Dinsey ticket prices going up this Sunday!!

UPHs went up already earlier this year, so no.

Email watch: nothing yet. Remember to post! :wave2:

AGGH! Still no email but now my cc shows a pending charge of the HIGHER price, after it showing the lower price all weekend. I think that is crappy business practice, whether or not we didn't get our confirmation email. I am going to complain, not that it gets me anywhere.

......How do the people who let us know about this beforehand find out? Are they CM? And is it true that AAA is keeping their prices the same?

I called the 800# Saturday to make sure I had my "resort requests" listed on my reservation. After she was done going through my entire reservation screen to make sure that everything was correct, I said "thank you very much" and was about to hang up. She quickly chimed in by asking "do you have your tickets yet?" I said, "do you mean park tickets?". She said "yes". I told her that I had already purchased them back in January at my local AAA office. She said "that's good, because the price goes up tomorrow".

I really thanked her for passing that info along. I immediately came to this board to post it, but I saw that this thread had already started.

Just so everyone knows, I found that AAA had the best deal for what I wanted. My local office only sells:
- 4-Day Hoppers,
- 5-Day Hoppers and
- 6-Day Hopper Pluses.
The 6-Day Hopper Plus is what we wanted......so we were in luck.
The "gate price" for a 6-Day Hopper Plus is over $300. The on-line price was ~$293, the Disney Store price was ~$292 and the AAA price at my local office was $282. All of those prices include tax.

I just called my local AAA office (they just now opened at 9 AM) and she said that the 6-Day Park Hopper Plus is STILL $282. I informed her about Disney's price increase and she said that their's haven't gone up yet -- BUT it could happen at any time without notice. So, it sounds like AAA is still everyone's best bet (if your local office handles the type of ticket you're looking for).

Good Luck.

Edited to add: I just checked Disney's site and the on-line price for that 6-Day Hopper Plus went up from ~$293 to ~$307 (both prices include tax). So, hurry to your local AAA office before their prices go up too. Right now, they're still $25 per ticket cheaper than on-line prices.

I just spoke to a sweetie CM and my tickets that were ordered late Saturday night (but before midnight) and that I got the "system unavailable" message WERE charged at the LOWER price. She gave me a confirmation number over the phone because she said the system was still down & she did not know when all of us would get our confirmation emails. So hopefully that will make some of you in the same spot feel better. Have a Disney day.:wave2:

My local news just had a segment about Disney ticket prices going up..but said something about a new AP good for week days only that was going to be cheaper...this would be great for us since we travel on the weekends or could do SW or Universal on weekends instead of Disney..anyone know about this AP?

After reading this thread and several others about rising ticket prices, I went over to my local AAA this morning and inquired about prices. A 5 day Park Hopper is $230 including tax through them, while Disney is $254 and some change. She didn't know if or when their prices would also rise, but I ordered 5 and will save almost $125!

They also provided me with a map of FL and a tour book. If you need tickets and you belong to AAA, I'd give them a call!

I just got off the phone with a CM and she sid the same thing as alliecats.:) I got my confirmation number and was charged the lower price. The call only took 5 minutes, but it was a hugh relief to know that there are no problems. If you need to call, the number is 407-566-4985.:teeth:

I'll take that a step further and say that even if you don't belong to AAA, the savings on tickets more than make up for the cost to join. Even by paying the fee to join, you'd still be saving money (the larger your family, the greater the savings).......not to mention all of the free maps you'd ever want, tour-books, trip-tiks, no-fee travelers' checks, discounts on many hotels/car-rentals/etc., free nation-wide road-side assistance, etc., etc., etc.
Just a good, over-all investment.

It's for Disneyland only, not for WDW.

I'm so bummed! Just got online today and find out ticket prices have gone up. Not fair to sneak the news out over a weekend!
Tried ticketmania and maple leaf--no luck there. I wonder how much it cost to join AAA. I'm rambling--sorry--guess I just needed to vent.

Regarding AAA, I believe it cost $70-75 for both my DH and myself to join. The first year I think we got a little bit of a discount on the fee. Between the hotels, a couple of car trouble incidents, discounts on attractions such as the zoo, and Disney discounts, they've certainly been worth it. Plus you have access to their trip planner on the website.

Once my daughter gets her Driver's License, we're going to sign her up as well, I think it might cost an additional $15/year. The money saved and the peace of mind are certainly worth it. We're driving from Minnesota to Disney (yikes!), I'm sure it will come in handy.

I just called my local office. Basic, standard AAA membership for one person is now $51/year ($76.50 for two). Technically, only one family member needs to join to get all the ticket discounts. If you're buying tickets for more than two people, you're already saving money. If you're only buying tickets for 2, it's like getting a free AAA membership........if you count in the savings on things like travellers' checks, you're back to being money ahead again. It's, pretty much, a win-win situation.

If you travel other places besides Disney, tons of businesses give AAA discounts (usually 10% off of things like hotels, car-rental, restaurants, etc.). It's definately worth considering before their Disney ticket prices go up.

I too went to my local AAA office and was able to get our 4day PH's at the old price. They hadn't received anything on new prices. I'm so glad I saw this thread on Saturday night.:D

I just want to add that I when I bought my tickets from AAA today they also give me a piece of paper for AAA diamond prefered parking at Disney, it was kind of a surprise bonus. Also I just read on my receipt that AAA will refund any unused and unexpired ticket with original receipt.

Just wanted to say hi to parrothd!

Was reading this thread and saw the Belleville location.

I'm a Swansea girl.

Yes, it is a small world after all!!!

Hey there ZuZugal. Nice to hear from ya. It's always good to hear from "hometown" people. :teeth:

I'm West End........Signal Hill.......all my life.

alliecats - Great you got your tickets!

The Disney website can be frustrating but when I call them they are wonderful!

Good for you!

Thank you, Parrothd and pygmymom, for your advice and interest. I called my local AAA in Austin and they only had 4 day park hoppers because they are going to stop selling Disney World tickets and no longer restock them! No mention of DW tickets on the Texas AAA website, either! Just tickets for Six
Flags, Legoland, Universal Studios, etc.

Just to check to see if this was a national policy change, I checked on the Illinois AAA website and everything was unchanged, with ticket prices for a 5 day park hopper ticket at $222-adult and $177-child. Makes you want to live in Illinois!:teeth:

I just caught this post. Too late. I'm planning a trip for the end of April and was mulling over my ticket options B4 I bought. I know it's not alot of money but this was such a poor business practice. They advertised the increase @ DisneyLand (saw it on CNN) but not WDW. I'm past it. Hey, what's another $100 bucks @ Disney, right? It's just so infuriating no notice was given, especially to those of us with existing reservations. Thanks for letting me vent, Maggie

MARN1234 why don't you try the ticket brokers? They haven't raised their prices yet.
