I love music and am really getting into using my little MP3 player (not an IPod...Philips, but quite good.) I also just started downloading music from the net. I love that I can get a hold of great songs without having to invest in whole CDs, if I prefer not to.

Anyway, I have 2 quick questions. First, I'm just curious. Where do you download your music from, if at all? I've been using Walmart's online music store (88 cents/song.) I've tried Napster, but I find it very aggravating.

Second...any ideas what would cause the sound quality to be so much better for some music than others? I ripped and transferred a bunch of my CDs with 2 different computers, 2 different versions of Windows Media player. Would that affect the sound quality? The stuff I downloaded from the internet sounds amazing. Just looking for input - I don't think I "get" it all yet.

Hey there...I'm not much help, but thought I'd jump in. I got a Memorex MP3 player for Valentine's day & I tried to download songs off of some site (with a free trial) but it kept telling me the type of songs wouldn't work with my MP3. ?!?! So, I just took songs off of CD's I have.

What type of songs can you download? I wonder if Walmart will work with mine?

Walmart's music download service works, they say, with any MP3 player that uses Windows Media Player 9 or higher. Is that what you've been using to "rip" your CDs?

They have a pretty good selection, but then I'll come across quirky stuff...like NO Garth Brooks :confused3 Or with a couple of artists (Madonna), you need to download the whole CD.

I use the Dell Jukebox that came with my laptop. It's really easy to use. But I'm pretty sure I have Windows Media Player 9. I'll double check when I get home.

Thanks for the info!
