Thats a good reason to rebook onboard for 2 years from now!!

You pick a dummy date as far out as you can, then in a few months when they post the 2015 schedule you can change the date. You still maintain the discount and on board credit.:thumbsup2

Hi Kathy!
Total newbie here! I've heard there is good discounts to book another trip while one board, how good are they usually? Do they require full payment etc? Thanks!

Sometimes they offer specials to book a cruise while on board. Usually its $500.00 per room to hold the cruise.

I dont know if it's still going or if it will still be on special when we are on board but it was half the normal deposit for a few weeks. So it may be as little as $250.00 per room to hold your room. We are rebooking while on board so I sure hope the special is still going!!!:thumbsup2

Normally you get 10% off the normal price and some room credit depending on the length of the cruise. Up to $350.00 room credit. It varies form 3 to 14 day cruises.

The Castaway Cay 5k is run each time a Disney ship docks at Castaway Cay. It's an informal race; you meet in one of the bars about 9:00 AM (check the navigator for exact time and place) and everyone participating goes down to the island together. You get a number bib and there is a time clock. Everyone gets a medal for completing (regardless of your time). There is no cost for the event.

I've never done it, but I have been reading a bit about it over the past couple of weeks and I just need to have someone kick me in the butt to get started on training. With 3 weeks and 5 days till race day, I think I can still get trained for it.

How far in miles is a 5K? :hourglass
I may be interested in walking it, as I am starting a "walking challenge" from work on 1/8/13 for 5 weeks. That would be more motivation for me to walk extra! :woohoo: :cheer2:
I already do about 8 miles of walking a week :ccat: but I am NOT a runner
I walked a 1/2 marathon in 2003 in Hawaii :rainbow: for the American Stroke Association :grouphug::yay:

Can you tell me your name, so I can look for you onboard & push you into doing the 5K :thumbsup2

Kathy - your magnets are great and the food looks wonderful. Thanks for posting.

Good morning all,

Glad you liked the door signs. I have many more put I dont have the photos of them on my computer to share them.
I do have many pictures for door signs, so if anybody needs some to choose from send me an e-mail and I will e-mail them back to you.
My e-mail address is at the bottom of my post.

Went out early to find some shorts. Thank goodness I did find 3 pair as it is to be 80 today. I also got a new seat for my bike so it will be more comfortable to ride. I need to ride early today before it gets too warm.

Have an awesome day everyone,

Back in a bit,

Kathy

I'm loving reading about the fun activities (Pirate's Night and Castaway Cay 5k) and seeing the lovely pictures, and dreaming about planning our next Disney Cruise but how in the world am I supposed to concentrate on work? ;)

I hope they are still selling these glasses on Pirate night. They light up and blink different colors. This one is now in my China Closet. I would like another one to go with it.

Lunch at Cabanas. I think it was salmon and Corned beef for the meats that day.

Anybody here like looking for Hidden Mickeys on the ship??
Here's a few I found. I wont say where they all were in case you look for them. A few are obvious where they were.

I hope these will inspire you to look for other hidden Mickeys. They are everywhere on the ship. If you show your kids these photos so they understand what a hidden mickey is I bet they will find more than you will around the ship. Kids are great at finding them.
These are NOT from the Dream, so they probably wont help you much accept to give you the idea of what to look for.

Who's dressing up for Pirate night? And if you are, is it full costume or just t-shirts?

DH won't tell me what he's doing, just says "I've got it sorted", so not sure what that means :confused3 The kids will be in full costume. I sent for a costume which arrived today, but I think it is too small and may be too hot, so I may have to rethink it.

I have worn the same pirate outfit for years. But the wind on board malkes it hard to keep the skirt down :(

This photo is a few years old but here is what I usually wear.

067daycruise028.jpg

Only thingis I want to wear pants this time. skirt is just too hard.

Greg usually wears a pirate t-shirt and the bandana they give you. He said this time he will buy a triangle pirate hat at WDW to wear on the ship with his t-shirt.

Hi all!

I was in need of some serious motivation to run the Castaway Cay 5k so this afternoon I came up with something personal to run for. My 11 year-old son has Fetal Alcohol Syndrom (FAS). I decided to run for him and to raise awareness for FAS. I also set up a page for donations to the National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (NOFAS). At the page you can learn a little more about our boy and FAS.
