Hi everyone,

I hope I can join this club. I didn't really feel like reading all 1169 previous pages, but I guess everyone's welcome here?

Let me tell you all a little bit about myself:

My name is Marjol, I'm 27 yrs young and I live in the Netherlands. I'm an elementary school teacher. I'll be teaching 3rd grade this year, but I'm enjoying my summer vacation while it lasts :rotfl:
I have always loved Disney. I've been to Disneyland Paris (which is a 5 hour drive from where I live) 9 times and loved it every time. But my big dream always was to go to Disneyworld. And that dream came true! :cloud9: Last year, my boyfriend finally agreed to go and so we went, this may. And it was fabulous! It was so fabulous, that we're going back in april of next year! :woohoo:
And this time, it will be our honeymoon! We're getting married on april 22 and now I'm finally getting to why I'm here

I've been dealing with weight problems since puberty. I gained some weight each year, untill I weighed 220 lbs in september of 2003. Yikes...
I started Weight Watchers and with succes, in may of 2004 I was down to 168 lbs and felt great!
But I guess some of you know how it goes... I was satisfied, so became "easy" and started gaining weight again. I tried losing some again and again, but I was never really motivated!
But now, with the wedding in sight, I really want to lose some weight!
I'm back to 204 lbs and I hope to get down to at most 170 before my wedding!

So, I started my own diet last monday and so far it's gone really well. I'm weighing again tomorrow, so I'll see what my results are. I really believe I'm going to be succesfull this time! :cheer2:

WELCOME!!!! it's good to see you here! i'm sure you'll look beautiful for your wedding!

just so you know, we weigh in on fridays, meaning we post how much we've either lost or gained or if we've stayed the same in big bright numbers so that either utahmama or lexmelinda can keep a total of how much we've lost as a group! so when you weigh yourself this friday, remember that number and then compare it to next friday!

3.1 mile = 5K Woman's Race DONE!! :woohoo: fdil stayed with me, talked me thru it - that firsst half mile I wasss sgoing to fassst and couldnt deal well!! I did it in 46 min!! (unofficially!)

:cool1: :thumbsup2 :cool1: THAT'S SO AWESOME!!!!!!

WOOHOO !!! :cool1:

Congratulations! You Rock!!!

:welcome: Marjol!

just wanted to let everyone know i started my pre-TR for september. the link's in my signature. and wow....i have to say that my signature has become obnoxiously large! but i can't take anything off of it because it's all so important!

I totally know what you mean... my signature is huge, but it reminds me of where I've been and what I've been doing.

So, I started my own diet last monday and so far it's gone really well. I'm weighing again tomorrow, so I'll see what my results are. I really believe I'm going to be succesfull this time! :cheer2:

I weigh-in on Mondays, too. If you don't want to switch to Friday weigh-ins (like most of the Peeps did), you can just post your Monday results on Friday. I will tell you though, when it is a good week it is HARD to not say anything until Friday... not that I've had that problem in a while.

Way to go!!!!! You should be so proud of yourself! I'M PROUD OF YOU!:yay:

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! :goodvibes

I'm not going to change my weighing day to friday, so I'll just post my results on friday. I'll update my ticker in my sig on monday though :)

Hello Everyone!

A newbie here who would like to join in on your weight loss support. As you can see in my siggie I have 4 months to go before our 6th Disney trip. DH & I will be celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary(the actual date is July 31st) staying at the AKL. I have never been to WDW in December and am really looking forward to seeing the World decorated for the the holidays!

