Dinsey ticket prices going up this Sunday!!

I too went online, thinking everything would go smoothly. Ha, no such luck. I got the same "pending due to system availability" message. How convenient for systems to be down two hours before prices are supposed to go up! I am biting my nails. I KNEW IT WOULDN"T BE THAT EASY!

I am biting my nails as well, and trying to get over it and be prepared for whatever. the other point that bugs me is if I would have called and talked to someone to order via the phone system before I sumitted the on-line order, I am sure it would have been fine.

MY DH works in the world of systems, and says sytems go down frequently on Saturday nights for short periods of time until early Sunday AM- given that is a time when less customers are trying to complete transactions.

I hope they honor the "pending order".

My DH says- "if they don't - don't worry about- we just won't order pizza next week" thats why I married him.

Add me to the ranks of people that tried to order passes for friends tonight and got the same message, "order pending". It also said I would be getting an email soon, but none yet. Fingers crossed.

Do you think they will honor the "pending" sales?

thank goodness I already have my tickets

I would think they'd give us the price we agreed to buy the tickets for. Not sure how they would word a notice about hiking it after the fact: "Hi, our system was down (not your fault) so you missed out on the lower prices. Although you agreed to pay XX amount, due to the timing issue with the system we have actually charged XX+ to your account." That is not good business... Of course, I guess they can do what they want. It seems like they'd have to tell us before they did it, though. Anyone got that email yet?

I just went online and successfully ordered 5 day Hopper Plus's. I had planned on waiting till next month to order..........Thanks to these boards I was able to save a few dollars! DIS Rocks!!!
Thanks soooooo much for posting the info on the increase. :D

I read on the page that the sale wasn't final until a confirmation number was received.

I think they could say that the sale wasn't final and now the terms have changed. It isn't the best way to do business, but I believe it could be done that way. If that is the answer, I will quickly try to get tickets via AAA, or suck it up with the new prices.

although I am nervous about this, I have done all the planning for two families, am spending my bonus on this vacation, and I am going to enjoy it- gosh darn it!!!! regardless of how this issue turns out. I have spent so much time planning this, and I hate to plan- but I want everyone to have a good time. so, I will try not to get too nervous tomorrow waiting until I can call in on Monday am-

if anyone hears anything, please post!

For what it's worth, when I found out about the price increase I called 3 different AAA offices to check on their prices. They claimed that their prices were NOT going up. We'll see!

Thanks for this info........!

We ordered our tickets online here in the UK late last night from ticketmania. The order seems to have gone through as we have 2 e-mails from them, one is 'international customer receipt/purchase confirmation' and the other says 'delivery pending review' so hope they aren't going to surprise us!!

I just checked the price online of the 5 day PH I bought yesterday at the DS. I paid $231 ($219 before taxes), and today they are $230 before taxes. Thanks again.

How do the people who let us know about this beforehand find out? Are they CM? And is it true that AAA is keeping their prices the same?

I first heard about the increase here, then saw it last night scrolling across the bottom of the screen on CNN

I think that Disney has to release the information to the press. There was an article in the Orlando Sentinal yesterday with the new prices included. Also, as someone else said, it was running in the ticker on CNN last night.

I don't think the price increase is that bad, is it? If the price listed is $230 BEFORE taxes, that means with tax they are going to be about $245 at the gate, right? I paid $231.11 for a 5 day PH with the Disney Store "advance purchase" discount, so I don't consider $245 at the gate to be that bad. If you wait until you get to the gate, you're going to have to pay more anyway.

I need to upgrade to an AP when I get there, and from what I can tell, the total price is going to be around $403. That's up about $10 from where it was. Unless I'm figuring something incorrectly, the increase was not as bad as I thought it would be. I was expecting the AP rate hike to be much worse than that!

Every day or two I go over to the Orlando Sentinel site and check out the Disney articles. There it was on the front page on Saturday.... Disney ticket price increase coming!

Actually, it's a good place to get all sorts of tidbits about Disney. Best time to check is in the morning as they shuffle the front page coverage throughout the day. Usually the Disney stuff is on the front page for the first few hours of the day.

Hey all you fellow last-minute shoppers. I STILL do not have my email confirmation from Disney for my late-night 4day PH purchase. BUT I just checked my credit card & there is a pending charge for the ORIGINAL, lower price. So hopefully we all got in under the wire. Let us know how you do & if you got that email. :wave2:

I still don't have a confirmation email. boo hoo

I still don't have an email either. I feel like I am in limbo, they have my credit card info, but I am not even sure I have tickets. I guess I shouldn't worry about all this. Someone else had said "just don't buy pizza this week" and that will make up for the difference. Such a great idea! I had bought 4 AP's (or tried anyway) online because I didn't see this post until after disney store at mall closed. The prices did go up on them 10 on adults 8 on childs. So the total I would lose is 37 bucks. I guess it isn't too bad, it just kills me that their computers were down????!!!!! I bet if I go on there right now, I would be able to get them right away. Please post if you get your email........thanks.........

Darn!! Just read this now, Sunday am! Boo hoo...I need 5 tickets for our December trip and I was definitely planning on buying soon to avoid a price increase!! *Sigh!* Oh well...it can't be helped now.....
:(

I'm sure their computers weren't just down yesterday -- they must have been revising the system for the price change!
