Disappointing rides which we could happily leave out......?

Creeping around on this board for ideas of what to avoid. Definitely writing down the Stitch ride, although I absolutely love the movie and character living with an 11 year old boy I'm good on all burping lol.

We are going to Disney with MaW May 29-June 4, first disney trip ever and want to make it as memorable as possible for my son who is 11 and the wish kid. We'll be going with my 7 yr old daughter, 1 year old daughter and of course myself and my husband.

My son is a heart patient, which I'm sure will limit his ability to ride some rides. He's about 5 ft tall though, so I'm hoping he'll be able to experience SOME rides. My daughter is pretty petite, I'm hoping she'll have plenty of opportunity to ride rides too.

I anxiously await posts from anyone else about their opinions on rides to completely avoid. Thanks guys(sorry this is so long winded ;-) )

Very subjective. If you haven't been before you would possibly prioritize based on your family but I would try everything once if possible to see if you/your family like it.

For first timers I highly agree with this and try everything you possibly can so that you can form your own opinions. Every person is different as is every family. What some like, others won't.

And to jump in on the Stitch discussion ... I don't hate the attraction, but I don't love it either. We tend to skip it every 2-3 trips before we decide its been a while and should give it another go.

If he's a huge stitch fan I'm not sure if its still going on but there used to be a monster dance party where stitch was at and you could dance with him. I can't remember which park its at though.

As many before me have said this is highly subjective. There are some rides others have listed that we have on our must ride list (Ellen's Energy adventure, Soarin, Little Mermaid)

I think the feelings about Stitch's Great escape are pretty well reinforced here. I don't know if it was my fondness for it's predecessor Alien Encounter that turned me against it but I skip it almost every time.

We also have a tendency to skip the water ride in Asia in Animal Kingdom. We tend to leave wet rides for right before returning to the hotel but it's placement is literally as far from the entry/ exit to the park as possible. So we never double back for it.

For me it would definitely be Stitch. It's really the only ride in any of the parks I actively avoid.

Like others have said, very different tastes here, but I will second Stitch and throw in one that hasn't been mentioned yet. COUNTRY BEAR JAMBOREE. Not exactly a ride but felt I needed to give you a heads up. LOL. I felt a little violated after leaving that one. I know some people like it, but I'll never understand why.

You will not be missing anything if you skipped Hall of Presidents and Country Bear Jamboree! These are a true waste if time!

Without a doubt Ellen's energy adventure. I've never been on stitch or captain EO though. I also avoid anything that is like a regular carnival ride.

Im a fan of Stitch so I love the Stitch ride. Here is what I would skip some of them might not be rides but a good time to nap

MK-Stitch and CBJ and Swiss family Treehouse. I felt completely trapped on the treehouse and felt like it was designed just to tie people up for 25 minutes. I actually enjoy a lot of the silly rides like Dumbo and IASW because it reminds me of when I was a kid at Disneyland.

Epcot-Figment. I just hated that ride, even though I love the narrator Eric Idle.
I thought most of the rides at Epcot were awful including turtle talk, and Nemo was just barely acceptable. Soarin and Maelstrom were the only things we liked.

Someone already mentioned Circle of Life at Epcot so I will second the opinion. I left feeling rather sad for a few hours despite being in Disney, but that may just be me. Hall of Presidents at Magic Kingdom is worth seeing once to learn some history but it's not a must-do, in my opinion. I've never been on Ellen's Energy Adventure but with a 40-ish minute "ride time" I'd rather not take out that great a chunk of my day on something I can learn about through the internet.

I say try them all and decide for yourself. Eveyone family is different. Some of the attractions I've seen listed here are some of my favorites. Just becuse someone else thinks it's a waste of time doesn't mean you won't enjoy it.

Each family and person are different, so you have to try a lot of them out to see which ones you don't like, which ones are meh, and which ones you could do over and over. If you just listen to these threads people have so many different opinions that you end up skipping every ride, when in fact you might actually like it...

lol. I remember somewhere writing that the treehouse was an exercise in futility. Nothing like a twisting flight of stairs after hours of walking through a hot park. I also love Dumbo (my favorite ride). I also like IASW and PeopleMover too. I find them equally as fun as EE, just in a different way.

I'm sure you'll get lots of idea on here but if you don't have a copy yet, the Unofficial Guide to WDW is a good source...it gives a nice summary of all of the rides and attractions and who they are good for, scare factor, all that. I hope you have a great trip.

I think we have tried everything once. We agree on some rides that we can skip--the riverboat, Hall of Presidents, Stitch. I start every MK day with Dumbo and I'm sure DH would skip it. I also don't like movies where I have to stand (Canada, China). And currently with only a 16 year old at home we can skip the princesses, most characters and any Disney Junior stuff.
