Did you use the low fiber diet before prep day from that website you posted about several years ago? I thought that diet really made the difference for me when I had mine in 2006. I remember being so grateful for the info from that site. I sure hope I thanked you back then, just in case, a BIG THANK YOU today

Yes I did...and you're welcome. I can't take credit for it, but I do follow it when I need to prep. For this Movi-prep you drink 1 liter of prep starting at 6:00pm. then the 2nd liter 5hrs prior to the colonoscopy, so 3:00a.m...don't expect to see me posting then.:lmao: Hubby bought a bottle of white wine that's just been sitting in the fridge. I think I'll have a glass in the jacuzzi when I'm done for the night. :goodvibes I get to do it all over again (with GoLytely) for surgery!:cheer2: :faint:

I spent part of the day with my mom at the hospital. Today was her second epidural. They're hoping that the three injections along with physical therapy will strengthen her back so she doesn't need back surgery. One more to go. I have my fingers crossed.

I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday. This week has been crawling by. One more week until our spring break and I'm SO ready for a mini vacation.

So how is everybody today? You're always on my mind....(now I've got myself humming) :rotfl: GAGWTA!

Laura, how are you doing? Hope the colonoscopy went well - as well as those things can go anyway! :goodvibes

Merry, good wishes for your mom. :wizard:

How's everybody else doing? LMP? JSG? Linda? Snappy? Ann? Maureen? LOL, that's all my memory is good for right now, sorry if I'm leaving anybody out. :grouphug:

It was 60 degrees here today!!!! :sunny: OMG, it was wonderful! Well, except for the part I spent at the denist, but heck, I'd go to the denist everyday for weather like that! :rotfl:

:goodvibes GAGWTA!!! :goodvibes

Hubby and I were in the waiting room and I told him a thought went through my mind...what if my colon looked good? I immediately told him I guess it's wishful thinking, crazy, ect. Well, guess what....doc said my colon has never looked this good!!!! No signs of anything, and in Oct. it looked very bad. He thinks maybe I had a stomach virus a couple of weeks ago and the methotrexate is working. If I had surgery right now, they would be removing a HEALTHY colon! I am floored...actually more like down on my knees praising God!:worship: Doc told me to go back on the methotrexate (only been off for 2 weeks) and he would see me next week with the biopsy results but he is not expecting anything but more good news! I really did not want to do this colonoscopy, thank God the dr. did!!!!!!!!!!!

So what does all this mean? I don't know, but am praising God for it and I know I can postpone my surgery indefinitely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2: :dance3: :jumping1: :rainbow: :jumping3: :jumping2: :bounce: :Pinkbounc party:

Cheryl, enjoy the sunshine.

JSK, how is the eye today?

Laura, what a happy not to mention healthy sounding post!

Hooray!!

Sounds like a celebration is in the wings!

WDW?

Great news, Laura! :goodvibes (I wonder who put that thought into your head in the waiting room? )

Merry, I've been in the same spot a couple of times recently with my DH. His second shot made things a little better, but his back hurt a LOT from the procedure itself. He really doesn't want a third but doc said it may take 3 to do the trick, so he probably will at some point. He follows up today.

Cheryl, so nice to have good weather! :sunny: It's sunny here today, too.

Things are going fine here except we've had a lot of "illness". First, DH was sick with bronchitis. DD went to a sleepover over Feb vacation with all the girls in her class and the baby there was quite sick. Most if not all of the girls got sick afterward, one with pneumonia. DD has not been right since. She had a cough and fever for a week, but then last weekend (not sure if I posted about it) she developed a huge, itchy rash all over her trunk and neck. Doc she saw was puzzled, thought most likely it was a viral rash, everything else was negative. Then DS got sick this week with cough and fever, too (waiting for the rash, LOL). Had yearly "well visits" yesterday and pedi was concerned with how sick they both looked, but again, everything negative. So I'm running around with the Lysol wipes and sound like a broken record reminding them about handwashing, covering mouths, etc. The odds against me are running out as it's been about a month now with all these germs floating around me. But knock on wood, so far, so good, for me anyway.

