Happy Saturday!

I wasn't able to post my starting weight yesterday as I was gone ALL day! Here it is:

STARTING WEIGHT 185.4

I know. Gutsy to put it right out there, huh? But isn't the first step to losing weight admitting what it is in the first place? Next week I hope I can post a pound or two less.

*Welcome to razz! This thread is so motivational. I'm a newbie too, but this is a friendly thread so post away!

I’ll send out prayers to those who need them especially, and also to all of us that we’ll have the strength to meet our goals and LOVE the image in the mirror!

Have a beautiful weekend!

Thanks everyone who welcomed me. You all such an inspiration and I can't wait to be losing wieght with you all. Also just checking in and prayers and hugs to everyone who needs them.:grouphug:

were at the beach right now

My little one is sick with fever 101.5 and has just been laying here and saw the Mickey heads and he perked up for a minute smiling and say MICKEY!! your DD is adorable!! Have fun at the beach. We got much needed rain here today--didn't rain long enough but it was rain none the less. Have a good night everyone.

aries, how cute!!

Abish, I am so proud of you! Posting weight is a hard thing and heck, admitting weight is hard. I started at (gulp) 218 so I know for me even looking down at that scale was bad! However I am tall (5'8) so I don't know what 185 means to you.

Speaking of which (minor rant ahead), I hate that in magazines, or TV shows like the Biggest Loser, that they post weights and weight losses without height! Height makes a HUGE difference in what you look like at different weights.

pigget, sorry about Joshua's fever. :(

I seem to have caught a minor cold. Meh. This always happens when I spend time w/ my brother and his wee ones. I slept about 14 hours last night.

I think I am going to try and use my new gazelle (well, new to me, a coworker gave it to me) anyhow... anyone know the stats on working out with a cold? This is a just a minor one, stuffy head and a bit of a sore throat.

i was gonna do one of these for my september trip, but since DH isn't going i didn't want to rub it in! although i did invite him.....but he's in school right now AND it's football season and the one thing he loves more than disney (besides me, of course ;) ) is football. so i wouldn't dream of forcing him to go during his favorite time of year. anyway, i'm definitely doing one for our april trip! is it ridiculous to start counting 6 months out? :rolleyes1

i love the pics of aniella! (i hope i spelled that right!) this is my favorite one.....kiddie feet are so precious!

i haven't been around much today.....too busy cleaning because dad and my brother and my brother's girlfriend are coming to visit tomorrow. my house is spotless....such a good feeling! :woohoo: i wonder how long it'll stay that way. anyway, i'm going to six flags tomorrow with them and then i probably won't be around too much until wednesday when they leave. hope everyone has a good weekend!

I'm home from the coffee date. He looked sick...I could see it in his eyes but he wasn't coughing or sneezing. Anyway, we met up at Barnes and Noble around 2:30 and I pulled out of there at 5:30 so a nice long afternoon of talking and getting to know each other more. Whenever I'm with him, I just want to sit with him forever. Darn't. I just don't want to get hurt (which I'm afraid will happen because that is always what ends up happening to me). Although he has done nothing yet to hurt me. We shall see.

I gotta go get some work done. Have a great night peeps! :cutie:

I'm 5'7", so I don't know if that's considered "tall" or not (it's probably about average, I think.) I will say that most people don't think I weigh that much, but TRUST me, when I put a 14 on (and plenty of size 16s too!) it's tight. Like, ouch, that button just put a permanent indentation in my stomach roll tight!

I've been doing really well about drinking water. I feel a little weird - sloshy? - but I am trusting the wisdom of the PEEPS board and I'll keep on drinking.

I also checked today to see how many calories my beloved Chocolate Covered Pretzles have (I always buy them in bulk at the store, so I had to look online). Unfortunately, it's WAY more than I thought. So, I divvied up the ones I had on hand into ziploc bags according to the portion size, and I'll enjoy them occasionally as a snack. As for my other BIG trouble-food (or beverage), Pepsi, should I just go cold turkey?

Looking back on the earlier pages of this thread, I've come across some AWESOME ideas. Plenty of information and (what's more important for me!) MOTIVATION! You guys are the gurus of good eating, the experts of exercise, and lay-on-the-floor-laughing HILARIOUS to boot!

i felt that way at first, too. but it eventually passed. i crave the water now and i feel so thirsty when i don't get enough. it'll grow on you!

by the way, LOTR the two towers is on TNT right now for those of you interested. it's about halfway through, maybe a little more. i've seen it a thousand times, but i'll take viggo mortenson with long greasy hair and orlando bloom with blonde hair and pointy ears any day!!! YUM! i want to learn to speak elf.....it's so elegant!

I would recommend cutting down on the soda. Cutting it out cold turkey will likely give you killer headaches if you are anything like me.

I read that line and literally said Awwww out loud  It sounds like you two are at least becoming very good friends for now and that is a great start to whatever it may turn out to be in the end.

Hi everyone!

Tomorrow is Malorie's birthday party. The big sister is going to be 3!

She is so excited.

I've been cooking all day.

Tim picked up my sister's moonwalk, she rents them out, and it's so cute she calls it a jumpy jump.

Some of the daycare kids are coming and I'm very excited to see them. I haven't seen some of them in over a month.

When there's a new baby around all the other kids look huge to me. Even Mal did. I bet they all seem like they grew a foot.

Thought I'd check in.

I was reading about losing weight right after a having a baby. The article said to wait at least 6 weeks especially if you are nursing. When you are losing weight you go into Ketosis and that can be harmful to a nursing infant. They don't recommend losing more than a pound a week while nursing.

