GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Thanks for all the hugs. :) The funeral was actually a nice service and MIL had been sick for the better part of four years with the last being in and out of the hospital and nursing home. FIL had her feeding tube removed a couple of weeks ago so it was actually a blessing when she passed. She's home now.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

 to you and your family.

Have fun everyne going to WDW this week..I'm jealous!

Hi everyone

Just a fly-by - Im stealth posting from work!

LexMelinda - to you and your family

Shannon - Loved the Britney story, I remember being fascinated by the stories about her (I know, shame on me:guilty: ) and remember photos of that concert being in all of our Newspapers over here!

Well Ive started Slimming World - Loving it so far! I'll post more on it tonight for those that are interested!:rotfl:

Hope everyones having a great day! :upsidedow

CRAP! I've been a slacker and my weight is stuck. Coincidence? I think NOT!

I thought I commented on Britney!
Shannon, that was soooo funny.

I used to like her, but she's just so icky now.

PRAY for Miley Cyrus, people! She hasn't full-on slutted up (yet).

my paranoia took the best of me and i went to the doctor. she told me i burnt the lining in my esphogus from mixing drinks saturday night. so she can me a prescription for nexium and antibotics in case its the stomach flu starting.....i need to land in WDW already this waiting around for wednesday morning is getting to be to much lol

Oh my, I didn't realize you can burn your lining of your esophagus from mixing drinks. Hope you have a good time in WDW. I know your at the airport now but I didn't get a change to get online yesterday.

I got my tax refund today, that brightened my day right up. At least something was bright today, the weather was miserable, and at one point last night, we lost power, (at a bad time too, it was when I was watching Desperate Housewives.)

So anyway, since I got my refund, I can now pay off my trip to Disney, well, almost, my refund is about $50 less then I need to pay it off, but that's pocket change compared to how much I'll be able to pay off. :goodvibes

Then when I get the rebate / stimilus check, or whatever it's called, I'll put that money towards paying off my student loans, instead of just spending it on whatever.

It's always nice to get money back. We never get a refund but our check that we are getting is going towards our Disney trip next year.

I have a family funeral today. DH's step-mother died on Friday so there will be funeral, burial, and big family gathering this afternoon.

Sorry to hear about DH step mom

Hi all,

LMO - I think Ive missed you now, but have a great trip! :cool1:

As you all know, I started Slimming World on Monday - I love it! I think Ive finally found a diet that suits me! Its all about 'Food Optimising' - You can fill up on 'free foods' - fruit, vegetables, low fat yoghurts etc. You have Red days and Green days. On red days your free food also includes all lean meat, fish, poultry, quorn and eggs, so you can eat any of these as much as you like. You can use pasta and rice as 'healthy extras' meaning you weigh your portions according to the book. On green days your free food is potatoes, rice, pasta and pulses, and you would use meat as a 'healthy extra', again weighing the portion according to the book! On top of this you can eat as much fruit and veg as you like!

The main thing for me is I can eat until Im full, which was my problem on Weight Watchers - sometimes the portions were just too weeny for me! :rotfl: . Plus, you can use cheese as a healthy extra too - and I LOVE cheese!

So thats Slimming world in a nutshell, and Im hoping to see a nice number on Friday, Fingers crossed!

Hope everyone is enjoying their day :goodvibes

It looks like you might have found what you were looking for! Hopefully you'll see some happy numbers beacuse of this! But I have one question. What the heck is "quorn"? It looks like it would be what we spell "corn", but I'm not sure about that. I thought I heard just about every unfamiliar phrase from the people at our office in the UK, but this one is new to me!

Have a great day everyone!

I'm with Aaron, I glad you found your "heathly eating plan". Oh who doesn't like cheese. I'm a cheese fan like no other. I also would love to know what quorn is.

:wave2: Hi everyone. This is me. If you remember, I had the flu and an ear infection a month ago. Well, I've been coughing ever since, and Sunday, I started running a fever. I went to the dr. this morning, and I have an infection in my lungs. So it's antibiotics and sitting around being lazy until I feel better. I'm watching Meet the Robinsons right now. Very surreal with the fever and all.

Shannon-Loved the Britney story. I'm another one who'd like to be "fat" like her. What I wouldn't give to have thighs like that. And PD-:lmao: on the DHs grabbing for the binoculars.

Melinda- to you and your family. Even when death is a blessing, it's still hard to say goodbye.

:bounce: for those in WDW this week.

Shannon...Thanks for sharing your "experience" with Brittany. I just feel bad for her.:sad2: Hopefully she is getting it back together.

Melinda...My new job has nothing to do with insurance! :confused3 I am now working at HSBC Bank with DH. Well, not with him, but in the same building. We carpool together, so that's fun. I am training to do customer service work and answer phones.

Off to do laundry! :laundy:

Shannon~ Have a great time. I'm going to check out your pre-trip in just a few. :thumbsup2

Melinda~ Sorry I'm late. A  for you and your family.

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!

Again, thanks for all the hugs and kind words. DFIL is moving this weekend into an apartment in our neighborhood. Both my SILs also live within a couple of blocks so hopefully this will be a positive thing for him.

I would not be one bit surprised if I'm up this week after all the funeral food. We will see.

Gayle.....How exciting on the new job! And carpooling with DH?! Good deal. You mentioned you're selling the house. You're empty nesters now right? Getting something smaller? A townhouse?

