Hi,
With all the experience on this board, I know I'll get some good opinions on a decent (probably 8") digital photo frame that I'll load for grandma's b-day! thanks

Pandigital sells an 8" one that has decent resolution. A lot of the cheaper ones out there have bad resolutions, so be sure to check the back of the box or the side to see what the stats are.

Another issue I've found is that not all work the same way in posting up pictures. Some will cut off the top and bottom of a picture if it was taken for a vertical shot. Some will automatically reduce the pic to fit the screen. I usually bring an SD card w/ photos on it to the store with me to try out a few before I buy.

I think the phillips are the best all around. They are not cheap but the pictures are great.

Got the wife a Pandigital 8" last year. Great resolution / picture but ZERO customer service if you need tech support. Put about 1200 pix on a CF card and it handles them OK but every so often it will stop on a picture for an extended period of time. Needs a FAST card if you are going to load a lot of pictures.

One thing to watch for on some of the frames, some firmware will only allow a maximum amount of pictures to be processed. Don't know how it knows or why it makes a difference but some have a photo count maximum.

Yes that would be the best thing to do. I have had so many people get them and say what a deal they got and then complain how pixelated the images are. Some blame the computer but it is the frame. When trying them out try and note the resolution of them and this will get you closer when you shop around.
