by the way, i told you guys i would inevitably be sucked into the disney store. i got cinderella and ariel barbies (2 for $20), 2 disney princess t-shirts ($4.99 each) and a disney princess tea set ($14.99), all for my nieces for christmas. i love getting the christmas shopping knocked out early! :thumbsup2 oh, and i got a tink wallet for only $2.49 for myself because i don't want to lug around the monster wallet that i usually use while at disney!

Happy Birthday Wendy! Sorry I'm so late.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

OK....so....yesterday was eventful. I got a call from DD's principal at the middle school and she fell down the steps at school. She hurt her back which scared me. I got there and she was surrounded by teachers, had an ice pack on each arm, and her face was covered in mascara from the crying.

She shuffled out to the car and I took her to the UTC. The dr. determined it was her shoulder that was injured so she took an x-ray and couldn't determine if there was a break due to growth plates not being fused so they had to x-ray the healthy shoulder too. Anyway...she's still not sure and would like us to go to the orthopedist on Monday to have him look at the films. She's in a sling for the weekend.

 Tell your daughter that I'm thinking of her.

Melinda-Sorry about your baby girl falling. Let's hope she's just bruised and sore. My DD got hit in the eye when I was working at 3 different schools, and her school couldn't track me down. What made me mad was, they never even tried calling her dad, who was easy to reach. Did they think he wouldn't care because he was only the dad?

As for the margarita at church, we're Catholic, and the drinking gets ridiculous sometimes. I went to a pancake breakfast at one parish, and they had bloody Marys and screwdrivers. This was at about 9 a.m. DH doesn't drink at all, and I'm a total lightweight, so the one drink last night hit me hard (and it was a small). Right afterwards we met up with our former pastor, and I was giggly on the inside, wondering if he could tell I was looped.:hippie: DH says I didn't say anything stupid or weird. Thank goodness.

We're back to the festival tonight, to indulge another vice: gambling. They have cards called cherry bells where you peel up the little paper to see if you've won. They have bingo too, but I doubt I'll play that. It gets pretty cutthroat! :rotfl: Oh, and DH says we can try again on the :dance3: . I hope the band is good. I know there are churches that forbid that too. My great aunt was an Anabaptist, and they had no drinking, no dancing, no musical instruments. They sure could put on a potluck though. Every Sunday after services, you should have seen the spread. We all have to cut loose somewhere, right?

Oh, and one more thing- I have to vent! I bought a fridge from Sears.com on Wednesday night that was supposed to be delivered yesterday. After about 3 hours of phone calls (mostly spent on hold) they still couldn't tell me when the fridge would come, but they would send me an email Monday. I asked to speak to a manager. I swear she had a pointy black hat and a whiskery wart on her chin! She pretty much told me it was my problem that they couldn't tell me when to expect the delivery. She also lied about some of the situation on my order, based on what other staff told me. No apology, no trying to make things better. I got frustrated and cried (which I hate about myself) but I also told her I wanted to cancel the order. She said that if I went out and bought a fridge from someone else today, I wouldn't get it any sooner. I told her I didn't care, that I wanted to give my business to someone who didn't give me the runaround and lie to me. So here's my opinion; Sears will treat you like pooh: because they're the big stink in most towns. If you can buy your appliances from someone else, do it.

How annoying! My mom just got a new washer and dryer last weekend and she thought about going to Sears first but we decided on Lowe's. She got all of her kitchen appliances there as well and they have been very good about delivery and service. Hope you get a fridge you like from a store you like!

Look what Mal got to do at the Zoo yesterday.

She got to fee a giraffe!

Cool! (but that tongue is gross!)

Small worry on my hands here...last night I was scoring a standardized test for one of my clients at work/internship. He has already qualified for articulation therapy, but I needed to do another language measure before I could get him in for language therapy. He desperately needs it. He is bright but his auditory processing is not so hot. So I scored the test and low and behold, he doesn't qualify! His mom, who is a nutjob, is going to flip! He's not even on the cusp of qualifying. Completely and totally within 1 standard deviation. Man, I'm so nervous to tell this to my supervisor on Monday.

We learned that their tongues are 20 inches long and they are black so they don't get sunburned.

Wonders: you'll probably learn that you will have many of these situations in your line of work, and once you get throught this one, the others shouldn't be so hard.

Lexy: I've been thinking of your DD and I hope she is feeling better. How's the game?