How are you holding up, lmp? Hoping the abdominal problem is ok. :grouphug:

Thinking of everyone. GAGWTA :)

Forgot to mention, am helping our friends plan a WDW trip - well, sort of helping. ;) They are going Christmas Eve to New Years. :scared1: :scared1: When I heard that, I said I wanted no part of it, LOL. Busiest and most expensive week of the year, no discounts, shoulder to shoulder people, park closings, etc, so I said I'll help you, but recommended a travel agent for the major planning, and TGM. I don't want any of the blame if things don't go right, and that, to me, just has disaster written all over it, but they were there for the Millenium and still want to go. (They are now appreciating the work involved in planning our other WDW/DCL trips, though. :teeth: ) The thing is, there's not anything special about Christmas to them, just that it's when the DW is off (she's a teacher). I suggested waiting until Feb vacation but they still want to go for XMas. Has anyone here been at that time and do you have any advice for them?

Hi, Cheryl! Things are good here, thanks! Mom has a ton of follow-ups next week, so we'll see how those go!
Glad you are enjoying some nice weather! :)

Laura, what wonderful news!!! :goodvibes I hope you do not need surgery after all!!

Linda - The little girl I nanny just had staphylococcal scarlet fever. She had a sand-papery rash from the nape of her neck down to her knees, and her fingertips peeled. Her pediatrician said the peeling fingertips was the give-away. There is all kinds of stuff going around - I hope your kids feel better soon!! :wizard:

GAGWTA!!

jsg, wow. Yes, they considered scarlet fever but ruled it out. It actually looked like measles to me but they assured me that could not be the case. :confused3

Linda - He said it can be the staph kind or the strep kind, with staph being the milder of the 2. Then I got the styes, which I read are also caused by staph but the eye Dr. seems to think there is no correlation. Ehh, not sure I agree with her!

Those viral rashes can be pretty bizarre. Hopefully your DD will be feeling like her normal self soon! :wizard:

I agree with you! :magnify:

Just back from the doctor's again. DS came home quite sick from school. I got a message from the school nurse he's been down there six times this week which is very unlike him. Poor kid, he really just feels awful. Had a chest xray which seemed ok, they still think it's viral. Temps to 102 today, even with motrin.

Laura!!! :dance3: :yay: I am feeling your joy and wonder through cyberspace sista!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Linda (and others) who always post the links and articles, always interesting reading them.

Hope the kiddos feel better soon Linda. It sure has been an awful winter everywhere. DD has been battling strange viral as well as bacterial things all winter....chalking it up to her new job in an elementary school, but these are not "common cold" episodes...they are weird recurring harder-hitting illneses.

Waiting for spring here, though that means mud season first. I'll take it though. Sick of the cold and we still have a solid snow cover despite today's relatively balmy temps in the 40's (another foot last Monday on top of what was here !)

You asked about WDW for Xmas. We went in 2005, my after-treatment trip! Arrived around the 22nd and returned home the 30th I think. We lined up ADRs well ahead for Xmas Eve candlelight Processional dinner, Xmas morning CRT breakfast at the Castle . The first couple of days were not too bad (well not as bad as I expected) crowd-wise, but we follow our usual plan no matter when we go....up and out early to a park for must-do attractions....back to hotel by early to mid afternoon for rest (or pool if warm enough), then back out in the evening for dinner/shows/strolling and other attractions that strike our fancy, ornot go back at all and just strolledaround BW and/or resort hop. We spent alot of time that trip just resort-hopping looking at Xmas decorations (we had never seen the Christmas decorations beforethis trip). One thing I would NEVER do again if I went for Xmas: MK on Christmas Day. It was just way too crowded. We had a 9:30ish ADR at the Castle a nd when we got out the 3 of us looked at each other and said in unison "I gotta get out of here". It was awful just trying to walk down Main St to exit while the hordes were streaming in. We went over to Animal Kindom, it was busy but not claustrophobic, we had a nice time there and had a late lunch/early dinner at Rainforest Cafe (we made the res as we entered the park). Since we'd been before and know we'll be back, we weren't frantic to ride the rides, KWIM? But we did do our must-do's with the first thing in the morning strategy.

