Disappointing rides which we could happily leave out......?

Ellen's Energy Adventure is a great place for adults with good bladder control to take a nap on a hot day. Otherwise, skip it.

Of the attractions I've done (and I've not done anywhere near all of them), I'm not likely to ever again do Fantasmic or the family raft ride at TL.

If you have an amusement park near your house then there are several rides you can skip over as they are just about in every park in one way or another. Dumbo, magic carpets, triceratops spin, and orbiter are basically the same ride in different cars. Teacups are in most parks, the speedway is again in most parks in one way or another,as is the carousel. These are rides that minus that Disney touch, are in most parks. Rather then try to figure out what not to ride, I suggest sitting down as a family and listing your must dos for every park, make sure you hit all of those, then as time permits add on other rides and attractions to fill your day. At MK my family usually skips over AO, Speedway, SFRT,SGE, CBJ, and TSI. If time permits we will do one or 2 of those though. At EOCOT we skip all the movies in WS, EUOE, MS, and CEO. At DHS we skip AIE, BST, and LMASS. At AK we skip nothing as if planned carefully you can do it all once in a day

IMO you should try everything once! My own personal list of rides to avoid include: Astro Orbiter-I feel like I'm going to fall out and all the simulator rides-these, for some reason, give me a migraine :confused3. My favorites are ToT and RnR! :cool1:

I can only tell you the ones that I don't like... and its a rather short list:

MK
Stitch

Epcot
Captain EO

HS
The special stunts show

AK
Dinosaur

I would say try everything once because we all like different things, but Stitch get my vote too. I am not a fan of country bear jamboree and once was enough for us. Captain jack sparrow at Hollywood studios was a waste of time IMO.

As a family it would have to be Stitch's Great Escape, the only time we do this attraction is if we are stuck in a rain storm. The two attraction that I can't do personally are the Tea Cups and ToT. I used to love the Tea Cups as a kid but since I have gotten older, I can't stomach it anymore. However, I am more then happy to stand off to the side and video tape DH and the girls on it :goodvibes. As for ToT, once was enough for that one...I really don't like the free fall type rides, and again I will gladly sit on a bench holding everyone's belongings as they are enjoying that ride.

We actually really liked Stich! Me, DH, DS 9, & DS 6. The only part that was uncomfortable was the shoulder restraints bouncing up and down. My "never again unless I have to" would be the Captain Jack adventure at HS. The line was so long and it was super boring. But let's be honest, any ride at Disney is better than not being there at all! 189 Days!:cool1:

My 6 year old daughter LOVED Stitch on our trip when she was 5. We're hoping she no longer loves it on our trip later this year. Both of my kids loved Captain EO last year in DLP. I remember it coming out at DL and I never totally got into it, but they loved it.

I think ride choice is very subjective. You can read about the ride and maybe make a choice there, but I wouldn't expect anyone else to be able to really make the choice for you.

Test Track and hate to say it because I love Ellen, but Ellen's Energy thing. If I want test track, I just take a drive with my elderly father

That's a very subjective question. What some people love, others strongly dislike. If you tell us a little more about what kinds of things your family does not like to do, folks here on the Dis might be able to better answer your question.

I completely agree. Everyone's likes/dislikes and ride tolerances can be very different. What one person might love another one can hate. Some popular rides can make people ill or aggrevate a phobia depending on your tolerance. It really depends from case to case.

I am always of the opinion of "You won't know for sure until you try it for yourself". However there is a lot to do and see that you cannot do that with every attraction in a single vacation. So keeping that in mind....to narrow it down a bit....my best advice for deciding what your family would be interested in is to do a little research.

There are various Disney planning sites that will give you a description of each ride. Some will even give you pictures of the ride and possibly ride vehicle pictures. Also youtube can come in handy for this as well....so many people have uploaded ride videos. Once you have an idea of what each attraction is you can more easily narrow down what your family would be the most interested in :)

Captain jack sparrow at Hollywood studies. You stand in a room (all squeezed together) and hear a story. I kept waiting for the doors to open and actually get on some kind of ride, or boat, or SOMETHING. But the "story" kept on going. Very disappointing. I would be surprised if anyone said they enjoyed this "ride"

YES! Biggest waste of our Disney time ever!