Wendy: that video was hilarious, What ever! I watch a little girl in my daycare and they could be twins!

Hey Malorie come here I wanna show you something..........J/K

Don't worry. It is not like you could falsify the test to. The standards are there for a reason. Is there another test that you could give him. I know this is frustrating--been there with my own who has a language disorder. Good luck.

That is neat, but oh my the tongue is just disgusting.

I know. I guess because I'm "new", I feel like I could have made a mistake. But I really don't think I did. And I have already given him 2 other language tests. Varying scores but not quite enough to get him qualified I don't think. He is coming to our office for therapy but his mom would much rather do it through the school because then it would be free. But without qualifying on the tests, he won't get the services.

Cool about the tongue thing! And I know I just have to get used to it. Everyday I learn or experience something new and the next time I do it, it's always a little easier.

i just balanced my checkbook and realized i made a $400 error.....in our favor!!!!! :woohoo: now i can make a big payment on the equity line like i had hoped.

danielle - gambling and margaritas? sounds like my kinda church! (by the way, these little jokes about church are just that - jokes. i hope i'm not offending anyone.)

Here's a few more.

HI everyone!:goodvibes

Melinda,sending prayers Dd's way.Please keep us updated.

Mony mony,love the pics!:thumbsup2

Dawn, your neices are going to love the stuff from the Disney store.

Today my DH was talking football and said something about kicking his "****".Rachel said " no daddy you mean kicking his a**":scared1:

:grouphug: Hugs for your DD, Melinda. Hope she feels better real soon.

I am a lapsed Church of Christ member too - ever since my DD went to NC for grad school, when I attended it made me miss her much more when I would see her friends there all the time. I was sitting in church practically in tears every Sunday. So I am still taking a break and trying to decide whether to just suck it up and go or find a different church to attend.

Thanks for posting those videos. They were hilarious!!!

GOOD MORNING PEEPS

Melinda cant imagine the football at your house yesterday!! :rotfl2:

kAmy aw yep, that's never good - I like the line I tell parents "dont believe all the things you hear from school, and I wont believe all the stories I hear at school" (but of course, I prefaced it with communication is vital - please stay in touch...)

BRRRRRrrrrr so cold, heat came on again, not arecord, just in the low 40's :rotfl2: it may get up to 68 today - :rotfl2: Monday - 80, Wed 88!! Yes, that's the saying, if you dont like the weather in Chicago today, stick around by tomorrow it will be different!!

DD and I went to bed at 9:30 last night - I wanted her to get a goodnight's sleep - hopefully she'll wake in time for Church today!! (Lutheran's here - but my uncle is a Church of Christ minister!!)

Moo  I hear that - its hard. I've sat and cried in church too - go where your heart leads you - "going to church on Sunday doesnt make you a Christian, anymore than going to the garage makes you a car" :rotfl2: I know that's silly, but when I first heard that - it was so freeing for me!! Why do our kids grow up so? (I'm getting teary as I keep thinking my first born baby is getting married... buying a house...)

Monica too precious!! Thanks for sharing. DD was looking over my shoulder - and she asked how old Zach is!

GMA is dong a segment on "early maturing girls" psycho social problems... anything we can do? I think there are lots of something for intervention.. healthier food choices and exercises... breast feeding has a protrective affect, studies are showing, there are lots of intervention practices...

:scared1:

and have a Blessed Sunday!!
Prayers for Ryan....

GOOD MORNING!

THE SUN SHINES BRIGHT ON MY OLE KENTUCKY HOME!
CATS :woohoo: and CARDS  Here's the link if anybody wants to see.

THANKS SO MUCH, EVERYBODY for the sweet well wishes for DD. She was VERY sore yesterday and still had to go babysit last night. (That mom wouldn't have found another sitter within 50 miles due to the football game!) Thankfully the girls she kept weren't baby-babies so she didn't have to lift/carry. She did call me to bring her some ibuprofen. :sad1: I think she's just sore and bruised like Danielle said.

Danielle
....Sorry about your fridge and the evil whiskery wart lady at Sears! I'm sure you were looking forward to getting your fridge yesterday. I'd cry too.

Monica
....The giraffes are so cute! They're sweet and gentle like really tall cows aren't they?

EVERYBODY
..... :wave2:

Gots to get ready for Sunday School! Have a wonderful day!