How's your mom Merry?

Glad your eye is improving JSG!

Laurie, Cheryl, Alice,Maureen, everyone....(darn I should just go with the GAGWTA instead of overlooking someone!!) :grouphug:

Ann, do you mind if I include your post on another thread I have going for my friend? Thanks for responding.

Not at all :) Feel free to correct my typos too ;) (my spacebar which sometimes does not work and sometimes works when it shouldn't LOL)

Laura - I am so happy for you and your good results. What a relief and "gift" this is for you! You should treat yourself to a trip to WDW!

I know I haven't posted very often this winter but I think of all of you every day. It's amazing how close one can feel to people I've never met.

Ann, I've tried to e-mail Becky but cannot seem to bring up her e-mail address from her notes on the Caring Bridge site. Has anyone else had this problem?

We are awaiting the birth of our 3rd grand-daughter in the next two or three weeks - I am so excited to see and meet this new little person!

Have a good weekend everyone. GAGWTA Barbara

LOL Linda, can't say I blame you for being skeptical, but we were there last Christmas (27th-3rd) and had a GREAT time! Our trip went a lot like Ann's. We had a very laid back trip, saw/did everything we wanted to, and never (and I do mean never) waited more than 10 minutes for anything. It did require a plan, and the willingness to follow it. Biggest thing was ALWAYS arriving at the gates at least 30 minutes before it opened. MK & AK had early opening every day, so for those parks we arrived about 30 minutes prior to the general opening time. Since we stayed off site, we were not eligible for early entry. Which brings up another point about the lack of discounts for Christmas week - we rented a townhouse at Windsor Palms which was wonderful. Three bedrooms/bathrooms for much less than what one room on site would have been. I know some people do not like staying off site, but it worked out great for us.

TGM has some really good articles about Christmas week. And his suggestions work. Arrive early. Gather FPs at every chance. Get out of dodge by early afternoon. Come back later in the evening and use FPs from earlier in the day. New Years Eve? We went to AK in the morning, and had dinner at Kona that evening. Watched the fireworks from the beach. Stayed clear of the parks that night.

Did I mention that the best thing to do is ARRIVE EARLY?!? ;)

We also went over Christmas in 2004. Had a great time then too! :thumbsup2

Hope everybody has a good weekend.....it's back to work on our master bathroom for us. Sounds like we will tackle the plumbing. LOL, I mean DH will tackle the plumbing. I just cheer him on and feed him. :cheer2:

Get well wishes to all who need them! :flower3:

GAGWTA! :goodvibes

Thanks, Cheryl. Good thoughts. Is it ok if I include them on a thread I've created for my friend?

Linda, we never ventured to WDW at Christmas but we have done one Easter trip and one thanksgiving trip.

We always try to do the early strategy and it worked for us as well. We were staying at an offsite rental house both trips, the kids were younger (this was 2002 and 2003 so they pretty much stayed with us). If our son wanted to sleep in, we let him, and just brought him when we returned in the evening.

I really enjoyed seeing the Christmas decorations during the Thanksgiving trip. Also, visiting the resorts to see their decorations was nice, something we had not tried before, like Ann.

I think it is easier for a seasoned WDW traveler to pull this off as long as you keep the non-commando attitude.

The parks have long hours and the weather can be outstanding.

I also think a longer stay helps, we stayed 10 nights during Thanksgiving and the longer period meant we could always return.

With all that said, I am not really interested in going at Christmas. Maybe if I was younger and more peppy?

Barbara, it is good to see you posting. I wondered where you were. What a wonderful thing to look forward to, that sweet little granddaughter. I'll bet you will be bringing her to WDW one day in the not too distant future.

Linda, how is your son this morning?

Good luck with the renovation work today, Cheryl.

I need to get DH going with some stuff, but he has to work again this weekend. Gotta keep the income flowing.

Ann, it is warm here too, too warm. I had to put on the A/C yesterday. And pollen season seems to be in full season.

JSK, is you eye infection improving?

Laura, are you celebrating?

LMP, are you home, we haven't heard from you?
