We had the same experience with youngest ds. Thought it was just a cold for him...did a test and it turned instantly positive. He only had cold-like symptoms. He is fully vaccinated. He spent the rest of his days in his room...and only going to the bathroom and wiping the surfaces with lysol wipes when exiting the bathroom, as we only have one bathroom in our home. It didn't spread to anyone else in our home.So last night I decided to take a home covid test since I had a bit of a cough and I was going to badminton with a friend so I wanted to assure her that no it's not COVID just a cold. Well imagine my surprise when I got a positive result. I thought we maybe it was wrong so I took another one this morning and yup you guessed it I have covid. My nephew and I both have tested positive and his girlfriend and my brother are both negative. I am trying to stay away from everybody and we are wearing masks in the house. The little cough which is now gone was my only symptom. I have no lost my taste or smell.

Thanks for your concern. I am fine. Never had any issues except my family said my voice sounded like I had a cold. Yippee I tested negative today so I am good to go out again and it was the 5 days recommended on the Ontario site. I wear a mask all the time when I am out so no problem with that. How are you doing today @juniorbugman ? I hope your recovery was uneventful.
Welcome Home Hon.Home! The drive home seemed very long. I think I was anxious to get back to Canada and know how fast I could drive without having to figure it out. Pets are all happy to see us. Fridge is empty, the power was off for 5 days, my mom paid my niece to clean my fridge for me before we got home. I'll need to get rid of a few things from the freezer still but I didn't want her going in the basement, Olaf tends to climb up into the ceiling and walls if let in that part of the basement. I wasn't sure she would be able to keep him out. I had groceries delivered this evening. We did covid tests on the ship last night and were both negative. I think it helped we spent time in the cabin, sitting on the balcony, etc. We will test again in a few days and make sure we are still negative before we go out and about.
The ship was nice enough, but I think I prefer the smaller classes. There were some differences from pre-covid times. One thing I was glad to have was the refreshment package, nice iced latte every morning, a few virgin drinks each day and the coke freestyle machines whenever we wanted.
Kind of sad I had vacation last week, I wouldn't have been able to work with no power, internet didn't come back until yesterday. But I guess it worked out for the best. I did get lots of steps and activity! Especially the day we went to Coco Cay and did the water slides. There was a lot of good food on the ship, but I don't think I really over ate, though it was nice having 3 course meals that I didn't have to cook every day! Sleep was an issue, apparently I snore too loudly and he couldn't sleep so he would kick my bed to wake me up. Then he would fall asleep and I could go back to sleep until he woke up again, and since he is a pooptastic sleeper that was at least once or twice a night.
Sunburned, at Coco Cay. I thought we were putting on enough sunscreen but apparently not! His feet ended up burned, and my back/shoulders. I still hurt, but he's all healed up and just looks tanned now. I do think I'm going to bed early tonight, and hopefully I'll be all ready for work tomorrow! New manager started the week before my holidays and I'm anxious to see what's going on. No holidays or days off really until July. A long stretch of work daysIt will make me appreciate the vacation more when it arrives.
Now if only the ship would stop moving it would be great, or the house I guess? It feels like I am still in motion. Always happens after a cruise, still worth it.

That was me last year. I did gain about 5 lbs over winter, but nothing too bad. But was not seeing much progress on anything even with going regularly to the gym. So I'm being more mindful about my food choices (still not giving up eat hamburgers or a slice of pizzaI went down two band witdth sizes. All my shorts from last year had to go out. Unfortunately I don't like many of the replacement ones I've seen yet. I will have to get on that before the hot weather hits.
Well, I am seriously considering purchasing tickets to a Blue Jays game for dh for father's day and a present for 15 yrs sober birthday as well. So it would be a quick long weekend trip for us. Dh has reward nights with his hotels.com that are expiring soon, and if we fly swoop or flair, it's a cheap flight from Edmonton to try and keep our costs down.
My question to all of the Onatrians on these boards, how using using uber/lyft to get around? Would it be better to rent a car to get around? What else is a must see? I would love to go to Niagara Falls so that would be a full day. We are used to driving and have no problem spending 3-4 hrs to go see things.
Any ideas/suggestions for me? We have never been in Ontario (besides landing at YYZ) so we have zero idea of what to do or expect.
He is yes. With work, he's been driving in LA, Atlanta and a few other large cities. So he is used to it. Driving is not a big deal for us.Are you good driving in BUSY cities?
