Thanks, Laurie. Is it ok if I put your thoughts on my thread?

Linda, how is your son this morning?
He is better, no fever, feels ok. He coughed for about 1/2 hr when he first woke up. I think the nasal congestion gets mucky back there during the night. (Chest XRay was clear yest.) I made him a hot lemon tea with honey which he is now drinking. Thank you for asking.

GAGWTA, Ladies!

Laurie - It's not an infection, it's 4 styes all in my left eye. :scared1: 3 on the inside of the upper lid, so it looks like I have been stuffing frozen peas up there. I have been using drops but they aren't helping. I have been using hot compresses (which I HATE because the cloth cools off so quickly so I am up and down for 30 minutes to reheat the darn thing) but that isn't helping, either. The eye Dr. said I can have them lanced, but that does not sound like a procedure I care to participate in.

Linda - More good thoughts for your kids to feel better!! :wizard:

Certainly you can use my post. How nice of you do do this for your friend. If this nursing thing doesn't work out for you, I hear personal planners do well.:rotfl2:

At least he is fever free finally, thank goodness. I have had really good luck with Mucinex, there are several formulas. I stay away from the extra strength due to Blood pressure issues.

An ear nose and throat doc last year when I was ultra sick last year from some type of upper respiratory infection (when I lost my sense of smell and taste and which seem to be permanently compromised) gave me a gene ric for tessalon called benzonatate. I think the nurse called them pearl drops or something.

They seemed to help but the B12 and anitibiotic shots clinched the deal.

I hope you avoid the germs.

Do you use airborne?

Ok, that just cracked me up! :rotfl:
Linda, of course you can include my thoughts. I hope your friends find them useful. I also think Snappy is right about it being easier to pull off for people who've made serveral trips already - if this is going to be a first or second visit for them, then it's probably not a good idea. Also, depends on everybody being on the same page about following a plan, no sleeping in and no lollygagging before lunch. If that doesn't sound doable for the entire group, then I'd avoid Christmas week. Glad your son is doing better.

JSG - ouch! :faint:

Gotta get back to work....DH keeps asking about stuff for the bathroom project- gosh, can't he see I'm busy here?!? :lmao:

GAGWTA!!! :goodvibes

Glad to hear SOMEONE has their priorities right!:thumbsup2

Ok and that is the first time I have seen lollygagging in a post in a while.

Good word, I think I am going to have start using that one.

GAGWTA!

Speaking of lollygagging:

My house is a mess, and there's laundry waiting to be folded.

But I spent much of today either on the computer ( a little schoolwork, a lot of playing) or making the first 5 loaves of Irish Soda Bread I'll need for St. Patrick's Day. (My husband, the kids and I all bring some in for our respective faculty rooms, the sitter gets one, I need at least one, and one of my husband's friends really loves it.)

Now one of my daughter's friends is coming over for a first time playdate. And here I sit on the computer :)

I received this email from merry:

For some reason I can't seem to post. We had our DSL "dry looped" on Friday and since then I can read the DIS, but can't post anything. Just wanted to let everyone know I am okay. I continue to pray for all of you. Hopefully I'll be back soon.

I felt a bit of anxiety when I saw her pm, thinking something dreadful had happened. Now that my BP has decreased, I like this kind of pm.

:woohoo: :yay: ~~~**GAGWTA sistas***~~~ :dance3:
Just got this message from my GI doc regarding the biopies he took on
Thur...WHOOOOOT!:cheer2:

The biopsies were normal. There was no evidence of colitis or
precancerous changes.

I will discuss your case with (surgeon) on Wednesday morning; I think
that we should cancel the surgery date.

Please begin tapering the prednisone 5 mg every other week until off.

God is great!!!:goodvibes
Enjoy today!:cool2:
:grouphug:

Yes, thankfully! Still some junky coughs, but better. Thanks.

What are you doing to celebrate your great news?

Well they just announced the line up for Night of Joy and my kids want to go again (well it's the 1st time for my youngest, 2nd for my oldest and me) I am making the kids pay their own way. They've been saving up for something special. So we are just going for one night, 2 days. Of course that's not until Sept. but it's placing faith in the future...:goodvibes

Thanks Elizabeth! How's the stink eye????

Eh, lumpy. :rotfl: I imagine I will have the lumps for quite awhile unless I take drastic measures. The biggest lump is still causing some discoloration at the lash line, but I am hoping that will resolve.

Linda - Those coughs seem to linger forever! Glad to hear the kids are on the mend!

GAGWTA!! :)