Which leads me to my reasons for being here. I've been in a long battle with my weight (since puberty, why does that happen!!??). I've tried many diets all with some form of success or another. My best success was with Atkins in 2004 when my best friend and I planned a cruise for our 40th birthdays. I started Induction in January '04 and by May '04 I had lost 60 lbs(this is not advised, I did Induction the entire 5 months). I slowly started gaining my weight back after returning from the cruise, then in February '06 my DMIL was diagnosed with cancer and on May 25, '06 she passed. It was devastating for everyone as she was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. After that I lost all motivation and have now gained all 60 back plus another 20:scared1:

So I'm ready to get back on track and get this monkey off my back so to speak. I started my own pseudo-Weight Watchers program without the meeting & journaling, (but I am going to start journaling this week) 2 weeks ago and lost 4.6 lbs. my first week and now 1.6 this week (I weigh in on Saturday mornings). So I'm very happy with my 6.2 loss and am very motivated to keep on going.

I've been having some back problems recently and with the help of my chiropracter I am getting better and he said I can get back on my treadmill this week! I will be walking 30 minutes each morning and working up to another 1 hour after work. My goal is to lose 40 lbs. by the time we leave for WDW December 1, 2007.

I would like to post a before photo, plus it's always nice to put a face to the name. This is me:
PhotoforWISHClub.jpg

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and becoming a support system to others! Have a great week everyone and I look forward to Friday's weigh-in (well my first weigh-in will be next week Friday since I weigh myself on Saturday morning)!:cool1:

Welcome to Tammy and Marjol!! So glad to have you here. :cheer2:

I have been rather MIA, went to the water park today. Wow it was crowded!

My skating "friend date" yesterday went really well. She is quite cool, and is trying to lose weight too so we have that in common as well as the NHL team we support (met her on a message board for that). I have such trouble making friends my age that are childless that I am excited whenever I find an opportunity for a new one. I think we are going to plan to go biking sometime in the next few weeks.

Aries, I pick the top choice. My "girls" have gotten bigger w/ weight gain and I am a bit self-conscious about it.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Morning Peeps!

Well, I think I made it. The doctor should be back in the country. He has rounds tomorrow at the hospital.

I've seen all the hospitals around here that were St. Josephs turn into Henry Fords, so I will email him tomorrow to see if we can have a closer hosital to deliver at. An hour drive to the hospital daily stinks for DH. If they can change our hospital it will only be a 15 minutes drive.

We celebrated my son's b-day early yesterday. I didn't want to have something change in our plans around his actual birthday Aug 10th, you know, like have a baby, and mess up his special time. Took a bunch of kids to Pump it Up. Do any of you have those where you live? A kids dream let me tell you. I know they are costly, but it's the last birthday party and that's where my boys have their last horrah!

Oh, and it's soo exciting to hear parents comment on Zach's weight loss. Those 9 pounds really made a huge difference. His clothes fit so much better and he looks slimmer and taller. I'm very proud of him.
Ok, I'm ready to have this baby. I've been experiencing pre-labor symptoms. I've never gone into labor with my other three. This is a very different pregnancy for me. I'd be shocked if I actually went into labor. It's scary if I do, because of all the past c-sections. The contractions could rupture my uterous.

I have an apt. this Thursday.

Wish me luck.

Good luck eyeore today! Can't wait to see how it goes.:goodvibes
Congrats on your son loosing the weight. Good luck with everything and I am glad that your Dr. is back in town. Please keep us updated. I know that I am only at 29 weeks, but I am sick of the heat and being tired a lot--ready for the day.

I feel like I'm living in an episode of the Twilight Zone today... does the world really exist? I don't know because I've had so little communication today.

I know hat you mean. Our phone has been quiet, there haven;t been many posts on the thread, I applied to all the jobs that were posted on Fri and then................chirp.............chirp crickets.

Welcome Marjol and Tammy! You'll love it here. There isn't anything you can say that one or more of us haven't already dealt with and the love and support is fantastic!

Congrats Sandy! I'm sure it feels great to have the first run under your belt.

I've got to get myself motivated to get some things done. I've been so lazy the last few weeks. I'm going to go clean my room, I always feel better when my room is clean. See y'all later!

:welcome: to the new Peeps! This is a great place!

Dene...I'm right there with ya! It has been way too quiet around here this weekend.

