yes it does - you're one of our many color changers today!

Definitely - I guess it shows that people like the scary rides!

Sorry to hear that. I hope everything works out okay and the MRI shows that it's nothing too bad!

As for me ...
100 minutes walking and running so far today ... apparently I can get things done when I get up at 6 AM. Who knew?

959/1200

Color changes and today's birthday will be posted soon ... I'm getting a bit of a late start today because of my long run, but I'll have lots of good news once I get to the color changes!

Congratulations to our newest member of Disney's Animal Kingdom Orange, bearybubba!

We also have quite a few new members of Epcot Pink - congratulations to:

I love seeing all the awesome color changes - I'm really impressed at how we're all going out and getting those minutes in! In fact, as a team, we're only 2,046 minutes short of Epcot Pink! How soon can we make it there? I'm hoping that we can get those minutes in and I'll have good news to report in a few days!

For today's birthday, we head back to the world of movies for the 1999 opening of Inspector Gadget.

Inspired by the 1983 animated cartoon series of the same name, Inspector Gadget starred Matthew Broderick as Inspector Gadget, Michelle Trachtenberg as Penny, and Dabney Coleman as Chief Quimby. This live-action action-comedy was a moderate box office success, and a direct-to-video sequel was released in 2003.

Happy birthday, Inspector Gadget! Go Go Gadget Birthday!

Checking back in after a few days off with 45 more minutes. I ran for 35 and the rest was walking. I was proud of myself for running a straight 3.25 miles without any walk breaks even though I took it easy on my speed. My longest I've gone without stopping to walk.
This weekend I'm going to run 4 miles...I'll allow some walk breaks on that though :)

655/900 (I'm not sure I'm gonna hit my target this month, but I'm proud of the workouts I've actually attempted. Gonna do better in August!)

I've never ridden it and I don't think I ever will. One of my biggest fears is elevators dropping (I hate when I'm in an elevator and it drops a little before going back up), so ToT is definitely not for me!

So you may all laugh at this, but my biggest fear is whales (and really any large sea creature.) Just the thought of being next to one in the water :/ ...heck even large bottoms of boats freak me out. So I was literally being the biggest baby in the whole world going through that tiny little fake Monstro whale mouth on the Storybook canal boats at Disneyland. I will NEVER make fun of anyone for being scared of TOT or HM...because I got freaked out on a kiddie ride.
...but I do LOVE TOT :)
