Just a quick not to let you all know how absolutely impressed I am!! You pages are just beautiful -- I am in awe!

I never scrapped traditionally and I have only started digital scrapping (maybe about a month or so) I am too embarrassed to even post my pages. I basically have a patterned background page, and my photos have solid colored borders, no embellishments etc. Pretty boring compared to what I have seen on this thread! I am inspired to be more creative.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful layouts!!

A little shadow added to your pictures and mats will really make your layouts POP! I bet you'll be really happy with your pages if you add a little shadow here and there. I bet your pages are better than you think -- feel free to share! I just started digi scrapping recently, too, but I did do traditional scrapping for about ten years. I think you can tell this from my layouts. A lot of them (like the ones I just did from AK) look very much like what I would have done in a traditional album, not as fancy or stylized as a lot of the digital pages out there. Whatever your style is, digi scrapping is tons of fun and it is fun to see everyone's style!

Thanks for your encouragement. Yes, I agree that digi scrapping is fun. Today I tried to use a template, and that really helped. Things were not so boring. Now, trying to find enough templates to scrap an entire book . . . hmmmm . . . good thing I only have 1 Disney trip to scrap! :goodvibes

Templetes are very easy to find lots of great ones!! Try these stores for some goodies:
www.sweetshoppedesigns.com
www.scrapbookgraphics.com

And for some freebies, go back to page 71 - there is a link that jessica posted there, and this person has tons of freebies and lots of free templates on her blog!!

My favorite templates are by Andrea Gold. She frequently (like 4-5 times per week) puts a new freebie on her blog. And then afterwards puts those temps in her shop. She definately has a blog to check daily or at least every other day! Her blog is: http://scrapandrea.blogspot.com/ If you use the Ikea Goddess blog for freebies, they are usually posted there too.

Fran how cool is it that Andrea is now putting up two page freebies?

I loved that she did the two page template, giving one side away and us buying or doing a challenge for the other side, but she has started to give both sides away.

Everyone's pages look great! Keep posting, I am living through all of you while my pictures pile up:rolleyes1 I should get to work, but never seem to get past the point of collecting freebies!

isn't it fun to find all these freebies. I feel way more excited with all the digital elements and stuff i have then all my CM stuff in stock. Thanks for posting Labdogs!:goodvibes

I'm another one that truly, truly enjoys all these freebies you've been posting. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

No problem! If I find any more good stuff, I'll post 'em for ya! I hear you about the Cm stuff. I used to be a CMC, too! Now, if CM would come out with a licensed Disney digital Power palette, then I could get excited!!

i have heard CM is coming out with new Disney line in June, and there is rumor it may included Disney for storybook? It would be interesting, although i don't have Storybook+, but might need to get it if there is a cool digital Disney coming.. :cool1:

Those are great... This is probably a dumb question -- but those are PSG files.... How do you open them? I can't figure it out. I have always only downloaded PNG files....

OK, I have been lurking on this thread for a while, but I have only read some of the posts not all. When I happened upon this thread I was interested in what digital scrapbooking was. I wasn't sure if I would like it. I really like doing the hands on crafts, but I like photography and graphics too! Almost 20 years ago with my first child I started my first child's photo album. As soon as I had him I went out and bought a Nikon 2000. His first year album has over 600 pictures. I did the traditional way for the first four children. When a little surprise came along 7 years after the youngest, scrapbooking was all the rage. I decided it would be nice to do hers differently and creatively. I love being creative! I researched and choose supplies, took lots of pictures, but no scrapbook.:confused3 Another little one came along and I said I have to do better, I am going to do it this time!;) So I asked myself how am I to get better organized? I researched again and bought a digital camera because that had been the rage for quite a while and I decided it was time to get one and it would make my picture taking more organized and maybe it would help with scrapbooking!:rotfl2: Bought some more stuff I liked. Is there a scrapbook? No, just more supplies.:rolleyes1 And then theres lots of organized pictures that I lost and recovered because they exploded in my iphoto on my computer. Had I saved them all? Well of course not so I had a shocked system until I recovered them all.:scared1: In the fall of 2005 we went to Disney. What do you do when your planning and waiting? Well of course you buy Disney scrapbooking supplies! But after the trip I did a good job and printed up all the Disney pictures! Starting off good right?:woohoo: Then I am trying to figure out were to start because if you remember I haven't done a scrapbook yet. Well I had been thinking a lot and trying to figure out what was going to work for me. But I needed to get these pictures in an album for the kids and I and everyone else to see. Scrapbooking just was going to take too long because I couldn't make the decisions, so I decided to buy some albums and put them in and just make some 4 x 6 index cards as headers describing what was going on. Well when I jump in (finally) I just keep going.:cheer2: I ended up spending a lot of time anyways downloading just the right Disney graphics to make these headers really fun! Then of course there was more than just the headers, there was little fun notes of explanation throughout the book...! It ended up very nice and I was glad all my journaling was included because it jogs your memory and keeps the memories alive. So I keep thinking....what is it that will fit me and my schedule? Well that brings us up to our last little one. Did I buy some scrapbooking supplies? Sure I did!! But this time with the intent for just the special pictures and I bought photo albums to put the rest in... well because I still have to put all the cute photos I took of him in the album.(and I thought I would cut down on pictures by using a digital...right, no theres just more and there all good!!) He is 16 months and still no scrapbook, but I do have some photo albums!:goodvibes In the meantime I fall upon a free 8 x 11 Shutterfly book. What an experience that was and it was fast! So I am thinking more...hmm what is the best for me to keep their pictures? Sounding like traditional albums because it is the quickest and easiest.

>>>>>So for anyone who doesn't want all the background start here. I went to a homeschool conference and there is a table on creative memories, but her table has a twist of creativity that caught my eye, so I wander over.(I wont mention all the cute creative stuff she had) BUT she had a comparison of a traditional scrapbooked album and a digital scrapbooked album that was made to look identical to show what the differences were. I was shocked! The only difference was the 3D effect and I think even then digital scrapbooking can add some of that in which I think she did. So anyway now I am thinking that maybe I should seriously enter the world of digital scrapbooking because it looks nice and it's a lot faster. (she talked about how long each album took and about how her kids were able to design the pages on a lap top during car time and then print them when they got home. We didn't talk much about it, but can it be less expensive for digital scrapping or that depends?)

So where do I start? Does anyone know about creative memories digital scrapbooking? Is it worth it? She answered any question I had, but I didn't have long to ask questions. She wasn't pushing her program, but pointed out that it's easier for a new person to have some program to start with.

So please tell me where do I start? I must also add a curve ball I own a mac. I don't think her program(creative memories) runs on mac unless I have some thing and I don't. Are there some web sights for beginners or any special magazine or books. I can go to Michaels or AC Moore tonight. I even have a 50% off coupon. I would like to do this as inexpensively as possible.
Could some of you Disneyers please help me out?!? And I just booked another Disney trip for 11(our family and my parents) for end of August.(free dining! )

HELP!!!!!!!

I know Fran created a really nice FAQ thread all about digital scapbooking. I believe its pinned to the top of this section.

EDIT
Here is the link to the FAQ thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1475382

Thank you Melissa. I will have to look at that thread when I get time. Right now I have to go run errands. I hope this will be easier...sometimes I feel I'm spinning around and around! Yes, and what do you need?:goodvibes