MonyMony...good luck with the baby! My DSIL's DSister just had her 2nd little girl on Saturday, Bridget. And quite a few girls at school are preggo as well. One of them was due last week and the poor thing waddled around the clinic all day. Anyway, hoping you stay comfortable and have a safe, easy delivery. :cloud9:

I've finished most of my client paperwork...just have to turn it in and wait for supervisor feedback. Can't do much more until that point. I have a final on Tuesday...nervous but not so nervous. Anxious for it to be over.

I just watched BB...no spoilers...but I'm confused about the nominees. Well one of them anyway. I definitely know who I want going home though.

Enjoy the last remaining hours of the weekend! I know I am...tomorrow is the first day in 7 weeks that I have not had to go to the clinic during the week. I will actually be home all day tomorrow. Which means I won't see A. :guilty: But it'll be so nice not to have to get up and get dressed and drive down there. Even if it means I'm be studying for a final. Ahh, the little things in life that make us happy.

Ok, enough rambling...Peeps, get talking!

Hi everyone! First time poster, but long time lurker. I've really enjoyed reading about everyone's successes and love the support that goes on here. I've been finding myself slipping on my diet and wanted to join in.

Last year at January, after spending what feels like much of my life being overweight, I finally found the motivation to start and stick with a diet. (Oddly enough this came from watching Kelly LeBrock on Celebrity Fit Club. I can't thank her enough for having the guts to go on that show). I started ediets shortly after the first of the year and followed the diet pretty much to the letter until May when I went to WDW with my family. I fell off the program then, but followed the plan about 90% or so for a few months. By October I had lost about 60 lbs and was starting to fit into a size 12 for the first time in about 20 years. I was thrilled.

Things started to fall apart in November when I was layed off from my job. I no longer had a set eating routine and the lbs started to creep back on. I regained about 12 lbs. I found a new job in NYC in Feb and that has proved to be an even greater hurtle. I've been caving in to the temptations of unlimited wonderful food. All my size 14's have become too tight and the shorts I bought myself last summer don't fit at all. I've been avoiding the scales for awhile now, and finally got on the scale again last week to find I was up nearly 30 lbs again.

The past week I've been doing my best to renew my efforts. I weighed in this morning to find I'd lost 2 lbs. :woohoo: Hopefully this will be the start of the scales going down again. My first goal is to be wearing those shorts again for my WDW trip at the end of September. The next is to fit into a size 10 coat I bought end of the season last year.

I'm looking forward to keeping track of everyone's success!:cheer2:

Hi everyone,

I hope I can join this club. I didn't really feel like reading all 1169 previous pages, but I guess everyone's welcome here?
:welcome: Marjol. I saw you on NSalz's trippie too. My first WW leader was Dutch, and I remember her saying how hard weight loss was for her because she loved butter so much. And I am so jealous of your DL Paris visits. I want to go there one day, but my DH thinks that is nutty.

WOOHOO !!! :cool1:

Mony    Jusst a heads up... (non mommy'ssss turn your headssss!SS! )))) (If you are in labor and feel lots of back labor, then get the urge to ummm an imodiumD moment - THAT"S THE BABY!!! It was a big *doh moment - I rolled over thinking I didnt want to 'hit' dh, and instead I rolled over and out popped my 10#+ baby girl!! Then I realized it wasss not back labor!! baby was movin down the canal!!)

Melinda :wizard: HAPPY BIRTHING DAY!! pixiedust:

3.1 mile = 5K Woman's Race DONE!! :woohoo: fdil stayed with me, talked me thru it - that firsst half mile I wasss sgoing to fassst and couldnt deal well!! I did it in 46 min!! (unofficially!)

I sstayed over at fdil, her roomie bartends at a place in a fun neighborhood - o at 9pm we sat at her bar, had a chocolate martini, then she had us try Lemoncillo!! DS called to wihs u s luck - - LOL "WHERE are you? WHAT are you doing? WHAT ARE YOU SAYING???" :rotfl2: We teased him!! :rotfl2:

It wass fun... the 1/2 marathon will probably kill me!

