Heather I am so sorry to hear about Christi. I will keep her and her family in my prayers.

My brother went in for surgery again today. They are trying to get his heart to go back to a regular rhythm. No pacemaker because of previous surgery.

I have not been peepish these past few days myself. I made fudge for gifts tonight and all but stuck my head in the pot to lick off the leavings after I had put the fudge in the dish to cool. I worked 12 hours today, then had to shop and then make the fudge, so nothing left for exercise. I'll try again tomorrow.

Lynda, I'm sorry too that a DL meet won't work. I'm just going to have to plan a WDW peep meet one day. Are you getting excited about January yet?

I am stressed and excited about this week at school. Stressed because we have so much to do and we were just told that the school will not be accessible during the break. I am excited though, because our theme this week is Santa, and we have lots of fun surprises for the kids. For instance, tomorrow, Santa is our student of the week. The kids can ask me questions about him, then we draw pages in a book for him and the kids dictate a sentence about him. Friday, he will be coming to visit. Our Santa is a carpenter, and every year he makes a wooden car for each of the students. and if we are lucky, Mrs. Claus (age 101) will be making a visit too. Here are her

pictures some of you have seen if you've been on this thread for a year.

TO ONE OF OUR FAVORITE NEW PEEPS:

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY, TIA!!!

Morning.

Looked for those books yesterday briefly. No luck.

LYNDA: That would be totally awesome if you can go again the same time as us. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed! I am still shooting for a Cedar Point meet in the middle.

Today is the BIG DAY in our house. I'm taking DH to his special Dr.'s apt this morning. Please keep him in his thoughts today while he is icing his sore spot.

He's always been the supporter. He's never had to undergo anything like this all the time we've known each other. I wonder how he'll hold up?

Lots of prayers are going out to my peeps. I'm so sorry for all the tough situations. There are so many. My heart goes out to the kids who are affected in these situations.

Have a blessed day!

GOOD MORNING! :sunny;

I'm behindish again. I'll catch up over Christmas when nobody is around. Geez....they'll probably shut the DIS down for updates again over Christmas like they did last year.

Heather....I start to cry every time I think of Christi leaving those two sweet babies. I just have to trust that God has a plan.

Danielle
....Mrs. Claus is just too cute! I love to see older people who really love life. Such an inspiration. I'll be praying for your brother.

Kim....Your goals look just like mine from this time last year! My calories were 1440, I drank my water, and walked 2 mi. about 4 times per week. It worked for me!

EVERYBODY
.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

DH went on the 29th of November and I picked him up. Lets just say I have a lot of funny stories. He could not remember anything and kept asking the same questions over and over. He did well and as your DH has never had anything like this. He slept the rest of the day and most of the next. He was sore for about a week.

Good Morning Gals!

I am feeling ver unmotivated at work today so my plan is to do as little as possible :cool1:. That was also the case when I got home last night and did not go to the gym. That is OK though. I still have 4 more days to get my 3, pre-trainer workouts in. I am going out tonight to buy myself a set of bands to keep up the workout she gave me. I might bring them to work and use them during lunch.

Last night we went to see an amazing "Christmas Garden" at a local firehouse. It was beautiful but my 20 month old was playing the role of poster child for birth control. It was ugly!:scared: Thankfully, he was back to his sweet self this morning. Sometimes it feels like I live with Cybil and her twin sister.

UM, I got my books but refuse to start reading them until after the holiday. My plan is to bring the first one to work with me next week while nobody is here.

DisneyObsession, I will be checking out Nora Roberts' vampire books on Amazon. Thanks for the tip.

Punkin, I love the "burn". It makes me feel like I am accomplishing something. I have tried to duplicate the workout she gave me but since I don't have the bands yet I used my free weights. I am still feeling it but nearly to the degree I was on Sunday. BTW, I loved the video, thanks for sharing.

dwheatl, Your brother is in my prayers today. Keep us posted. The pictures of Mrs. Claus are precious! I only hope to be able to get out of bed if I make it 101. Good for her!!

Monica and Lynda, It looks like 3 of us will be in WDW at the same time in 2008...:cheer2: Monica good luck to your DH.

Melinda, I certainly hope my goals help to at least ward off some of the typical holiday weight gain.

Tia, pixiedust: :bday: party: pixiedust:
HAPPY 30TH!!

Have a great day Peeps!!

party: :bday: party: Tia!! Hope your day is extra special!

Okay, so I need some strength today. It is "Building Fest" day:headache: .... tons of food, little of it healthy, much of it full of sugar :sad2: . I came into today with a plan, but I don't know if it will work:

I ate breakfast, but a lower cal breakfast than usual to leave some wiggle room. I usually have oatmeal, but I had a Cottage Double instead. Lots of protein and ~120 cals. My plan is to completely stay away from the cookies and cakes -- don't need the sugar crash. I will try to chose things that have protien and stay away from the empty calories. Someone already brought in Chik-Fil-a and all the smells mixed with all the crockpot smells were killing me :rolleyes1 , so I took 3 small chicken nugget bite things to hold me until lunch. Don't know what I'll have then, but I AM NOT GOING TO PIG OUT ALL DAY... Thank goodness I share an office with other people who would see me eating -- this thought is keeping me from going out and grabbing a whole bunch of cookies (plus now I know exactly how many calories are in those cookies and what those cookies will do to my waist). I'm planning a small lo-cal dinner.

I will get through this!!

Anyone else having food temptations today??

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIA!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: Hope you are feeling better.

Dawn - I love the way your nephew was tapping his foot to keep time. They did a good job! DD has her piano recital tonight. I teach preschool with her teacher and we decided it was best to make her go first, so that she doesn't freak out. I know she knows her song, but I am afraid she will freeze up in front of everybody.

