Disappointing rides which we could happily leave out......?

The day they close Stitch I will buy a plane ticket just so I can stand outside and clap as it tortures its last guests.

Haha!!

I echo others' sentiments, everyone has their own opinion on what to skip. I don't mind Stitch but I agree it can be skipped. Carousel of Progress is a nostalgia type ride for people who either used to ride it years ago or lived in a previous generation featured on the ride. It's one of my Dad's favorites. :) I honesty don't think I've ever done the Swiss Family treehouse in my 15+ trips to Disney and I don't think I'm missing out. The carousel is like any other and can be skipped - unless you are on the hunt for Cinderella's favorite horse. ;) the Tiki room is "meh" too. At Epcot I'm not a fan of Ellen's Energy Adventure or Captain EO. I love Figment though! (Mostly for sentimental reasons and the original ride was much better than the one currently running.)

We hate Stitch, along with most everyone else who has posted on this thread. We also don't like Country Bear Jamboree. Based on what I had read about it prior to our trip, I had decided to avoid it. A downpour came all of a sudden, so we decided to duck into CBJ to avoid the rain. Needless to say, I would have rather been in the rain.

We don't hate it, but we're not fans of Test Track either. We don't see what the hype is about this ride.

Here are my least favorites in each park ...
Magic Kingdom: Stitch's Great Escape
Disney's Hollywood Studios: The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow
Epcot: The Circle of Life
Animal Kingdom: Rafiki's Planet Watch

I've been to WDW 6 times in the last four years... I've never even HEARD of the Stitch ride!

Stitch is, by far, the worst. Tom Sawyer's Island, Carousel of Progress, Swiss Family Treehouse, and Astro Orbiter are also on my "never again" list.

Captain jack sparrow at Hollywood studies. You stand in a room (all squeezed together) and hear a story. I kept waiting for the doors to open and actually get on some kind of ride, or boat, or SOMETHING. But the "story" kept on going. Very disappointing. I would be surprised if anyone said they enjoyed this "ride"

I'll have to agree with the masses and say Stitch although if I was reading this and going for my first time I would have to go on Stitch to see how bad it really is. I also could do without dinosaur, super loud and jerky. I also didn't enjoy Tom Sawyers Island. Honestly though try to do them all so you can form your own opinion.

OMG YES!! What a waste of time waiting in line for that ride. Never again.

MK: Barnstormer
AK: Triceratops Spin
Epcot: Ellen's thing

hi,
you could print off the park maps for each of the parks and then let everyone going choose what rides they think they would like to experience
( the maps will give you the height restrictions.)
then if you not sure on a ride you can then ask about individual rides or watch them on you tube to make sure they are suitable for your needs.
(don't forget about parent swap if there are some rides you and DH want to go on but not suitable for the children)

this way if you know your must do rides/shows you will have some sort of plan of action which will really help you get the most out of your time whilst there.

personal I like to experience rides/ shows for myself because you cant always go by what others have experienced, but if there are health issues, time restrictions etc. I can understand why you need to narrow it down .

cal:)

I agree Stitch is awful, we waited in line for about half an hour and were very disappointed!! I didn't enjoy dinosaur at AK or the great movie ride at HS!

The only two rides I will not let my family waist time on are STITCH and CAPTAIN EO. All the rest mentioned have good and bad points. For example, carousel of progress, it is a 20 minute show in a nice dark air conditioned theater. So when the rest of my family goes to wait on space mountain for 50 minutes, my 4 year old and I go take a little rest on that ride. I feel the same about Inniventions at Epcot. Great place to let the toddlers run around while the bigger kids are on bigger rides.

Stitch's Great Mistake...er...Escape.

Primeval Whirl

Playhouse Disney

Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Triceratops Spin
Dumbo

Grand Prix Speedway

Another vote for Stitch. Also, the entire Chester and Hester carnival area in AK. Still shocked that this is still part of that park.

THIS! :lmao:

All the times I have been to Disney, never did Stitch! And just like you said, after reading all the bad reviews, I'm curious! Now I GOTTA check it out in Sept! :thumbsup2

I skip these each visit...but only because I got nauseous when I did ride them  I would try them at least once if you never did though...

MK - Astro Orbiter / Space Mountain
EP - Mission Space
HS - Star Tours
AK - Expedition Everest...I just can't :crazy2:

How did I know that I would see so many Stitch votes..smh..:sad2: terrible.

I cant stand Figment. But we ride it anyway. To laugh at it.:rotfl2:

Stitch's great escape is pretty much universally accepted as a complete waste of time.

Primevil Whirl was also a fairly unpleasant experience.

Well, that's not quite fair: Sometimes it's hot out and very busy and you need a cool place to go in which case Stitch sort of works for that.

I like Primevil Whirl OK.

I'd skip:
- Stitch
- Journey into Imagination

Borderline:
- Finding Nemo / Living Seas.
- Films around World Showcase
Carousel of Progress (yeah, I get nostalgic by it, too, but you could skip it and not notice).
- Buzz Lightyear - mainly because it's in desperate need of a refurb and things don't work and it is kind of starting to look crappy, overall.
- Country Bears - they've actually made this better (sounds a lot better the last time I was in it)

Seeing as this is the kids' first visit and we don't have time to do everything -(and another trip anytime soon is unlikely as we're coming from the uk) - that's hugely helpful. Thx all. Any further advice for omissions (or absolute must dos) - v welcome.....

I completely agree! Me, my wife, 4 y/o son, and 7 y/o daughter naively waited in the summer heat last year for this "attraction". I have never been so dissatisfied with something at Disney. It was interesting to me to see the same expression of confusion and disbelief on all the people's faces standing around us after this was over. I had the strongest inclination to write a letter expressing my family's disappointment but thought better of it. Please don't waste your time if you haven't seen this.