Thanks Dene for holdin down the fort!
Congrats on your race. I love your random multiple ssss. I'm reading Harry Potter now, and it looks like you're a parsel-tongue (if you're a muggle, that means she speaks snake).

:welcome: Wings. I love your user name.
That was such a corny ride, but we enjoyed it.

I'm back from leading the retreat w/DH. My eating wasn't the best, but I did keep track, which meant it wasn't as bad as it used to be on one of these things. Most of the couples were delightful, but one was not nice. Here comes my vent. There was a very weird dynamic going on with this couple, and he felt he had to lash out on his evaluation form against the other gal who was also leading the retreat with her husband. She was in tears when she read what he wrote, even though it wasn't true. The thing that really bugged me was that his fiancee came to talk to us earlier in the retreat to tell us he had a complaint, but he would not meet with any of us face to face. What kind of a man sends his little slip of a wife to do his complaining and then lashes out at women on a paper that won't be read until he's gone? I had a few choice words to say about him, mostly because he really hurt my friend. I know I need to forgive, but it's really harder to forgive someone who hurts a loved one than it is if they have only hurt you. Humph!

Jodi - LOVED your Simpsons look! I did that with a photo of my DD and it was pretty fun. I thought I had e-mailed it to myself too, but apparently I messed up the address.

Welcome and wishes for weight loss success to Marjol, Tammy and Wings! :dance3:

Marjol, we have a city of Holland in Michigan! My brother lives near there and I have some Dutch ancestry too.

Sandy, CONGRATS on your race!!!

Dene, sorry we were all post slackers this weekend!

Monica - Hope everything goes great with the delivery and you get to go to the closer hospital. I didn't know that they switched a bunch of hospitals over. The wife of a coworker got sent to Henry Ford Hospital for pancreatitis this past week. I'm guessing it is the main one.

Aries, I vote for the front design mainly because I think it will make for a better photo! I'd rather not have MY back-side in a photo, but I suppose we could figure out some camouflage if that is the consensus :rotfl2:

Lex - Check in with a mini-TR when you get back!!!

Lynda - I've been wondering how the wedding photos gig went all weekend . . .

Hello~

I have came across this thread a few times & never posted. I guess I just thought that an online group would never help me meet my weight loss goals. I've seen how supportive, friendly & successful everyone is on here & am hoping that I too can join in on all of the success you've had & make some great friends along the way. :)

So, here's my story:
I gained 90 pounds last year when I was pregnant. Yep, I was a pig & I ate a kit kat candy bar every day & basically just gave up on the idea of exercise & eating healthy portions. I pretty much ate 6 times a day and they were all great big portions...thanks to my DH & his wonderful cooking skills.

My DS was born last Nov. He is an awesome baby & the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love being a mom more then anything. I swore I'd lose the baby weight by the time he was 6 months old...well, that has come & gone. He'll be 9 months old in 2 weeks & I still have about 40 pounds to go to get back to my size 8/9. I've struggled with my weight my whole life, it's always been hard for me to stay in shape. I'm a former college basketball player though & I know what I need to do, I think I just need to find some support to keep me on track & motivated.

I am following a version of the South Beach Diet. I don't eliminate all carbs, I just try to make the best choices when it comes to eating carbs. No bread or pasta for me! I am spending my summer at the family home in Alaska so I'm not working, which has been great for getting lots of exercise. I have been walking/jogging everyday with my son in his stroller. I usually try to walk 5-6 miles a day & run 1-2. Running is not easy for me right now...but I'm trying to stick with it since I know it will help me get back in shape. Plus, I want to look as good as I possibly can for our trip to WDW in Sept. I'm a little nervous about a bathing suit right now...:scared1:

Anyhow, that's my first official introduction on this thread. I look forward to meeting all of you & will check in as often as I can. I usually try to get on the computer every day during my son's naps.

Have a wonderful evening...talk to you all soon :)