So I thought after six weeks, eat sensibly, not like a dieter and just walk alot.

I ate a few salads this week cause I love them and it gave the baby lots of poops. Not a good thing.

Ok, have a good night.

Hey guys! Sorry it has been so long. Life is busy as usual. The class I am in now is kicking my butt!!! Jackson started playing tackle football. Just when I thought we were going to have a normal schedule! Work is equally as crazy.

Heather, I hope Joshua gets to feeling better soon.

Aries, cute!!! What beach are you at?

Monica, how are you? You sound like you are doing great.

Shannon, I am so excited for you. Any pics yet?

I just read the last page. I have to go to bed - early church tomorrow.

Sorry, if I missed any birthdays or other big events.

Okay, last post and I'm off to bed. My kids get up early even if I don't want to!

I just had to say that my iPod has made exercising so much easier for me. It's cheaper than a treadmill (although I'm considering that purchase, especially as fall and winter in Michigan are not conducive to outdoor exercise) but it gives my mind something to "do" while I'm walking. I download free podcasts and, occasionally, some music from Itunes. My husband purchased it for himself but I've sort of commandeered it from him (thanks, honey!) and it's great! If I didn't have it I'd be kind of bored, walking around the neighborhood I've lived in nearly all of my life. (Ooh, the Jensons got new hanging baskets! Did the Millers move? I always liked their mailbox covers...)

Wow, gurus and experts!! I just feel lost most of the time...

I would definitely cut back on the Pepsi... either move to diet sodas, or maybe tea? I wouldn't go complete cold turkey on the caffeine though, I would gradually move that down. Personally I still have mine, just through coffee (w/ skim milk and sweet n low) and some diet sodas.

i felt that way at first, too. but it eventually passed. i crave the water now and i feel so thirsty when i don't get enough. it'll grow on you!

I'm with Dawn on this one... took me forever to get used to drinking all this water and I still quite frankly hate it, but I choke it down in the name of diet medicine!

Shannon, glad your non-date went well.

Abish, I totally agree on the music or other distractions while exercising. I have a phone that plays mp3s so I use that at the gym, with high energy music so I have to keep up with it. Lately I also have been taking a book or magazine to the gym and reading while doing the elliptical or arc trainer... means I do it without holding on but I think that is supposed to help your balance and core muscles anyhow.

I have a stupid cold. Took my nyquil and all my vitamins and extra vitamin C and am planning to sleep all day tomorrow in the hopes that it will go away by Monday...

I just did 6 real pushups, not modified! You guys inspire me. I did 6 more modified (on my knees, not my toes) after that.
Danielle....Thank goodness your mom doesn't have to stay there too long. Is she in a rehab facility? Or is it a nursing home? Will she be able to go home and live independantly after the 2-4 weeks or will she need in home care? Anyway...prayers continuing for you all.

She is in a nursing home, but she is mostly there because they do PT. She has a live-in care-giver when she is home, because she has been paralyzed on her left side for 10 years, since her first stroke at age 69. One of the reasons I can't give up on my quest for health is because I don't want the same heartache for myself and my loved ones that we have all experienced because of my mom's health problems. There are so many things I admire about my mom, but when it comes to health, I look to my MIL. She is 74, and the only time she has spent in the hospital in the 26 years I've known her is when she fell and broke her pelvis in her aerobics class. She is not naturally thin, but makes the decision everyday to watch what she eats and to get up and move. She is such a great role model!

Speaking of which (minor rant ahead), I hate that in magazines, or TV shows like the Biggest Loser, that they post weights and weight losses without height! Height makes a HUGE difference in what you look like at different weights.
I also hate when they just plain lie about the weight. Every 4th of July my friend buys the tabloid with the fat or fit pictures of celebs (OK I know it's trashy, but it's our summer tradition). One picture said how fat Drew Barrymore was (and she wasn't), then it said she was 5' 5" and weighed 123 lbs. That would be somewhere around size 2 or 4, and I know she's not that small. Then it had a picture of Queen Latifah, and it said she was something like 5' 8" and 173 lbs. Now I think we all know she's somewhere north of 200, and I personally feel that she is beautiful, but why lie about the weight? I'm afraid someone else who really is that height and weight will think, "Gosh, I don't feel that big, but I must be." I guess that's what I get for thinking I would find truth in the tabloids.

Whenever I'm with him, I just want to sit with him forever. Darn't. I just don't want to get hurt (which I'm afraid will happen because that is always what ends up happening to me). Although he has done nothing yet to hurt me. We shall see.
That is the risk we all take when we enter a relationship. That's why it takes years to build real trust and intimacy. When you say that hurt is what always happens to you, just remember, that's what has happened to most people on their journey to happiness. We kiss a few frogs before we find a prince. So just think of the past as some lessons in what you don't want, and allow this friendship to blossom into what it will be. I have always told DH that I never regret all the carp I went through before I met him, because that is what formed me into the woman I am, the woman he loves and who truly loves and appreciates him.
OK, it's already Sunday where most of you are, so there's your first sermon of the day. Have a blessed day. (I'm gonna do one more set of pushups).

Did I beat LexMelinda to the morning hellos? LOL.

I can't sleep. I have hip pain and there's no comfy position and I'm tapped out with Tylenol and Advil....DARNIT.

So I'm sewing!!!!

Today is Norah's 3rd birthday :yay: MY BABY!!!!

Yesterday I took her to WAlmart to get birthday pictures done. :scared1:
It was a combination of inexperienced, unimaginative photographer and a 3 year old who was DONE after 1 picture. :sad2: I usually go to Sears but I have to save $$. The end result was very cute, though. But plain.