Hope everyone else is doing well. I've got to finish cleaning house, fill out Christmas cards, and mail packages. Whew I'm tired after just reading that! :rotfl2:

Dawn...I can't watch the video here, but will check it out when I get home. I also got on that site with the Disney TV programming schedule! :thumbsup2 Thanks!!!

I am working my last week here at State Farm and then after a week off, start my new job with Allstate on Jan 2nd. :yay: I am very excited and am looking forward to the new challenges! Still don't know if Insurance is what I want to do when I grow up, but it's where I am now! :)

:santa: Have a Great Day All!!! :goodvibes

I know I complained about our streets not being plowed. So, it's probably my fault then that the day they do plow the streets, my mom's car is parked out front, and I take my DH to get a vasectomy.

We come home to a good 3 foot high and 4-5 foot thick wall of snow in front of our driveway. Mom's car is snowed in.

DH can't do any heavy lifting. He needs to rest for a few days.

I run a business.

I have to get not only the drive cleared, but my mom shoveled out.

This is fine example of my luck.

Oh lucky me!

Oh no Monica!! Hope DH feels better soon. I want my DH to do that as well but he is still afraid of it.

Happy Birthday Tia!!

I have actually been holding strong lately, not entirely sure why. Perhaps because sweets aren't my weakness and Christmas seems to be mostly about sweets. Once you stick salt in my path, though, watch out!!

My birthday is Monday so I am sure I will give in Monday/Tuesday, then the week of NY will be hard since we are doing Christmas w/ his family Sunday, then NYE then NY Day.

I just hope it doesn't push me back off the path.

MA pigletfan Yeah for babies.

punkin413 DH always says if it don't hurt you didn't work hard enough

monymony3471 I was going to ask what the big day was and then I read it later on. I don't know if I missed that you said you were taking him there or what. I was so said the day I took DH to that appt almost 2 years ago. I so would love to have another baby but of course that's not possible. I asked him to get a reversal the other day and he looked at me like I had four heads.

dwheatl Your brother are in my prayers. Yum, fudge. Mrs Claus :lmao: that's all I can say. My sons had a woman who was about that old too working at their preschool as a sub teacher. She was so cute and the kids loved her.

MJMouse I really needed a McDonald's breakfast sandwich today the McGriddle with bacon. That was way worse than your chicken sandwich.

Tia :cake: :bday:

DITTO FROM ME!!!!!!! i hope you have a wonderful day today and are feeling better, tia! THIS IS YOUR YEAR!!!

Geez....they'll probably shut the DIS down for updates again over Christmas like they did last year.

what????????? say it ain't so! :scared1:

Anyone else having food temptations today??

me! i didn't get a lunch break until 4:30.....yes, you read that right. attorneys are my favorite (no offense, pixie - i'm sure you're not like that!). so instead of coming home and fixing myself something healthy i went to the mexican place and had nachos. what a great decision on my part, huh?

during a break in court today i was complaining at one point about being hungry and a girl that works in the district attorney's office said something about she's not hungry because she fasts on tuesdays and thursdays. i asked her why and she said because she's dieting. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? i asked her how much she'd lost on that diet and she said a little at first but none lately and she's gained some back. well, duh! i explained to her in a very nice way that starving yourself is almost as bad as overeating, that your body hangs on to everything you give it when you do give it food and it slows down your metabolism. she said she read somewhere that your body needs a break from food every now and then. i said to her, "that's like saying your car needs a break from gasoline." where do these people get this stuff???? i told her what i had learned on this board about your goal weight x 12 = calorie intake per day, water consumption, lots of fiber, etc. i hope i helped her out some with my unsolicited advice today!

People have some seriously crazy ideas about dieting!!

Sorry that you caved, D. I just, finally, got off the phone for the first time today. And yes, it is 7PM... I was on a conf call from 10AM-4PM and then have had one issue after another...

Luckily I threw a lean cuisine panini and some salad fixin's in my bag and was able to break away long enough to heat up my food.

In bad news, the dentist appt this morning did not go well... I have to have 3 old fillings replaced, and one new one, and one filling cracked my tooth the point that I am going to need a crown. I am having the fillings done tomorrow but saving the crown until next year's round of insurance.

Kat, I'm having crown 13 done right now and I have 3 more teeth "on watch" which means that I will have to crown them within a year. Thank goodness I'm almost out of teeth and the madness will stop in a year or two. Most crowns done in one year was 7 in 2006. I'm so glad I wore braces for 12 years as a child so that when I hit middle age, I could do all of this dental work. I have to be knocked out for crowns (fear issues) and insurance doesn't cover any of that. I max my benefits every year.

Tia--Happy birthday. Hope you are feeling better.

Danielle Pixie dust for your brother.

I've been terrible on my diet and I'm ashamed of myself over it. Especially since I go to WDW in 3 weeks and I know I'll be bad, bad bad.

I've been having a fun two days at work. I'm calculating year end bonuses. It's my favorite thing out of all that I do. I won't get mine until Jan but I'm already giving thought to what I'm going to do with the part I don't put into retirement.

I haven't been posting much because I'm too busy reading those vampire books Wendy recommended. Between work and those books, there is no time for anything else.

If we were doing a Diet Tip of the Day, I would contribute this:

DON'T eat dried apricots by the handful unless you want to spend some serious time on the toilet!!!!

I bought a big bag of they yummiest dried apricots at Costco today. I wanted the dried Mangos but was distracted by the apricots. I munched on them all the way home. And while wrapping some presents.

Let's just say by jeans sure fit great now!!!! :cool2:
