It's official - last night, shortly before 11 PM Eastern Time,
Team Disney Daily Birthdays July Exercise Challenge hit 75% of our goal, making us ...
EPCOT PINK!!
Way to go, team - this is awesome! Kudos to everyone who took the time to get some exercise, posted those minutes, and helped us reach that goal! Next stop is
Magic Kingdom Red (
3567 minutes until we hit that goal!)
Of course, we can't forget our individual color changers, who have put in some great work!
Congrats to our newest member of
Disney's Hollywood Studios Purple,
Flossbolna!
Congratulations to our newest member of
Epcot Pink,
roxymama!
roxymama was also the member whose minutes put the team at
Epcot Pink - so that's a

double pink

for her!
Congrats to our newest members of
Magic Kingdom Red ...
chbc &
galaxygirl76!
And congrats to our newest member of
Disneyland W.I.S.H. Green ...
Rattpack!
If you're visiting Disneyland, I highly recommend the Alice in Wonderland ride - it's a fun exploration through Alice's story. Plus, you might get seated in something green ...
Ride vehicles, which are shaped like the Caterpillar, exist in six different colors - and one of those colors is green! (There is also a blue & green colored ride vehicle).
Now, let's get back to birthdays - I know I owe you three!
After all of the exercise minutes we’ve all been getting, it’s time for some rest and relaxation! So let’s head over to Senses Spa, which had the grand opening of its Saratoga Springs Resort location on July 25th, 2013.
Spa treatments available include a variety of massages, facials, manicures and pedicures, hydroptherapy treatments, body treatments and wraps, and so much more. This relaxing experience is a great way to unwind during your Disney vacation. Another Senses Spa location can be found at the Grand Floridian.
Happy 2nd birthday, Senses Spa at Saratoga Springs Resort! Thanks for giving us a chance to sit back and relax!
Now that we've relaxed a bit, let's hop across the Atlantic Ocean for our next birthday, as we visit the 1951 UK Premiere of Alice in Wonderland.
Disney’s first adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s
Alice books premiered in London on July 26, 1951 before making its US debut two days later. The film opened to moderate box office success, but has gained a cult following and is now regarded as one of Disney’s greatest animated features.
Happy Birthday,
Alice in Wonderland. And a very merry unbirthday to all of the other Disney animated classics out there!
That brings us to today, where we wish a happy birthday to the career of a Disney Legend, William "Sully" Sullivan.
At age 19, William "Sully" Sullivan was inspired to apply for a job at Disneyland after seeing the opening ceremonies on TV. A few days later, he was hired as a ticket-taker for the Jungle Cruise attraction, and his first day of work at this attraction was July 27, 1955. He progressed to ride operator and then operations supervisor at Disneyland before going to work for Disney at the 1960 Winter Olympics (where Disney was in charge of Pageantry) and then the 1964-5 World Fair. After working as director of Epcot Center operations, in 1987 he was named as vice president of Magic Kingdom and was responsible for the operation of the park. He retired in 1993 after 38 years with the Walt Disney Company, and was inducted as a Disney Legend in 2005.
Happy Birthday, Sully's Career! And a huge thank you to Sully for your years of amazing work for Disney!
(Note: I'm actually getting some conflicting info on this birthday, his first day may have been the 26th, but ... we'll just pretend it was the 27th, okay?)
