Dining with people not on the plan

We have ADR's with friends that are not doing the DP. Will it be OK if we tell the server up front and they will split the check??

Sure. They'll give you a DDP check and your friends an OOP check. No problem at all.

They'll do the same thing if you want to order something that's not covered by the DDP, like wine or a lobster side, etc.

At LTT we had an extra ts left and thy let us pay for MIL with it since she was not on the dining plan.

Servers will generally add an automatic 18% gratuity to the out of pocket check, for items not covered such as adult beverages and for the guests not on the plan. Look at the bill so you don't double tip.