UK....The new plan looks good. NOBODY should give me a license to eat as much as I want of anything! I would definitely abuse that one. But it does sound like a healthy eating plan so that can only be a good thing.

Danielle!
Not again! I'm telling you those kinders are little germ magnets. Hope you feel better soon. Have you seen August Rush? That's a good new movie to watch while you're resting.

Laura, Wendee, Aaron, Fran, and everyone else.....:wave2:

I need a new scale...mine is only a year old but I hate it. I got on it this AM and was down 1 lb. Got back on 30 seconds later (No clue why) and I was a samer. I always check in on Thursdays to know if I have to starve myself today!! :lmao: :lmao: Anyway, not sure how I go up a lb in 30 seconds. I am still going with the first weight and hope for the best tomorrow. Guess it's cereal for dinner tonight!!! ;)

Have a good day everyone :goodvibes

I want one that lies!!!

Happy Weigh Day Eve, Peeps!

WATER! (I reeeeeeally just want a diet Pepsi Max, though!)

Quorn is kind of a meat substitute - Its actually really tasty, you cant tell the difference between quorn and lean mince. The website will probably explain it better than my rambling! :lmao: www.quorn.com
Im sure I can dig up some more unfamiliar phrases for you Aaron, let me think about it for a while! :rotfl2:

I really shouldn't have free reign over food! It is healthy eating though, and Ive not been hungry once, so Ive had no crisps or chips or chocolate which I would normally have been reaching for! Hopefully we'll see on Friday!

Have a great day everyone :)

Flyin' by.....
Hope everyone is doing well.
Yesterday my friend and i had plans to play tennis but alas, the courts were full... SO we went for a nice HILLY walk at a local park instead. I was pretty excited that we had such a good alternative and that we did it instead of shopping of getting ice cream or something, like we would have done in the past...it feels so good to move! Today is Curves/sushi night...i am hoping for happy numbers tommorow for everyone! :thumbsup2

OH and Dawn ( Pumpkin) says HELLO to us all..i just jumped over to her TR and she wanted to pass it on that she misses her Peeps :)

Happy weigh day eve everyone. Hope we all had a good week! I am not holding out too much hope. 2 Mothers day celebrations and my anniversary all in one weekend=no pretty number for me this week. But we'll see...chugging water tonight may help! I am also probably retaining lots of water too. I am super sore this week. Been teaching alot and we had dress rehearsal all day Sat last weekend. Believe it or not, I am still sore from being on the go all day!

Melinda-I know I am late, but  anyways!

Shannon- that was too funny. I have to admit I would have probably gone too, out of curiosity. Like I may have to go see the New Kids on the Block when they tour again this fall. (in case anyone else is wondering...they will be perfoming on the Today show tomorrow morning :rolleyes1 )

DisneyGalUK

Just wondering.... Do you think they use travel nurses in the UK? I know we have a nursing shortage in the US and nurses who are willing to take temporary assignments and work around the country are paid well and get the benefit of travelling to new places as well.... I was imagining in my head, if I went to the UK as a travel nurse, I could see the country, make some money- especially considering the exchange rate. Doubt if it will ever happen- but you never know- I am a nurse with 20 years experience- thats gotta get me somewhere- right?

I tried again with my "Chinese soup", and this time it was soooo good. It's super easy too. Here it is:

3 oz. uncooked spaghetti
3 bouillon cubes
6 c. water
1 c. chopped mushrooms
2 c chopped lettuce (wilted is fine, so it's good for using up lettuce past it's prime)
3 TB green onions, sliced into little circles
1 TB teriyaki sauce
2 eggs, scrambled

Cook the spaghetti. My cookbook says cut it up after you cook it, but I just break it as I throw it into the water. Drain it and set it aside.

Bring the 6 c of water to a boil. Add the bouillon cubes and stir. Add the mushrooms, lettuce, and onions. Turn down the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Add the teriyaki sauce and scrambled eggs. Stir until the eggs are cooked (they'll look like yellow curd). And there you have it. It makes 6 servings, a little less than 100 calories per serving.

I ate 2 servings tonight, because I skipped lunch, and nothing else sounded good. Also, I was feeling sorry for myself because I missed a meeting tonight where they were having Chinese food. This was much healthier. I hope someone else tries it.

I just got the Biggest Loser workout on DVD.

It's sitting there in front on the DVD player. :sad2:

I've drank a gallon and a half of "just water" today!

Good Luck Peeps tomorrow, curvy mamas! (and you too Aaron!)

DisneyGalUKJust wondering.... Do you think they use travel nurses in the UK?* I know we have a nursing shortage in the US and nurses who are willing to take temporary assignments and work around the country are paid well and get the benefit of travelling to new places as well.... Absolutely. I know that theres a major shortage of Nurses over here, for various different reasons. We do have 'Locum' doctors and nurses who go from place to place and cover for hospitals who are short-staffed / have staff on annual leave etc.* I would consider looking into it, you never know if you don't try! :cool2: . I would think the nhs website would be the best place to start - www.nhs.uk as that would give you an idea what our National Health Service is like. I also googled Travel Nurses, and it came up with loads of websites for employment in the UK and all around the world!Good Luck! :cool1:
Well im checking in early this morning (early for me - really early for you guys! :scared1: )Im -1.5lbs this week  can you tell Im happy!Good luck everyone on weigh day! :goodvibes
